Re: FORWARD -- MARCH --- ARMY March 2020

Evening all - worked all day today - lovely & quiet. All staying in their rooms except for the few 'wanderers' who always land at my desk wanting to get the bus home.
Visitors were dropping bags of stuff at the door for loved ones & running.:haha:

Because of no underlying respiratory conditions the 8 older folks in nursing home have recovered from COVID-19 - amazing. These are all in their 80s.
I wonder do older folk have tougher constitutions - having lived through much more and been exposed to more germs than the cleanliness obsessed current generation ? Just a thought.

Anyhoo JC is that an anxiety nest you've built there ?

Ms A check in & tell us how you are...

You know, Molls, there's am awful lot we do/ do without being told...........like washing your hands. I've carried a hand sanitizer for years. a) because I hate public toilets and b) because they're never got any soap (or mebbees it just when I'm there) and quite honestly they're vile.

Take care Brit. Keep checking in if you can and rest, rest, rest. You have the advantage that you are as fit as a fiddle.
I put my parents into full isolation yesterday. It was hard for them to get it. Mum kept saying ' Yes, we'll only go out for groceries, not to cafes' and I had to explain time and time again that they are grounded and I would be bringing their bread and milk. In the end I had to cite an old colleague that I ran into from Emergency med and tell her that his parents and grandparents are in iso. They always listen to the wisdom of doctors, even if they are ex pethidine addicts like this one!

For that reason I'm going to make my case for working from home this week. I'm one of the few that can take their supplies to them and how can I do that if I'm isolated myself? I want to take my desktop home like Mr JC. May as well.

Do you know what I was wondering, Molls? All of the books will have to be disinfected when they come back won't they? Are you trying to re-direct people to BorrowBox if you can? I know that's part of my iso plan.

Speaking of iso plans. I'm taking delight in putting one together. So far I have:

Find the hand painted sarongs that I bought in Sri Lanka 30 years ago.
Possibly paint inside walls. Tentative.
Garden.
Read downloads.
Marie Kondo or re-Marie Kondo everything that is now a shambles again.
Stalk old boyfriends on Facebook. Enjoy how bald, fat and dumb they look. Congratulate self on not marrying.
Update CV and plan getaway from lazy, useless moron people.
Amuse family via Zoom
Cook treats and stock freezer
Get sewing machine out and stare at it, frightened. Tentative.

What's on your list people?
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

satz123.............that's very good news.
You've hit on one of the me & himself have been talking about...............I've got four Aunts left (on my dad's side) all back one 92, one 90 just gone and two in their late 80's.Ma & Pa in law have got 185 tears between them and my Granny was a 100 when she shuttled off.
Now then here's the topic they were born before ant-biotics, they used all sorts of home remedies but we have a huge number of over 80s.
I was born 1956 and of course, if you sniffed there'd be a great big bottle of penncilln dropped off by the doctor. Our immune system hasn't been built like theirs.

Poor little Rosie - usually such a jolly little doggie - is not herself
Hopefully all the sleeping she's doing will help?

Doggie experts ?
I really don't want to run to the vets every time she has an off day .

1) She may picking up one the vibes in the house.............everyone is a bit tense.
2) Is the clour of her poop okay?
3) Is she peeing okay?

If 2 & 3 are yes.............just give her water for 24 hours then introduce gentle food like scdrambled eggs or chicken or plain boiled rice.

Really no tension here - unless you count MrS going into a decline with no sport to watch ?
Thankfully we are healthy & even if we did get the virus I'd hope to get through it.
Dunno about Rosie's poo as I was in work today & will be tomorrow - so depending on him to tell me

If you're really, really worried ring the ISPCA and speak to a nurse.

There are NO books being lent out cos we're closed Bridge..we are adding to Borrow box constantly..but the virus dies after 72 hours on any surface..so once we were closed 3 days the books are safe..we are auditing them now which is brilliant..really hard to do when library is busy..so yeah..the books will be fine (half the books are in my house at this stage anyway:happy2

Evening, brit, hope it passes quickly  keep us posted.

Good list there bridge. I have aspirations, but I dont have that much time with the home schooling and Im still, until lockdown, running.
1) declutter, could take years and its so boring.
2) Clean windows, started today, go me.
3) Help Mr M finish outhouse room (also a project with no end, so ridiculous)
4) Paint the front of the house (back is worse, but Im a fur coat no knickers woman)

Actually when I start to think about these lists, i just get exhausted!

Think there will be lots of shrines tomorrow JackieClaire.. Im dying to give my mammy a hug.

Thats fantastic about the 8 patients satz123!
I know italy have an older population, but their deaths are so much higher, proportionately to their cases. Germany, for example, have a fraction of deaths, and have about a third of their cases. Unless there are many cases not being recorded?
starty, great to hear from you :happy2: Hows Mr S, he had just jumped on the wagon there, hope he's doing great.

What about the ongoing late returns when you re-open Molls? Cross that bridge when you come to it I suppose. And when you re-open - God knows when. Leave them in isolation for an incubation period? Iso books.

WASH WINDOWS!!!! Thanks fur coat no knickers.
I can't imagine the Germans under documenting anything Mers , so my money will be on a socio - economic factor.

Just dropped off my little parents' first delivery. They were so sad and tiny standing behind the window watching me disinfect their groceries one by one.

Right. Might hit the garden. The most amazingly beautiful Autumn day is going on out there.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Just got back from Lidl to buy a bag of food for my dog.
Already in line, a woman behind me asked me if I had a dog.
I stared at her (those who know me will imagine my gaze ) ...but then why would I be buying dog food...right?
So on impulse I told her no, that I didn’t have a dog, that I was starting the dog food diet again, and that I probably shouldn't because I ended up in the hospital the last time, but i did weigh 4 kilos less!
I told her that it was the perfect diet and that all you had to do is carry a few biscuits in your pocket and eat one or two every time you feel hungry (I have to mention that practically everyone in line was interested in my story).
Frightened, the woman asks me if I ended up in the hospital because the dog food had poisoned me. I answered...of course not!
I was admitted because I bent down to snif the bum of a German Shepherd and I was hit by a truck
I thought the man behind her was going to have a heart attack...he was laughing so hard!

...Let’s continue promoting reading!
Thanks for the laugh Rusty. that's a ripper.
