Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

I don't have an iron in this conversation as I'm what would be classed as a housewife who does volunteering. Although in the D&A place if I got called in when they were short-staffed I'd got paid minimum wage.
Mr JC works such long hours we don't have much time together so its up to me to keep the home fires burning and I do like my own company.

IamMary..........I made a huge pot of soup yesterday and decided that homemade bread...........nipped up to Tesco and they've got No yeast and hardly a bag of flour.

We need to to do a the big payday shop and I wondered we should wear a placard announcing 'WE ARE NOT PANIC BUYING. WE'VE RUN OUT OF STUFF'

Now I'm off to panic buy some wool. Mr. JC's other secretary is leaving next Friday and I'm knitting her a teddy.

Similar Jacks -- I did the 'big shop' last week -- and I DID need flour and pasta and rice etc... but nearly felt guilty BUYING them -- for some bizarre reason it's toilet rolls that lots of supermarkets are running out of in Ireland -- can't even go there!!!
C'mere -- anyone think this is strange-ish --- we have an attendant at work - lovely man - mid-fifties.. went to have a hip replacement about 3 weeks ago.. now I had a wee scar at the top of my leg - but his is on his bum -- the reason I know this.. is because he sent us a picture of his scar... ON HIS BUM.... is that a bit.... odd? or am I just bein an aul wan?? If he wasn't such a nice man I think some folks would have been somewhat indignant yesterday!

Good morning everyone. Totally agree with you. I went back to work after 20 years and was 52. Lots of younger ones applied but think they went for the reliability aspect.

Absolutely beautiful morning here. Just in from long walk in the woods. Whatever about food think I’ll stock pile some wool and if I have to self isolate will be happy out, crocheting and isolated walks, bliss. You know I wonder if it was here already and not picked up on. Know of a few people who have had similar symptoms and put it down to weird virus. That was weeks ago and they seem fine now. Could be putting two and two together and getting 5 osteroops:

Cross posted there Molly. Can’t help re scar on bum. Satz being in the health industry might be more informed. Why would anyone send a picture of it though  but maybe that’s just me?

Hello Army, Jackie could you see his butt crack in the pic? Hahaha, I think everyone just likes to show off their wounds, kind of a sympathy card in a way, on the retirement thing I still have awhile til that but I always say I'll work til I physically can't, I have so many customers who retire, get bored and go back to work part time even if it's doing something else, one of my favorite customers was supposed to retire last year in Nov and move to Dallas Texas where he owns a house and has some family, he pushed it back to January and I cut his hair the other day and he's now pushed it to next year (he's 76) I guess if you feel good, are able and have a job you love then why not? Everyone sounds great! Have a wonderful day
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

Very late check in. Spent the day sorting out cancelled flight as Flybe went bust. Paid for flight,Paid for car parking, Paid for B&B. Very disappointing but how sad for all the Flybe staff and small airports who are not going to get any work in the forseeable future.

My foot is improving daily however, my 20 mile race isn't going to happen on Sunday as it would be foolish to try and run.

Going to watch Hospital at 9 as it is fascinating and also local

brit..........where were you off to?
Molls, do you think your man pressed send to all. Last thing I'd want to see is someone elses backside. Mr JC's scar was ever so tidy..........hardly a mark now.
There was HUGE delivery lorry outside Aldi...........but there again there might have been one tin of beans in it
Its curry night tonight so no probs with shortages at the local curry shop.
Going to give Hospital a go.

That's a big pity about your race brit.. but hey, there will be another.
rustop59, funny you say that, remember I had that weird virus, like your friend, and I have not been sick for years. I had no problem breathing though. Hot/cold and V achy.

I am EXACTLY the same Molly & JC, I needed flour and other bits but felt I was one of the hysterical ones buying them! Apparently we import all our loo roll from the UK, so we may be up shit creek there.
Im sure people are stocking up on loads of booze, as NS pointed out a week ago, isnt is so lovely not to have that to panic about.

Your mans arse, was it just you he sent it to Molly or did everyone have a goo? Im with Pauly, hes v proud of his wound.
What is the retirement age in the US anyway?

Watching Stranger. It is so good. Fantastic cast!

Maybe we should stock up on food from different shops, so no one suspects a thing. Sound familiar :eek-new: the effort of those days!

Morning to you all.
Australia is sold out of toilet paper. I shit you not. The rest of the world are donning masks and washing hands. We're all fighting each other to accumulate bog roll Coronavirus toilet paper: World responds to panic buying in Australia I ran into a young Mum at the corner shop after work who had spent the entire day trying to buy some for her three kids and some baby wipes. Have you ever heard of anything so bizarre? Now you know what it's like to live here sometimes.
Reading back (said wearily)

Morning and waves to the world.

brit..........what a shame. I spemt two weeks in Jersey and every day we said we'd nip over to Guernsey..........we never did. Its one on my wish list.
Yep, there were a few tears shed at the programme.

byebyebridgetjones..........its getting beyond ridiculous. It struck me that you're an island nation, like the UK and Ireland and many more. We're snookered if imports stop. Although we have a Kimberly Clark within spitting distance of out house.

Chin up and keep the dark humour.

Good morning everyone. Glad it’s not just the Irish who are mad, thanks for the laugh Bridget. Sorry you had to cancel your trip Brit. All our plans could be changed if this continues. Off west at lunch time. His Gaelforce run is tomorrow so will catch up with all of you on Monday. Have a great weekend.

byebyebridgetjones thanks for laugh & the tip off - I'm away to stock up on loo rolls. :llama:
If I can'r buy it I'll steal it from one of the institutions I work at in lieu of decent wages !

Here's bizarre for you.
Was talking to a friend last night - she lives in Dublin. Her refuse company took a photo of her refuse bin & some wet tissue paper and sent it to her with a warning letter that only DRY paper can be placed in the bin ....... I kid you not !
She responded that they had no authority to be taking photos outside her house as her children play there & asked which bin she should dump their letter into :haha:
