You won't regret the course. I did it years ago and still friends with the people I met there in 2006.
Bang on NS you nailed it 100%, exactly where I was coming from.
Mrs A, I really feel for you and wish I had some words of comfort. I do know what a strong lady you are, much respect.
Take care.

Bridgeypoos I agree, good stuff Fickle.
Now D Gavin lives not a million miles from me, I do like the guy but he ain’t no Monty, however he is a bit more out there which I like. Do you remember his Chelsea garden in the sky, mad stuff.
Finally, sorry I missed your Birthday Molly dear..If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Oh Brit, you poor thing. It's one thing after the other.
Day one of nil sugar over and appetite already vastly reduced. Looking forward to a great sleep.

Evening All.
brit - poor MrA and it's so tough on you
Take the bit of respite you have now and recharge the batteries.
Laptop died last night. The thoughts of bringing it to somewhere to be made better was irritating me. ( 1st world problem I know)
Did a bit of fiddling with the charger cable then turning on & off and it came back. :yay:Last edited by satz123; August 17, 2020, 09:42 AM.

Re: International Army August 2020
Ah MrsA -- what a dreadful time you are going through -- and it's inhuman times - not being allowed be by our loved ones.. and it's happening to so many - really hard and really sad.. thinking of you all the time - and admiring the way you are getting through -- and yes -- like Benjy says -- use every single bit of respite you can - self care is seriously important for you now.. MrA is being cared for -- now you look after you xxxxContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: International Army August 2020
I'm so sorry your husband is doing poorly and you can't be with him, Mrs A. This pandemic is making a stressful time so much worse for everyone. I hope you hear some positive news soon.
Tabbers, I've taken the thought a few steps further --- Trump being president is a neutral event with our experience of it coming only from how we think about it. I've gotten into some challenging discussions on that but I think this situation proves we live in a thought-created reality. Otherwise how could 40% of Americans feel wonderful about the situation and the rest believe it is the worst thing that ever has happened here? It can't objectively be both.
I'm glad to hear your sugar-free day helped, Bridgette. I'd say if you can give it ~ 3 weeks, your taste buds will have changed and really sweet things will taste awful and naturally sweet foods (blueberries, yams) will seem like a delicious treat.

brit, thinking about you. Hes in the best possible place getting the best possible care now
Hope 1st day back wasnt too stressful rustop59, I think you got the best of the summer.. drizzled here most of the day.
Gardening course is a great idea Molly. I know if I had more time, I would be much more interested in the garden. I seem to spend a small fortune every year, love planning and planting.. Admire it for a week and tell myself what a great gardener I am. Then it all dies.
School plans starting to take form now, bubbles and pods, outdoor classes and online homework. Our secondary school is less organised, its will be a wing and a prayer. When did you say Jenny was back JackieClaire?AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: International Army August 2020
It's the planning and architecture of gardening and planting I love Mary but it needn't cost a fortune..a lot of upcycling for hard features and cuttings and splitting and layering existing plants etc can cost next to nothing..the time is trickier...i think proper gardening and a full time job are totally incompatible unfortunately!!Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: International Army August 2020
Just watched Michelle Obama speech from yesterday. Amazing.
IamMary..................Jenny goes back on the 8th of Sept. Also her birthday. She would have been in this Thursday for her kids exam results, but because of you know what they can't congregate en masse yet.
Its too complictaed to explain but have a look-see at the UK press about algorithms and u-turns.
And you know no-one's clear about how this return to school is going to happen or how. Its not so much in the classroom its between lessons, breaks and of course when they all squeeze on the bus to get home.
satz123.............is it the ye oldie steam laptop from the stone-age.
mollyka..............will you calling your plants by their Latin names..............although I did look up what a carrot was in Latin and its Carota.
Bess has got some new medication prescribed over the phone for lets just say for her 'tummy' problems. We're seeing the vet tomorrow night. I don't want to loose her but I don't want her suffering. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army August 2020
Evening all,
My elderly retriever is oddly experiencing the same thing at the moment, JC. First time in 12 years she has ever thought twice about eating. Hope poor old Bess feels better. Life as an elderly dog eh?
Absolutely right Molly; full time work and gardening is just a sad compromise. My next campaign is to go part time at work - at the higher rate I think I can afford to do it.
I was thinking about Arsy the other day and wondering how he is. Anyone a Facebook friend?
How are you going down there Mr G? Still working through your stage 4 lock down?
Different world isn't it Mers? I suppose the kids will just assimilate it all quickly and get on with it. They're so adaptable. The rest of us are still watching all of this in stunned horror.
I've just seen the time. Another late dinner for me.
How are you going with it Fickle? If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
