Agree, NoSugar. I found her really narcissistic but also surrounded by narcissists. They all deserved each other. And she didn't have any sort of redemptive awareness by the end of it. Just alluded to husband having an affair and how disgusting . Erm.....s'cuse me...

I had a good old look around the local library sites today after Molly mentioned Borrow Box and there were all these fabulous things. Free streaming, ebooks, online language classes. Reserved myself some sugar addict type books (I Quit Sugar and Sweet Poison) and collected them after work along with a Ruth Hogan book (anyone read her?) So glad to be reading again.

JC I went to Woolworths after work and saw all of these frantic looking men running around the shopping centre grabbing what they could out of florist's buckets. What I REALLY like is rocking up tomorrow and scoring heavily discounted flowers.

I've just downloaded a short course in Latin. Mr. JC did it 'til he was 18 and helpful in Law and quizzes.
BTW I haven't got past page two.

Now that I wouldm't mind.
Although when the S&H was about 7ish he came home with a Valentine card.........I thought it was for me but it was for the goalkeeper of our football team.
Just got to nip up the shops then Buddy proof the house.

Books and reading are a passion of mine, an activity that I truly missed when I was drinking. My head was too muddled when it hit the pillow at night to remember anything that I had read. Drinking sure is a waste of time!

As [MENTION=21602]abcowboy[/MENTION] mentioned, it's not the banner that's so bad, it's the color! I've seen people driving cars that were a similar shade of yellow. It's an eyesore on the road...ugghh!

Hey Judy!! good to see you -- I'm sure the banner colour would be easily changed by Admin... I sort of like it and felt initially that it might encourage folks to start threads - make it more interesting round here... but maybe not.... quite a few not liking it!!
I live for reading tbh Judy - I couldn't imagine life without a book - I never quit reading altogether in the black times but yeah - I used to get muddled and forget characters and re-read and then get bored - had to re-read quite a few since sobriety - so sad..

ooooooohhhhh -- witty woo !!! Nice romantic dinner Rusters?? Have a lovely night! yup Storm Denis on his way across the atlantic -- I wonder do our English neighbours get the storms like we do or do we bloke the way? As in - we never get them as bad on the east coast where we all are - as they do on the west coast?

Deffo not hiking weather Rusters -- nor the bike - I'm missing the bike something awful -- we have some hotel vouchers from Christmas from the sprogs so just dying to slip off for a few days - but nah -- not wasting them in the cold and wet - will wait for bike weather

Just had beeeooootiful steak dinner - and homemade choccie cake for afters -- twas awful nice but I'm stuffed

Sadly,Jude , I've had to re-watch a lot of movies over the years as well as re-read books. Still trying to come up with a good reason to drink and failing!

I've been thinking about what you said about your work, Molly. I feel overlooked as well. I think people think of me as a jolly old Mummsy of the workplace or something. And I've got to be honest and say that I do it to myself as well because I fall into that role. I just get really tired of people turning up and expecting to move straight into 'the corner office'. People who think that 'networking' is the same as hard work. They want to 'pick your brain' about something - otherwise known as getting me to do their thinking for them. It's just laziness and entitlement really, not progression on merit. They must feel like frauds at the end of the day, so I feel sorry for them.

Where was I going with that? Oh yes, just keep babbling so you don't have to go out and mow, Bridget.

If I felt for one SECOND that they had the brains to feel like frauds I wouldn't feel so hard done by and put upon... and you have LITERALLY put it in a nutshell -- laziness and entitlement -- so true -- and yes -- I could be accused of the same thing (allowing myself to fall into the jolly old mumsie role) -- and then I wonder is it my own lack of self confidence that lets me be seen as such.... I hate being wrong and I hate feeling foolish - so being somewhat non-entity-ish I don't leave myself open to anything... and then I wonder is my lack of self confidence down to age or down to the years of feeling less than others because of the hidden drinking.... oh where am I going with that -- I'm just babbling rather than get up and go to bed!!!! Work tomorrow!
