Poor Joe ..... So it affected his lungs that virus -? - Jesus I didn't know he was in a week !

If he has a persistent cough I would still tell him to get a diagnosis now of what damage the virus did ? Has he Pulmonary fibrosis - like scarring on the lungs. Sounds scary but better to know Molls.

I can ask all these questions 'cos it took till my mother was in her 80s to diagnose PF & start treating it.
Working with lead YEARS ago started it off - and every chest infection after that it got worse.

She's 90 this year and stable

      Stable but demented ..........
She & her 'cell' mate are hilarious. They've been together for 2 years and still don't remember each other's names. Or sometimes even that they share the same room. Violet & Rose - with Lily next door.
      :flowerspin::flowerspin::flowerspin:
They've both been on the brink with very serious infections - half dead in fact - next thing like Lazarus they are back in the land of the living.

Afternoon everyone. Think they are lucky Satz, happy in their own world and unaware of what is going on. I went to the shops today, first time in a week. Found the chemist freaky, assistants wearing those plastic shields, like the ones welders use. Tiny so keeping 1.5 meters apart meant only about 3 people could queue inside. Left and went back when empty, only wanted bridge dental floss. Shops were well stocked so got my weekly shop. Strange strange time.

Apparently shops are so well stocked is because they got Brexit ready. Increased their storage capacity x 3. Ireland is bursting at the seams with food. Maybe we'll now stop importing stuff we already grow for export & feed ourselves !

So they are having a great laugh on the way to the bank.
They are also getting a lot more online orders so win/win = jobs for drivers / not as many in-store shoppers spreading virus

Heard Fr Peter McVerry (a saint) on the radio today. He's hoping this will wake us up and make us into a proper society. Individualistic society only taking care of #1 and striving every day to earn as much money as we possibly can will fade away as we need others & they need us.

"COVID-19 exposes how any society built on individualism is fragile, bound to collapse eventually under the weight of evidence that we are all interconnected.
Many of the ideas that we have taken for granted begin to look absurd when considered in the light of this virus. Why do we have a two-tiered health system when we all face threats like this disease on the same footing? Private insurance may have had a function once upon a time, when Ireland was a young nation with a developing economy. To still operate such a system, with its inefficient use of resources and fundamental restrictions based on the ability to pay, when we are a mature democracy with a prosperous economy is obscene."

No it's not and same for me. More like 5mins. They can have their urban life.

No it's not. I'd rather have a kidney harvested than use public transport. The trains are full of loons never mind the virus.

Had a drinking dream so I'm up at stupid O'clock. Maybe we have drinking dreams when we're a bit stressed?

However, I can say that I don't have kids at home like Mary so I'm going to say hats off to you girl!

Work is bizarre. Lots of fake bravado. We're being told to indicate if we want, or have, to work from home but I think they should be just directing everyone who can work from home to do so. Why put the onus on individuals to make the decision? The less people in circulation the better. End of.

I cracked up about the roomies who still don't know each other's names, Satz. Bless 'em.

Evening all -- just in from a very strange eerie day at work -- fuck all fake bravado tbh Bridge.. a lot of very lonely gloomy people - and it felt doubly so because we deal with the public a lot - and it's a public that like us and we like them (it's not like we are Revenue or Social Welfare for instance!) so it's just nearly echoing with their not there voices -- hard to explain. The wish to re-deploy us to horrendous places like Housing Dept. has reared it's ugly head -- I can't do it.. just can't - so keeping my head down as long as I can and then... I don't know - don't know what I'll do tbh

It's only temporary Molls. But the Housing Dept - WTF is that about ? More pressing things to be done now I'd have thought.
I'd imagine HSE's need is more urgent - maybe ringing people about tests etc ?
So tell them 'NO' - you know nothing about houses

Hehehe, loonies indeed, not to mention the late DART (local trains) after say 10pm. Doors open in Dublin around that time and a stinky wave of AL hits you, then the noise, not a place for the faint hearted.

Another person here very happy I live in a field, any time virus or not.

Well given I have a bad cold, I was feeling a little hot and headachy around lunchtime, decide to check my temp and it showed 40.8 (is that even possible?) waited 10 mins and it was down to near normal. Convinced I was infected for that short period, definitively turning hypochondriac in my old age.....going to have to stop watching the news.

Today was grand, theyre getting enough work to keep them going. We live in the sticks, so Im making them get out on the bikes - we are not cool enough for the eldest, but hes still going for a spin.
I know its still a novelty and we haven't resorted to murder yet, but it has been nice, no tearing around, juggling everything - everything has slowed down.

Tabbers, we're all hypochondriacs these days, but still, no harm to call a doc tomorrow if your still feeling dodgy.
Id like to say Im going to have an amazing garden at the end of this, but who am I kidding...

I wonder if you could do the work without relocating Molls... or work from home, like the rest of us!
