Re: International Army April 2020
Evening all.. sounds like you're doing all the right things Mr Chancer!! on every level the first few weeks of what you are going through will be the hardest -- not only tackling maybe more than one addiction - but also dealing with a potential break-up --- or not... the uncertaintly is hard too. Your children will regain trust in you - take it from one who knows on that score - my two youngest were about 15 and 20 when I got sober finally...(is it EVER finally?? but you get my drift) and particularly the 20 year old was extremely bitter towards me - blaming me for everything and also hurting her 'perfect father' ( he self-confessedly is FAR from perfect!! ) - she is now pretty much my best friend... lives in our garden in a wee apt. with her daughter and the turnaround was phenomenal... and when you make your peace with them - you also will with your wife if that's what you want. Keep doing 'the next right thing' -- best advice I was given!
Much cooler here today - worked up a storm in the garden in the last week and it's looking super -- very happy with it.. sorry you're sick again Jacks -- seems to be a litany of illness for you this year... take care of yourself...Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011
contentedly NF since 8/04/14

Oh dear NS I didn't call him an idiot out loud :egad: ..... maybe we shouldn't laugh - the poor man is 'in his dotage' as my mother used to say.
dotage
/ˈdəʊtɪdʒ/
noun
the period of life in which a person is old and weak.

mollyka - good to see you. Glad you got your garden looking super! I'm afraid ours is quite out of control. Waiting for the landlady to call someone to cut the weeds. Hopefully soon before we get a snake infestation or summat.
outofchances - again I am impressed by the way both you and your wife are handling the situation by keeping the lines of communication open. And it sounds like in spite of some heated conversations (which are bound to happen) that you are actually listening to each other. Well done. And some great advice given by the other ladies as far as your kids are concerned and your relationship with them in the future. Things have a way of working out even when we don't think they will. Stay strong!!
As for the US president - about the only thing I can say is that he should experiment on himself and see how it turns out. Jaysus. Has the man gone completely mad?
For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army April 2020
mollyka............the last two years ago when they found kidney trouble and C-diff years been a roller coaster. Must have shot my immune system to bits.
NoSugar.............I :heartbeat: Randy Rainbow.
satz123...........of course I took a double dose. Isn't that an unspoken rule mad by nannas and Grandmas? Who all got to grand old ages without anti-biotics.
mollyka..glad you got your garden done, unfortunately, our plants are still to shoved in and there be storms a brewing........that should keep some of the buggers that are flouting the rules in.
stirly-girly.......he seems to have taken a hissy fit and buggered off......just as ours comes back to work tomorrow. But at least ours knows what the inside of intensive care looks like.
.Does anyone remember when I used to say hello to everyone...........watch out I'll be writing your names on the back of an envelope like the good old days.It could be worse, I could be filing.

fickle when someone texts you later that night for the recipe, you know your on a winner! I increased it by half and they were still polished off, so thank you for that link yesterday :happy2:
We raised about 4k for the local Saint Vincent de Paul charity, so good result.
Lots of socially distant chatting after and a neighbour mentioned that she doesnt drink over the course of a conversation.. my ears popped up and I felt like high fiving her and asking her life story, but I was cool and I shrugged, yea me too, in my least squeaky excited voice (while interrupting her story!).
