Re: International Army August 2020

Afternoon all.:hug::hug: Brit, thinking of you today. Totally agree Molly, time and more time is needed for gardening. I’m like Mary, start off great and then get side tracked and you get everything lovely go away for a week and come back to a jungle. Growing old is not for the faint hearted, hope your golden oldies get over this latest tummy trouble. You are giving them the best possible care, can’t do any more.

Things are a mess with the schools, they really want to get them back here. Fear we could be facing more restrictions. Yea Bridget, was only thinking of Arcy and a few others the other day. Check in guys if you get a chance. Off to get some lunch.

Just popping into say nighty nght.
@byebyebridgetjone....ta for the lemon drizzle....bit of paprika chicken with much veggies left in the fridge.

fickle....your gigantic salad reminded me of when Mr. JC was at SW..................rather than a few beers of a night he'd make a giant bowl of mixed sald and sit watching the football with it.

And Bess rallies once again. We'll still take her to the vets got some pretty good anti-poop stuff and she's been like a spring chicken today and I'm zorsted.

NoSugar......always a pleasure to see you.

 and :heartbeat: all round.

Well, be glad you didn't choose a fuzzy 65 lb Golden. Whenever I am on the floor, she tries to figure out how to sit in my lap :haha:

Watching it all going on JackieClaire, nightmare for kids. No happy ending on that story.

Very true on the gardening Molls. I got a strimmer with a rechargeable battery just before lockdown, 40 mins strimming. I love it. Its not proper gardening but its a start. rustop59, youd love it!

Few more restrictions here again, we cant be quite as social - nothing we cant handle.

Re: International Army August 2020

Good morning everyone. Ha ha NoSugar, we have one of those, he was carried and petted so much when he was little and sick that he now thinks he is a lapdog. They are like kids Satz, sometimes they need reassurance and are a bit clingy, probably because something frightened them. With Rosie it might have been the thunder.

I got one of those Mary, brilliant. I also have battery operated blower and hedge cutter so I have all my own tools, makes life much easier.

Off to pick my daughter up. Oslo airport is like a ghost town. Strange, she told me bring disinfectant to spray down her suitcase and she has a change of clothes with her. Her friend told her Wicklow not bad we only had 5 cases yesterday. They have had 5 since April! We are off their green list since yesterday so she will have to self isolate when she gets back . Will probably get worse over autumn, winter so that’s why she wanted to get home. Thinking of you Brit, hope all is going well.

No idea. Was it her usual groomer? Have you checked the weather forecast?

:harhar: Its because he/she loves you. We've had two Labs and they have no idea of personal space. Before arthritis struck our Bess she thought she was a lap dog even when you were on the settee. You had to peer over her shoulder to watch TV.

Evening all.
Another busy day in the workplace/spare bedroom.
A project that we have been working on - to do with Covid-19 - is just about to level out and I could not be happier. I will be glad to see the arse end of it. The amount of WHS implications for this bloody disease is beyond belief.
Is your daughter able to go back and not go back to work Rustop? I suppose people just take additional leave do they?

That's three days down sans sugar. Hoping for a good night's sleep tonight. I actually got the 3am wake up calls eating sugar. Astounds me how much like alcohol abuse the sugar abuse is. I've rejoined WW because I like a good project and the Connect forum gives me some perusing to do of a night.
Glad to see that Bess is back on her feet, as is my girl.

Good afternoon Army!! Evenin' Bridge and Ficks if you're around!!

brit - Mrs. A, hope things are better for Mr. A and of course, for you and your family.

JackieClaire - glad to hear that Bess is back on her feet. Same with byebyebridgetjones girlie. I remember yonks ago when you had posted a pic of her that she had gotten into some kind of sticky weeds and her tail was full of them.

satz123 - have you ever had Rosie "sheared" before? Or just a trim, bath, pedi, etc. I have heard that dog's feel uncomfortable for a few days after they have their coats clipped very short, if they're not used to it. They feel strange and need lots of attention....

mollyka - in reading back I see I missed your birthday. Hope you had a lovely day!!

Weather gorgeous here today - high of 30C but with a cool breeze. Reminds me of August in Ontario!

Just checked the Covid figures - 250 new cases again yesterday. Special friend and I are going away for the weekend. I am really looking forward to it - so badly need a change of scenery. I don't like to complain but I am really very tired of having to wear a mask everywhere. I used to love shopping, now I can't bear to even go to the supermarket for more than the bare necessities. Anyway, I shouldn't complain. Lord knows the front line workers have it a lot worse than we do. And I think it's going to be with us for a long time coming....

Hope you are all well and enjoying your day. Waves to anyone I didn't mention....

No Biddy I don't mind her sitting on me - but the grooming on Monday was severe & she was in there 3 hours because she was a little matted. Which BTW is always my fault - FFS !
What worried me was she was not herself and all scared, timid and yes rustop58 like a child clinging to my skirt ( not literally - 'cos I rarely wear a skirt) :haha:

On the COVID front - they took a full hour last eve to tell us nothing much.
Locking up the over 70s again even though the worst offenders now are the under 40s having piss-ups in Cork & Kerry, migrant workers ( they let in without testing or even follow-up).

I can see the 'Blue Rinse Brigade' marching in protest down O'Connell street soon..... :cuss::cuss:

Just back from the vets........made the appointment Monday when Bess was at her worse......£152 lighter and a bag full of medication :egad:
We've got anti-biotics, worming tablets, painkillers and stuff to help her with the trots.
Honestly, hand on heart if she was not still full of bounce and cheekiness we know what the right thing to do is, I couldn't bear her to suffer.

You know after all the scientists at Oxford working on the virus vaccination were women, all the vets tonight were women. The world has changed when I wasn't looking.

satz123.......poor wee Rosie. You know I would give the groomer a ring and ask her about what Rosie's behaviour was like while she was in there.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Don't know anything about dogs so no use. I do like friendly non barking dogs.
Another difficult few days. They thought the cancer had spread throughout his body and he had further cat scans, so after a 24 hour wait for results no more cancer was found. He still has lesions on his brain which are bleeding.
He is being sent to a specialist neurology hospital this morning. Because of Covid I cannot go with him, however I am allowed to meet him there as they want be fully informed by me of the sequence of events leading to his brain lesions and bleed.
Daughter from Norway arriving this morning.
Hard times! Thank you for your supportive words and posts.

Good morning everyone. Thanks Brit for checking in, am glad your daughter is coming home and that the cancer has not spread. Look after yourself and lean on us whenever you want.

My daughter arrived yesterday, so good to see her. Unfortunately we are being put on their red list two days before she gets back. However think she can be tested at airport on way back and if negative can have another test week later and if she has two negatives can go back to work. Pain but she is just glad to be home and God knows what the autumn /winter will bring.

Glad Bess is doing good. You will know when the time comes JC, enjoy this precious time with her. Did I tell you I met 18 year old Yorkshire on hols, stone deaf but happy out. We had storm Ellen last night. Slept through it, better get up and see what the damage is.
