Re: International Army February 2020
Hmm, interesting observation there ladies. At the beginning I used to like her direct approach, but then she got up my nose. Haven't see the new series.
Well done on the half brit, your lucky you didn't blow away! Working my way back up to a longer distance now. Decided not to do a marathon this year, but looking forward to a few halves.
90 and still practicing! Amazing. Keeps the brain busy and alive. No one should be forced to retire, makes no sense if they are doing their job well.
Congrats Molly on almost landing a job you didn't apply for :welldone:
Just started reading Blood Orange: female lawyer, mother, drink problem.. Im hooked.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: International Army February 2020
but has any one of you ever looked at photo's of self even 10 years ago - or 15 and thought we looked worse?
Like the alcohol I never want to return to that - EVER.
Now ladies I've met Dr Eva years ago and she's lovely lady. She's pretty & petite and is very kind 1:1
She does great work for kids / teens who are overweight and need help before they turn to fat adults with all the physical health / self confidence / bullying & mental health issues that involves.
People don't like her because she shoots from the hip and tells them the truth that they are fat and rearing an even fatter next generation.
That they have to stop eating crap, get their diabetes under control etc.
Interesting about the drink Molls - must watch it on catch-up.
I'd go to her new place in Portugal in a heartbeat - kinda 'quare place' for fatties..... lully
Rusters : I agree on the WW programme - it's really good .... certainly put manners on me. I can't believe how much junk I ate.
I cannot just be me ..... sit back & let it happen .... if I allowed that I'd be a 20 stone, chain-smoking active alcoholic. I know that for a fact.
I don't hate my body - it's been good to me all these years - so I owe it to give it the best.
Things have to be changed to ensure we are being our best selves.

Re: International Army February 2020
but there are differences there...of course if we drink too much/smoke or are obese...yes 100% they need to be addressed..not for one second would I say otherwise..but you don't drink or smoke and you certainly aren't obese..just seems sad to me that you can't be more positive bout your body..that's all I'm saying..
That woman did no favours for herself in that programme ..she truly came across a bit...a lot..like mad really ..dunno her inside story but felt sorry for her husband...tho maybe he's the twat...who knows???!!!

I LIKE my body (!) these days and want to keep it strong (gym) & healthy ( good nutrition) as long as possible.
All around here MrS & my SIL & my BIL & my own sister are getting knees replacements.
So I am grateful to my body for not letting me down yet.Last edited by satz123; February 4, 2020, 04:30 AM.

Re: International Army February 2020
Anyway - good news here today.
I was actually 'head hunted' :egad:- (phone call ) for the position of Receptionist / PA to a Consultant in a private hospital very close to home.
20 hours a week at almost twice what i'm on.
Not bad for an ol biddy coming up to 'retirement age' :haha:Last edited by satz123; February 4, 2020, 04:28 AM.

Agree re. strength of body..I work with a 40 something year old who told me she regularly has days she clocks 3 figures on her fitbit...anything less than 12k to me is a lazy one
Mind you...their knees could be unavoidable?(MrS walks heaps yeah?)...my hip was genetic..lifelong arthritis and will probably face another one down the road...ironically surgeon reckons it was overindulgence in sport that precipitated it...poxy unfair!!! Well done with the job!! When do you start? And when do you rub the current lots nose in it? ;-)Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: International Army February 2020
Morning,
Been up a while.........dog tired but didn't sleep very well. Remind me next year when I say I might just watch half an hour of the Superbowl...........feels like jetlag.
satz123....fab news about the job. :welldone: Do you want a reference...........I'll get Mr. JC to do one on headed notepaper
Anyway late for the parade but just peeled the phone off my ear. My friend (the one I started infants with).................anyway her son's over from China............he's been teaching Maths over there for 15 years or so and he can't go home because of the flu virus. Rumours are flying around. I'll know more on Friday when I meet them for lunch. Do I wear a hazmat suit????
mollyka......Mr. JC's came from being sooooooooo tall and carrying too much weight. Its not he ate the wrong things he just ate too much............you know before he started a meal he'd always ask if there was any more. (Actually, he still does) Might be a 'hangover' from posh school syndrome. They never got fed enough. It could be worse, I could be filing.
