Sounds really interesting Molls.

So brit, will the kids get tested for confirmation or just stay isolated? Hopefully they'll get through it quickly.

Took the bikes out today, everyone needed it. No ironing, making lunches or being taxi for the kids.. Like Nora, loads of de-cluttering. I could be at this for a year.
Still, finding it challenging at times with the kids, schoolwork, keeping us all sane, working from home. I am great at hiding it, but I have this twitch in my right eye that reminds me!

Our Taoiseach (prime minister) addressed the nation tonight, very sobering but reassuring. Not that this was going away, the contrary actually, but that we were going to get through it. Well delivered I thought.

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

Good morning Army!!

Well, we are officially shut down as a country as far as shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, etc. go. Only supermarkets, chemists, petrol stations and delivery service being done. We have sold every last mask we have plus full body overalls, nitrile gloves, protective goggles and the such. Sick to the teeth of people calling to ask about masks. Upwards of 50 calls per day and as many e-mails.

I am at work but basically to answer phone calls and get caught up on the bookkeeping which I dislike intensely. However, it has to be done and now is a good time. It looks like this situation will be going on for at least three weeks to a month. The number of customers that can enter the supermarkets are limited - and at the check-out line, each customer has to keep a distance of 1 metre from the person in front of him/her. Chemists are doing the same and some are even serving customers only through a hole in their glass door. Hopefully this will keep the corona virus contained as much as possible. We are now at 331 known cases.

Just a word of caution to you about the protective masks. Ask what level of protection they give you. FFP1 WILL NOT protect you from viruses and germs. The protection level has to be FFP2 or FFP3 - preferably FFP3. Surgical masks WILL NOT protect you. They protect from the inside out - we want protection from the outside in. Also, anything you get from the supermarket that doesn't need to be refrigerated should be left somewhere cool for 24 hours to give the bacteria time to die - 3-5 hours on plastic surfaces, 15 hours on paper surfaces. Anything to be put in the fridge needs to be washed if possible before doing so. Pain in the a@@ but what can we do. Putting things from the supermarket bags into the fridge or cupboards risks you contaminating anything that is already there. Don't think I'm preaching - we have been given cautionary measures to follow and to me they make sense.

On a lighter note - I finally found out why they are buying bog rolls like crazy. The pharmacist next door told me. One person coughs and another 10 people around him sh*t themselves!!

Jacs - good news on Ma and Pa in-law but they should be very careful handling whatever is delivered to them. Disposable gloves and face masks when opening the door. And basically, no visitors at all. And you, my dear, should do what someone else advised, stay home!!! Sorry but with your COPD, you really can't risk the chance of contact or cross-contamination such as buying something from the shop that someone else has touched.

Mrs. A - hope your grandkids recover soon and no germs get passed to you and Mr. A.

Here's hoping that all of us are safe and sound. At least we don't have to worry about stocking up on bottles of AL!! Another great advantage to being sober....

For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

I'm off to get my hair cut. Have to take some chances i suppose.
I go to her house so it will be just me & her in her little attic conversion.

I have work tomorrow with Dr Dreamy - doubt there'll be many worried about a rash or want their moles mapped enough to brave a clinic.
His surgery dates are a different matter - some moles are cancerous - could be life threatening and need removal... :egad:

And then the Nursing home are struggling & want me in Saturday & Sunday.
That bit is scary - but if others can go to the front line - so can I ?

She, who stole my job as full-time receptionist last September, told them to feck off that she's handing in her notice. She then said yesterday she not working her notice and isolating for 14 days before starting a new job... :haha:

They deserve that after how she was treated. I will go in on Saturday & if I am spoken to with less than full respect - I'm gone :llama:
Goes against all my principles to give in but enough is enough.

Evening All,
I have been sneaking around supermarkets fossicking what I can of what is left. Then I decided I needed to stock up on 'things to do' so off I went Bunnings secreting myself in amongst the trees away from everyone and coming home with enough projects to keep me busy for a year.
They are still keeping us at work when we don't need to be there. I still think the penny has yet to drop for some people.
Anyway, I have grounded my parents and hope to bunker down myself soon. What do you do?
When this is over we will have some Tshirts made up to commemorate.
Stay safe all X
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good morning! Nothing much to report. We are well and the grandchildren are recovering at least the cough is getting less and temperature is coming down. They are more fed up with being stuck at home for the duration.

Good morning everyone. Glad everyone is doing ok. Thanks Stirly, had not thought about the packaging have not shopped in nearly a week. Might brave it early tomorrow morning. Woods or rather the car park was a lot quieter this morning. We go off the beaten path so do not see anyone. Don’t need my hair done for another month but like you Satz, I go to a neighbor. Well done on braving the nursing home. Really feel for the older people. I am happy staying home and have plenty to keep me occupied but it is the being forced part that sucks. Stay safe all.

In and out in a flash with my hand sanitizer. I've just noticed it smells of alcohol. And it has to 60% alcohol..........better off buying Russian full strength vodka as most in the shops are just 55%
Luckily the pharmacy is away from the general store the queue there was massive as they've just got some new in.
Over time, we've collected a fair few hand sanitizers as I normally pick them up when I'm in the queue at Aldi and bored. Also many, many packets of almonds and raisins.
Even if we wanted a mask we couldn't get one for love nor money............they're going where they're needed............ the hospitals and clinics.
Yes, Molls, I do have 10% panic and its awful. I'm lucky even with COPD mine's mild.....I'm not high risk.....I know, I know I was scared to death last week but the nurse at the clinic was ever so assuring that if I keep taking my meds (which I've just picked up) I'll be grand.
I've got Mr. JC coming home from work every night if he's got it where the feck do I do with him????
Town was empty apart from the panic buyers of hand sanitizers.

Bridgeeeeeeeeee I've got enough wool.....to knit a house and 6 months of Crossstitch magazine which you get a free project each month so I can sit hunched over them.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Local Sainsbury's opening at 7 am and only letting the over 70's or vulnerable shop for an hour. Anyone want anything?
All of my family now isolated! So need to shop.
