Morning from up over land.

Okay.........what about his copies of People's Friend, half a bag of humbugs and his Lucozade?

He'll need those back too, please.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good Lord Satz. That be Fast and Furious! They must be keen on one another.
Thank you for the croissants but I am really battling with the sugar here! Really have awoken the Kraken. This is ridiculous almost eight months in! I swear I should not have opened the door even a crack at Christmas time. I can't believe how much like grog abuse this feels. Ordered NAC online today. I think maybe that was helping then I ran out and didn't worry??? I think I better buy one of those books as well. Maybe there's a support group for it. Middle aged women who get through the arvo by mainlining sugar. God.

Is it to be a very stylish wedding? If so you'll prob have to bite the bullet and do the whole pastel with hat shite...but if it's not...why not go to BT's and get a gorgeous dress that you just love and a wee headpiece? Just avoid black or white? I wore a hippy wedding dress...still love it..and my poor mum stuffed into a 'suit' and godawful hat!

Good morning everyone. Wow, great news Satz. Bet you are glad now you joined WW, how is it going? I went yesterday, think it’s about 6 years since I last did their programme. Seems much more straightforward. I need to do something. Yea what’s NAC Bridget? Gorey, Co Wexford (straight down N11) is full of boutiques, all on the one street, now they might be a bit like above but they are all on the same street and there is a lovely coffee shop. My crochet group had a lovely Saturday there, wool shopping and eating. Horrendous weather here today and I need to brave it to buy a new washing machine. Ugh.

Hi, byebyebridgetjones. I bumped a thread for you - it is full of links to articles and videos about what a sneaky devil sugar can be for some of us :culpability:

I posted in the Nest how I pretty much inadvertently started getting off caffeine last week with a 50/50 mix and I'm keeping it up this week. What I realized today is that without a nice big dose of my drug it it, my desire to drink it at all is much less. I'm mostly glad not to be waking up with caffeine-withdrawal headaches anymore but I actually miss the relief from that first cup. Like you guys were talking about with sugar, it reminds me of how much I anticipated and enjoyed the first glass of wine on an empty stomach. Just like I didn't like to drink wine on a full stomach, I'm not sure I'm so wild about coffee now that I'm not "normalizing" something wrong. When I was anemic (and didn't know it), I absolutely lusted after red meat and thoroughly enjoyed devouring it. Now that I'm not anemic, I can take it or leave it and when I have it, it isn't nearly as gratifying as it was. It makes me wonder what other behaviors (that may or may not seem normal) are driven by the body's attempt to "fix" something?? Maybe true health is when we don't crave anything or think we need anything outside of ourselves to make us feel ok.

What a fun event to look forward to, satz123! All the best to your daughter and her beau . I got my MOG dress on sale and off the rack from a department store and my MOB dress at a consignment shop. The main thing in my area is to avoid dedicated bridal shops where the goal seems to be to make you look like you had the child when you were in your 50s ! Resale shops are great because the fancy dresses usually have been worn only once or twice so they're almost like new at a fraction of the cost. Have fun hunting!!

Oh lovely excuse to have a gorgeous dress. I just got a dress for my daughters(X2) that I could wear and be happy on the day and for any celebrations.
One daughter planned her wedding in a month and we all went to Gretna Green it was brilliant and great fun.

As for the sugar thing it always hits me in the afternoon and it is biscuits--Also trying to cut down on coffee.
How is the fire situation Bridge?
Weather here is horrid after a lovely day yesterday. Still feeling like Lydia Languish on the couch

I was the MOG...........mother-of-groom........so had to be bland. That's why I went full-on with the hat. Which if I add up the cost of said hat, the number of visits to hat shop, petrol, and might as well have a nice lunch while we're here would have paid for a flat around here in 1975.
I hired my dress and my bridesmaid's...............when I married Mr. JC. Had my mother mithering on about paying for one but I'd already been there and done that. Gave my first one to a theatre company.

IamMary........I couldn't afford the stuff we sold even with staff discount. We did the poshest of the posh for the great and the rich............and there's plenty of money up here...........but it did give me a 'thirst' if that makes sense. I did their books and accounts (we were that posh ours were clients not customers).
So I'd watch all these people doing their tasting and grab a bottle of the finest Liiebfraumilch (at about £1.50 at the time) on the way home.
But I always drank faster, longer, drumming my fingers on the table at the slowest drinkers in the world when out, always the one that invited people back just so I could carry on. No-one seemed to mind. They grew out of it...........I didn't.

And wouldnt you start to feel so anxious when out with other people, WHAT IF I cant get enough with these pathetic slow drinkers, while trying to appear absolutely fine about stretching this wine out for 45 minutes! Which is why home drinking was so attractive, or at least, get a head start at home first.

Im a tea drinker, but Im sure I drink enough of it to equal several cups of coffee. Good for you NS, are you going to cut it out completely?
byebyebridgetjones, not to complicate things, as once you have found a good plan for healthy eating, you should stick to it.. but have you ever looked at intermittent fasting? Im only suggesting that because sometimes 1 treat just teases us. But with fasting, theres no discussion, almost everything is off the table for x amount of hours. Theres a lot of science behind it..

Definitely BTs and Arnotts as Molly suggested and the boutiques down Gorey way too.
There are loads in Skerries - Venezuela would be particularly high end, but there are a good few other interesting ones that you wouldnt have to remortgage the house for. Malahide too, while your out this way.
Clothes are only starting to come in between now and April, so hold your nerve.
Meanwhile, you have to get to a couple of those sample sales - all the stuff is in season and its 50-75% less. Its the buyers from these high end boutiques that go there. You might not get lucky the first time or you might just get something for the day before/after.
