MrS has been told in no uncertain terms - this is his last year. It's just too expensive for retirees like us.
Well - I'm still working for my sanity - but not to fund horse racing ..... :Grrrrrr
I'd say the racing IS mad expensive - can't see the attraction (thankfully!) but yeah - you still earning -- you call the shots -- I know I do!!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Evening everyone. Had a lovely weekend, the weather was terrible but they all did great in their races. Ate way too much so back to routine today. Need to have a read back to catch up. See the parade is cancelled. This Coronavirus is getting more serious.

Listen the Queen and her hangers on were all at Westminster Abbey today. Commonwealth Day. Poor woman had to put up with someone screeching Ain't no Moutain High Enough. If she's willing to get out and about then so am I. Mind you she was wearing posh white gloves........perhaps we should get them instead of face masks. Just watched for about 10 minutes and all these little scouts and brownies yawning with boredom made me smile.

Stay at home if you feel even slightly poorly..............I've got slight ear-ache. I've looked at the symptoms and it doesn't mention that. A guide to getting your money back if a gig or something big is called off.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning,
Library open
Still got earache despite the old olive oil cure.
Blowing a hooley outside.
With 300 euros you'll be able to buy mounds of toilet paper. Makes you wonder what the zero hour people are going to do when they have to self isolate.........mmmmmmmmmIt could be worse, I could be filing.

I agree with you Molly on the Media hype about the Corona virus. It's sending folks into panic mode. I went grocery shopping yesterday and the shelves of cleaning products and hand sanitizer were absolutely bare! Plenty of toilet paper though! :egad:Last edited by Jude58; March 10, 2020, 05:06 AM.

What amuses me is that the HSE (health board) is advising anywhere that has a waiting room lawyers/doctors/dentists etc... to get rid of newspapers and magazines - we are literally a melting pot of all in the library -- SURROUNDED by books/magazines/newspapers - and being coughed and spluttered on 50 times a day - but no one seems to know -- or care!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Evening everyone. Totally agree with you Molly. Have not been in the shops but see all the pictures up on social media of empty shelves, madness. Feel sorry for the more vulnerable though. Going to keep doing what I normally do, eat as healthy as I can, exercise in the fresh air and hand wash. Taking a day off next week so won’t be back at work for two weeks. Looking forward to the break.

Good evening all!
Now been to hospital as foot not getting better-- Got hairline fracture so NO running and now on crutches. However not got much pain and perhaps the London Marathon will be cancelled.
Being being injured has rallied (SP) the family-- as I am being treated like a Queen.

I'm just back from the walk-in clinic...........have absolutely mega earache and getting an appointment at my doctors is nigh on impossible............the pharmacist told me to go. PTL its not an infection but congestion. Got to be a Lydia Languish with a heat pad for a day or two with my head over washing up bowl full of steamy waterr and lie with a heat pad on my ear.
About the virus and the press...........Mr. JC piped up about what is happening with the people who have seasonal flu? Whatever else is going on in the world has been sidelined or ignored.
And would you believe it, but the nurse I saw also worked where I used to volunteer in the Alcohol & Drug place. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Well I have been getting messages all day about schools closing down for a month, disaster! We've been told to take our laptops and chargers home every night.
Just back from the Helix, school choirs, lovely night.
Think I'll buy loads of paint, may as well do something proactive if we're all knocking around here for a month.
Good that you know whats wrong now Brit..
Hope the ear feels better JackieClaireAF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Hello Everyone!
Still no toilet paper in Australia! There are fights in supermarkets which just made my jaw drop. I have had the seasonal flu and last three days off work. Stupidly I worked from home instead of sit around eating chocolate in my undies. Dumb arse. There is also a big problem brewing at work and I am so tempted to pretend to be still sick.
A few weeks off Rustop woman? How freaking awesome. Timing's good too.
People keep talking about 'social distancing' as if it's a bad thing. I love it.
Ahh Brit, I've had a foot injury like that. It was incredibly painful and much more problematic than I ever imagined. Feet up girl.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
