Knew this debate would be coming............

Perhaps its protestant thing but we were told it was unluckly not to get the down by the 6th......if you left them up they had to stay up all year.......that came from my Nana & my Gran and you didn't mess with them.

Is a poinsettia classed as I decoration??? Mine's still lully.

Thank you for my lovely cake and happy birthday wishes. Been on Grandma duties as One of my daughters had an emergency. all was well and I am glad to be back home to a peaceful house.

I always use cheap pharmacy readers...not cos I'm cheap but I read a lot in bed and they regularly get warped. The optician tells me what strength to get...mines a 3...and then I have my verifocals for work
A granny's work is never done Whizz it's like being on call 24/7!!

Its one eye needs the reading and the other the proper seeing. There was a suggestion of contact lenses but tbh fiddling about with my eyeballs makes me feel sick. I hate having an eye test..........its in there with a smear test and the dentist

Ah gotcha. .oh and contacts...yuck. I could put them in but had terrible trouble getting them out..horrible...I don't mind eye tests tho...well - except for the one I had at 10am and forgot I'd been drinking till the wee small hours...had fallen asleep on couch..woke up about 4am and finished the wine....only realised as she was putting the machine thingy at my face that I must have been stinking of booze.....mortified!!!! I do not miss those sort of things!!

Oh dearie me. I have worn that hat. Although mine was a couple of gulps out of a bottle of vodka to stop the nerves. That was back in the day when I believed you couldn't smell alcohol off the vodka.

I wear contacts too, but cant read anymore with them in. My distance glasses have to come off too for reading. Drives me mad.

Horrible drinking dream last night/this morning. I was drinking in work, hiding wine in the cleaning cabinet and they were onto me. I was so worried about telling you lot!!

Hold your breath and plough through the first day back, Mary. I've just done that and survived. Now sitting with feet up watching S1E10 of You which is creepy AF.

Done and dusted. S2 E9 it gets creepier

Supposed to be meeting my friend for coffee but he's fallen off the wagon big style. I've got to go into town anyway we've run out of Kitty's non-alcoholic ginger wine. Warmed with a few slices of orange doesn't half warm the cockles and it seems to help Mr. JC's cough...............yes he's still coughing and sneezing and one more night of it I'm thinking of chopping his head off...........he can have it back in the morning.

Morning...whatever about early sobriety Tabs I was awake at least half a dozen times last night...going to rest up now for late shift...dinners made and Christmas completely stowed away...happy days!!
