Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Hi Cowboy! I remember in a lot of AA meetings you were sort of deemed 'long-term' sober if you were over 10 years (mind you - some of the aul lads used to say 30 ;-) ) sober -- so again -- well done Jackie - superduper -Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

EEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeh Pavati and paulywogg...................don't be strangers.
Thanks for the kudos and the cakes. Its always a bittersweet kind of day for me...............luckily I was zonked out of my brain most of the day all those years ago of valium so its a bit hazy.
I knew my body just couldn't take another de-tox or more importantly I just never wanted to see the disappointment and sadness in Mr. JC's or my kid's eyes ever again.
Talked to Jenny, who bless her heart was home from Uni and checking on me, while himself was at work. Its also been a day of refelection.
And of course, there was the doctor who'd read about MWO in an article in the Guardian just two days before. and told me to use it............I'd tried everything else. And to my surprise I had it bookmarked from eight months earlier..........so I did. I lived here, morning, noon, and night. I followed the long-termers............remember KateH! and Doggygirl.........I stalked them.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army July 2020
Imagine the doctor just happened to be reading about MWO before you walked into her door JackieClaire!
HUGE congratulations, you are a HERO
Did not realise Scotland got their bus passes so early! When do they get the state pension? Talk of moving our to 67. Or maybe they have (spot the one who has a good few years to go :crybaby
satz123, I remember reading an interesting article about people testing positive a long time after they had covid. Something to do with residual cells in the body that havnt expelled or whatever they do to go away.. How is she doing?AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: International Army July 2020
Morning and waves to the world,
MWO is at snail's pace first thing...………..had a squizz round the boards and its happening to them.
As it seems to get better towards the evening I may just start posting at 2am. Since the beginning of this virus my sleep pattern's shot to Hell anyway.
It did mean I had time to peel the taters for tonight's dinner and do my roots.
byebyebridgetjones..........thank you, I still remember you re-surffacing just two years ago. I was so happy to see you and your humour.
satz123..............never minded baking my own cake or tooting my own horn now and again. I've spent to many years putting myself down and although my self esteem is not good its a damned sight better than it was.
You know, I often wonder about your SIL and wonder if she's jealous of your sobriety. You're fun, happy, well-dressed and sober.
Alarm just gone off for the rinsing of the bleach.
Now lets see if I press send how quick this will be.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army July 2020
Good morning JC and everyone else to come. You definitely should toot your own horn, you have every reason to be proud. How is your Mum Satz? We really have a lot to learn about this virus.
Horrible day here, inside painting. Did I see Ktab put in an appearance, don’t be a stranger. All the men seem to have disappeared from the thread.

Maybe it's us Rusters -- didn't get our roots done:harhar:
Evening all --- shockin busy day today - aching tired -- himself is still sore (the back) but he's better than yesterday so on the mend I HOPE!!!
There are two people in the world -- that I HATE beyond hate -- one is Trump and the other one is a muppet that works in a branch of the library out the country a bit -- we have history -- enough said... WELL -- she apparently was going into the library during the total lockdown (she lives about 20k from the library so was breaking all the rules) and letting people in to print and borrow books and god knows what --- and she's been found out by the powers that be... I'm sorry - I shouldn't -- I really shouldn't -- but I'm sitting with a smug smile on my face ;-) just letting it unfold now - a pal of mine was working up there yesterday and there were 7 people in the library at the same time (it's a TINY place) and the rule is 2 at a time --- mmmmm luverlyContentedly sober since 27/12/2011
