Re: International Army August 2020
Good morning Army!!
Just wanted to thank you all for your birthday wishes. We had a lovely meal and then a drive beside the sea and ice cream!! Dark choccie with glazed orange rind for me - banana stracciatella for my guy!! Life is good when you are sober.
JackieClaire - hope you are feeling much better today.
Wishing you all a day as best as it can be...Last edited by stirly-girly; August 26, 2020, 04:30 AM.For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army August 2020
Morning and waves to the world,
brit................you and Mr B were never far from from mine and Mr JC's thoughts. I'll give him a ring when I finished this post.
stirly-girly.................sounds wonderful. Jealousy abounds. Much better today..............of course I spent three days googling the virus with a thermometer stuck in my mouth.
The car's in for its annual MOT, new tyres and a service............I'll be starting a GoFundMe page We're leaking money at the moment. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army August 2020
Morning everyone. Lovely news to wake up to, am sure you enjoyed your sleep and hopefully your run Mrs A. 14 hours Fickle, that would be like us driving to Stirly. You can cross the whole country here in about 3.5 hrs.
Glad you enjoyed your birthday Stirly and good to see you posting and feeling better JC. Drove daughter to airport, she was sad leaving, she was very lonely during lockdown, she’s an extrovert so it did her good to get home and see friends. Good luck with the decluttering Mary. I am doing it gradually room by room. Books used to be a big one for me but have stopped buying them. I now use BorrowBox or Kindle. Need to get back to painting again, have one room left.

Re: International Army August 2020
Afternoon all
Gym @ 6.30 am - shopping in Tesco done - bread made - lamb in oven to slow cook.
Now me & Rosie having our afternoon lie down.
I wish I had a project like painting - but I'm crap at it...... so is MrS.
I want a new front door , new carpet in bedrooms - lots of stuff but I can't be arsed to start to look into it.
This being at home in lockdown is lethal - cos I see all this stuff.....:egad:
A lot to be said for the blissful ignorance we have in winter when sunlight is non-existent and we're out in the dark & back home in the dark :haha:

Re: International Army August 2020
Here's a random thought.
Sanitiser is 70% alcohol - many alcohol manufacturers in Ireland have a sideline now in hand sanitiser.
The kids are bringing bottles of it in their school bags :egad:
They add something to make it bitter so we won't drink it : since when has bitter ever stopped an alcoholic ?
Do you think that could become 'a thing' for those who can't afford alcohol ?

When I was young I worked in a variety store - you know, everything from clothing to toiletries to candy. There was a man who used to come in every Saturday and buy a bottle of aftershave. High AL content in that too. The smell/taste of it never bothered him. He was after the high!! Gave me the creeps. So hand sanitizer smelling like lemon sanitizer and tasting bitter? Prolly won't stop them....For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Re: International Army August 2020
satz123.................its been done. Another one where ther's masses on google. Some prisoners in jail in the US (now I can't find the link) mixed it with a nice minty mouthwash to make a bizarre cocktail...it made them hideously ill and drinking its been known to kill.
I know re-habs won't allow mouthwash with alcohol in it. My friend Norm was most put ut when he had his consficated and I won't use it.
Can You Drink Hand Sanitizer or Get Drunk on It?
One of the saddest addicts I've ever seen was someone addicted to Covonia cough medicine. He used to beg on the streets near where I volunteered at the D&A place then do his rounds to all the pharmacies.
I'd lay a bet a young 'un will try it. But surely a parent or guardian would notice they're shelling out frequently for 'lost' bottles. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army August 2020
I had a quick logon earlier and was delighted to hear MrA was doing well brit.
I suppose hand sanitiser will be no different to sniffing toxic markers satz123. Some will try it, most will think its gross, the odd one might want to take it up a level. maybe..AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: International Army August 2020
Morning and waves to the underoos,
His Royal Highness of do as I say not as I do Cummings is back in the papers as there were sightings and photographs of him on a second trip under lockdown about five days later............ Boris the Blusterer is in deep shit for caming on a farmers land without asking and lots of other stuff .............prolly be gone withing six months.
One can dream.
That was the end of the politic broadcast for the day...............I'm not going to mention the Orange tinted one as he scares me just a little bit.
Other than that I thought I'd wet the bed last night................. I hadn't. I'd been tidying the bedside table ( basically getting rid of chocolate wrappers) and left a packet of wet wipes under the duvet and sat on them and they'd leaked. What a carry on.
Jenny & Ads minus Buddy (he's going into kennels) are up Monday to pick up the rest of our camping gear as they're going to Kielder for a few days next week.
Bess continues to amaze us ................Mr. JC's talking to her vet later on about pain management for her arthritus. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army August 2020
I had to pop in to see how Mr A is doing and am so happy to hear he's doing well. Warmest wishes brit to you all and I hope he is home with you soon.
Horrified by that hand sanitiser article.. who'd have thunk it! :egad:
I don't think there is any internet where I'm going but I'm taking my laptop just in case.
Will be thinking of you all and keep up the good work. :bigwave:

Re: International Army August 2020
Good Lord, drinking hand san....remember 'When a Man Loves a Woman' when they took Meg Ryan's perfume off her going into rehab? I was thinking Oh for God's sake, but really, who knows where it was going to end?
Hope Mr B continues to improve. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
