Afternoon all. Huge congratulations JC and I echo what Stirly said, thank you so much for being here and for being such a wonderful support. Great news on the job front Fickle. Waves to everyone else. Very blustery out there so I think I will give the walk a miss and continue painting.

Re: International Army June 2020
Had to check the weather to see if we were getting your wind, Molls & Rustletops.
After the faff on with the gazebo, I don't want to be chasing it up the road.
@
Mr JC's just had a wee gathering of three of his neighbours mates for a couple of cans and nibbles under it...............and they've pootled off home.
Watching 'normies' is fascinating.
stirly-girly............poor you and your toofers. I was due a check up back end of March and the dentists are only seeing emergencies. You take care, okay??
We're set fair again for tomorrow...........I'm beyond excited to see Jenny............and I've cooked like its Christmas dinner tomorrow.
Amazing now I've 'come out' with cataracts how many people I know that have had theirs done. It seems to be the height of eye fashion in those over 50.
Now for mindless TV............bliss.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Originally posted by fickle View PostLets see, the mediation went surprisingly well. I am so lucky to have had that opportunity provided. We definitely were able to clear the air. I was right about the danger of him feeling accused if I’d offered feedback myself so very fortunate to be so well supported in them giving that to him. The facilitator was masterly. Part of it was separate meetings beforehand, then a session together. During the beforehand she assessed communication styles and was able to give him feedback on things he’s doing such as talking over, not listening, assumptions he made and the yelling. He kept saying he respects everyone at work with but she showed him he wasn't demonstrating respect. This was a great shock for him as he had no idea what he was doing. She was also very tough on him during the together part and pulled him up each time he did it. It was a breakthrough for him I’m sure. As you know I left that job before because of bad behaviour from former managers and was worried he was being influenced by them. Turns out I was right about that too and was able to tell him what really happened. I could see he was genuinely shocked at what they had done and would never do such a thing himself. We both felt huge relief and there were even a few tears on both sides. I’ve come away with little hand signals I can give him when he’s getting out of line and now that he knows what he’s doing he wants to change it. Things should gradually improve with practice as all the right intentions are there. Glad I can talk about it here as its too confidential to mention to anyone here.

Re: International Army June 2020
Morning all,
Cloudy Sunday here, hoping for some actual rain. Off to do a bit of sewing and ironing while watching the usual Sunday political commentary. I did a 10k walk yesterday so my ankles are a bit sore and recovering. I’ll see if my TV can find the BBC and have a look at Keeping Britain Fed..

I was at the opticians today as well.. My long site keeps improving, but my arm is also getting longer when I'm reading small print
Must look up that programme JackieClaire, looks very interesting. Enjoy the Christmas dinner
Your getting great miles in fickle! well done!
Had to do a 1 mile race in our town today. No age category so all the young ones were racing but I just about made it to the finals. OMG, I was a bag of nerves all day. Lost count of how many times I went to the loo.
Ended up in the furthest lane, worst starting position.
Gun went and we were off in the howling winds. I started to tire half way and I thought about how I could never have dreamed about being in this race 5 years ago and I swear I grew a pair of little MWO wings. I have no great big sober stories to tell about conquering the world, but lots of little achievements that I am so grateful for. So a little random thank you Army buddies, I didnt come last in my local 1 mile race :heart:AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Luckily Mr JC believes that Father's Day is a heap of commercialism and our two are banned from sending cards or pressies........whereas Mother's Day is something religious and has been celebrated for eons.......that's said he's got a card from Jennie and he's going to see his Pa (& Ma) with a card, box of chocolates and his own serene presence. The latter is also to keep in the will.
And its only a few hours until I see Jenny & Ads

Re: International Army June 2020
Are you REALLY that excited:topsy_turvy:??
haha -- don't mind me -- just never THAT mad about my lot... would love the day to myself but yeah - they'll all arrive in dribs and drabs..
Had a row with Joe last night - he really fecking did my head in.. and it was about nothing.. ridiculous little straw that broke the camels back tbh -- but it cleared the air - he had been driving me a bit madder by the day I think.. and I'm tired.. I know I only worked 3 days last week - but it's work I'm not used to - different completely to what I normally do - so had to concentrate -- just old, cranky and tired:egad:
I see Trump even pipped HIMSELF for stupidity last night... good god .. and the woman who was interviewed about not wearing a mask - it is her 'right' to get the virus if she wants to.......................... christ...Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: International Army June 2020
and I want a cigarette... like REALLY REALLY want one.. don't worry - not going to .. but what in gods name is that about -- last time I quit - after a few weeks I literally forgot about them -- had this grĂ¡ on me now on and off for a few weeks...
It's gas really -- if I was living alone there is no doubt in my mind I would smoke again -- sometime -- down the road when I'm really old and no one to nag me -- but wouldn't DREAM of drinking.. still think there's brain washing in there somewhere... good thing!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011
