Sorry that :hug:was for Molly. Hope Joe is ok. Think it is inevitable that we will all get it but very scary when it is somebody who is compromised. As Leo (our prime minister) said cocoon himself. You too Tabs. One of my crochet friends is waiting to be tested, her SIL has it. Daughter has a health issue and we are facing hospital appointment Monday, scary at the best of times but now I am dreading it. Oh well this too shall pass.

Another person here very happy I live in a field, an me virus or not.
Well given I have a bad cold, I was feeling a little hot and headachy around lunchtime, decide to check my temp and it showed 40.8 (is that even possible?) waited 10 mins and it was down to near normal. Convinced I was infected for that short period, definitively turning hypochondriac in my old age.....going to have to stop watching the news.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Thanks Rusters -- like Tabs he had a temperature last night - but - he also appears to have what my mother used to quaintly call a 'chill in the kidneys' -- he's peeing like there's no tomorrow and he has the chills.. but don't think it's anything but that... I am getting seriously anxious now tho - it has ramped up into another gear today... was going to not go into work to be with him .. but I can't use holidays or sick days in case I need them further down the line - feel torn and worn out.. sorry for whinging folks --- but really not coping very well -- anyone else feel anyway like that?Last edited by mollyka; March 20, 2020, 03:45 AM.Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Think a lot of people do Molly. It is a worry. I was up the walls over daughters appointment being cancelled the other day and having to wait months but thankfully she got another one next Monday. Luckily we had not taken her off our VHI. The letter cancelling the appointment came two days after the actual appointment! Would not inspire great confidence in our cervical screening system. It’s great to have this online source of support. Check in and vent away. Keeping everything crossed that it is a chill in the kidneys.

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Im here.. cocooning.
Plonker in my extended family keeps banging on about the flu being more deadly (therefore, what are we all worried about) - hes seriously getting up my nose this week. I started to reply with the stats, then thought better of it. No point.
Rusters, thats good to hear - its an awful worry. Anything elective or not deemed crucial could get pushed. Glad you got a new appointment.
Molly, Im sure Joe is fine, but no harm to make a call to the doctors when you have a chance.. Could be a kidney infection or anything and might be a quick fix.
Kids have all scurried off on their screens - lunch break. Im being very lenient, its the only social contact they have with friends.
Sun is shining out there. Where are you today JackieClaire?Last edited by IamMary; March 20, 2020, 08:31 AM.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Good afternoon Army!!
mollyka - hope Joe is better soon and that goes for Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB) as well!! I won't preach again about masks and disposable gloves but they really are a necessity.
Things are getting very serious here - the government is considering prohibiting the circulation of all private vehicles - only trucks that supply supermarkets, pharmacies, hospitals, etc., will be allowed to be on the road. Jaysus. Can't imagine what that would be like. The problem is that even tho' the schools, restaurants, stores, etc., are closed - hoards of people are hanging out at the beach - mostly teenagers but also parents with young children, so basically that defeats the purpose of having the places closed if people are going to get together elsewhere. They don't seem to get the "stay the heck at home" message!! So far we don't have a lot of cases of the virus - around 450, I think and the death rate is only 1.5% - much lower than other countries - but the government has put the restrictions in place to try and keep the numbers low. We have a client who has several of the largest hotels in the centre of Athens. Younger son is right at this moment installing black-out films on the front windows of one of the hotels so that no vagrants or homeless people can see inside the hotel and possible think of vandalizing it since they are shutting it down for two months. Kind of scary when you think about it. Not sure where all of this is going but I'm starting to get a bit freaked out TBH.For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

I'm here..........just waiting for Jenny to call. She's now one of the frontlines..............the schools will be open for children of nurses, health care workers, doctors.
Mr JC's in as his boss is a child advocate and virus or not you can't stop abuse from families or leave vulnerable children without care. So while its not his specialtiy he can type after a fashion. He's also doing criminal...they're criminal lawyer's got children to isolate...bit rusty but he keeps up to date. They're a legal aid firm that don't make the big bucks and we've still got a mortgage.
I have made a nest in bed.....we deliberately don't have a TV there......I get up to feed the dog. My anxiety is off the scales and my nose hurts but that's for me to deal with.
I can't give advice because this is an individual choice nor will I pass on rumours.
The only thing I will say that is up here in that far north oft ignored by the south is that the shops are staggering stocking shelves to stop panic buying. Aldi/Lidl are looking for staf................short term for 12 weeks. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Good afternoon--Not on lockdown here yet except for the over 70's and medically compromised (BOTH OF US)
Mr A having some surgery next week not related to his cancer at the moment it hasn't been cancelled so we are keeping our fingers crossed.
Off for a little solitary walk as the sun is shining and I have got cabin fever.
Hope Joe is OK and KTAB it was probably just a glitch on the thermometer.
Keep smiling Army!!!

So here I am at 4am....morning everybody
Listen Molls, do you have 'carer's leave' or other provisions like that, that you can use? Could someone else come and sit with him while you're at work so you/he feel better? Has he had urinary tract infections or kidney infections before? I know it's important for folks to have their library services and I'm sure you are also a huge comfort to them at the moment as well, but family first.Last edited by byebyebridgetjones; March 20, 2020, 12:47 PM.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Jackie the bit I highlight there is worrying me -- why are you closed into your room in bed? Surely that's not good for you? and I get not wanting a tele in the bedroom but when we are all cordoned off like we are, surely the television is a good distraction? and again - I think I missed something but what's wrong with your nose? I send hugs all the way back to you but bit worried bout you?Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020
Hello all, I hope you are all managing to stay as positive as possible during these very troubling times. I am working from home now for the foreseeable and I am counting my blessings that I have a job still as many have lost theres. Mr S is still going in but they have put in some pretty piss poor measures to safeguard them in my opinion. My heart also breaks for the ones who are struggling to get supplies as there are many dickheads here who think its appropriate to stockpile. Grateful for sobriety and at least not having that to worry about. Stay safe everyone
