Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

Everyone's fit and well. Trouble is with Jenny's its in a very poor area and most of the kids do breakfast club and a proper lunch.........send them home and I don't want to think about it. One of the young 'uns couldn't go as his mother had a relapse (drug and alcohol) taken to the hospital so he had to stay at home with his younger siblings....he's 16 FFS.
I've got COPD and it doesn't bear thinking about if it hits me so if I'm making light of it..............its my way of coping or I'll go into meltdown.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Very serious now all right. I've heard those rumours too Mers.
That the country will be in total lockdown from 8am Tuesday. EVERTHING closed.

      That's cos no-one took the warnings seriously - like Mary's kid's Mams - unbelievable.
Kids out in gangs everywhere having a rare old time - should have left them in school - now the teachers are on a jolly and healthcare workers have no childminders to allow them go to work
Pubs PACKED last night & probably tonight.

Got a recording sent to me from my mother'e 'salt of the earth' minder : saying just the above & about the Defence Forces & Gardai leasing 200 people carriers ready for Tuesday morning - it could be bollox - but I'd better go get grub tomorrow.

Can't get it to save on here Mers but I'll send to Molls as the only other Irish on here.....
Imagine the pubs closed Paddy's Day :egad:

BTW if you see six teachers with English accents in the gutter in Temple Bar just step over them..........its Jenny and five other teachers from school they've been tested and are not dangerous. Just there to let they're hair down and celebrate someone's 40th.
That is the STUPID thing about all this 'social distancing' JAcks - the pubs & restaurants remain open. Now if you've ever been in Dublin Temple Bar on a Saturday night - Jesus - standing room only in bars & out in the street.
Makes NO SENSE to tell us sitting at home to keep our distance - with that going on.

SOME SCARY READING ON IRELAND FIGURES : by a teacher in Tullamore who has studied the thing since January.

The Government has said between 25% and 75% of the population will get the virus. If 25% of the Irish population get it, which based on the numbers above is a very low estimate, that's 1.2 million people.

5% needing intensive care means 60,000 people will need intensive care beds to stay alive.

We currently have 277 intensive care beds in Ireland.
If too many people get sick in a short space of time, many, many Irish men and women are going to die when they could have been saved. Ireland is a small country. This is going to be someone in your family or someone you know. Or their mother. Or their father.

The staff in ICU wards know the numbers. Their representative body released a statement on Thursday, which was in the Irish Times, saying that they know that they are going to be making choices on who gets an ICU bed or who gets a ventilator. They said they will be making "challenging decisions". I'll translate that: It means the staff are going to be deciding who lives and who dies.

It has been happening in Italy already, and Italy has much better ICU care than we do. In terms of cases, we are 2 weeks behind Italy. The older you are, the less likely they are going to try to save you. Don't think this only applies to over 70s. If you are over 40, and need ICU, but a 30 year old also needs it, chances are the 30 year old will get it and you will die. If that doesn't scare you, you don't fully understand it.

If we can lower the number of cases AT A SINGLE POINT IN TIME, we lower the number of people needing intensive care AT A SINGLE POINT IN TIME, then we free up more ICU beds, and we lower the number of Irish people who die in Irish hospitals. It is that simple.

This could be someone close to you. Your mam. Your dad. Your partner. Your granny. Your granddad. Your brother. Your sister. Your aunt. Your uncle. Your neighbour. Your friend.

You do not want any of them dying because there was not enough ventilators or ICU beds to go around. It will not be the fault of the ICU staff. If you want to blame someone for that, blame years of governments giving tax cuts instead of investing in the health service.

If you are furious even thinking of the idea of your loved ones dead because a doctor thinks they are too old or are not strong enough, and giving a bed to someone who is a bit younger, then good, you are right to be. You will also be more willing to listen to what you need to do next to help stop that happening:

STAY AT HOME AND ONLY GO OUT IF YOU NEED FOOD.

Watch Netflix. Read a book. Binge on a TV series. Go on Youtube. Eat food. Learn to cook. Learn to sew. Write a book. Do a diary. Figure out your life. Do press ups. Do sit ups. Do chin ups. Do zumba dancing. Do an online course in astronomy. Or Yoga. Or sports management. Or whatever the fuck you want.

Do whatever the fuck you want. You have absolutely no excuse not to keep yourself entertained at home.

Do not go for pints. Do not have a house party. Do not go to a house party. Do not go for coffee. Do not go for a meal. Do not go for a chat. Do not visit your auntie. Do not visit your parents. Do not bring the kids over to their friends. Do not let friends come over to you.

If you absolutely have to get out of the house, go for a walk on your own or with someone you are living with. But in general:

STAY THE FUCK AT HOME UNTIL THE NUMBER OF CASES STARTS COMING DOWN.

If you want to be a hero in this, and want to save lives, but don't know what to do, stay the fuck at home.

P.S: The Brits are making a balls of it again and are not staying at home. Lots of them are going to die because they are not staying at home. Don't be like the Brits. Stay at home.

P.P.S: The more people who understand what is going on, the better. So send it on to whoever you think would benefit from it.

I've listened to so many 'experts' today that its clear (well to me anyway) they haven't got a clue but they can use very long words that bamboozle the ordinary.
I'm fed up to the back teeth with the press that have their own ideas and are wallowing fear-mongering.
Saw five 'experts' squeezed together in a studio at lunchtime , while they're shoulder to smug shoulder telling us plebs what to do............that I'll just listen to my own health.
Yes I'm tired, frumpy, pissed off and my nose hurts.
Hopefully a good nights sleep will put me back in a good head-space tomorrow.
You weren't the only one that had enough and was pissed off. I have had enough of the stupid comments on Facebook. All the idiotic political comments going on over here. My brother called me right after I had hidden one of his posts and I was pissed off. He started to talk about something and I cut him off and told him how sick I was of all the stupid posts people were making and that I didn't need to see people arguing about it and quoting incorrect statistics. If I want to know something I'll research it. I've been going to the WHO website, not the media, not facebook.

I took the wind out of his sails. LOL - He wasn't able to rant to me about everything he had read on Facebook. He backed right down. But, of course, he was still posting shit today. Hard to believe we are related.

We have told our son & family that it's best not to come around here. He is a server in a restaurant so he is around people all the time.
I agree with Satz - people are going to die. People we know. Let's be safe everyone.

Good morning everyone. Some good coming from it. Have a friend who s husband has a small greengrocers and he is run off his feet. The big chain supermarkets will survive, going to start picking stuff up from the small places. Agree telling everyone to stay in and the pubs heaving is just madness. Feel there will be a back lash over Cheltenham too. Lot of anger that it went ahead and a positive case reported in the town. Every day brings changes.

Couldn't agree more. Watch UK government change of direction now that the big lads in Cheltenham have had their days out.
Then plane loads of Irish coming back here with God knows what.

MrS was one of them - he's in isolation here .....

Ah ok ..well france and Spain now in lockdown so guessing it's only a matter of time..the nonsense of northern Ireland following the Brits policy on our island shutting nothing down...not even schools yet leaves us doubly vulnerable here

Edit..the images of Temple Bar last night are shocking ..100's crammed into small bars..jeez it's a melting pot in there
