Re: International Army August 2020
Morning and a yoohoo to the world.
brit..........you're a trooper all right. Give Mr A a big hug from the Army.
Jenny's got her exam results today......... (well, her pupils have) and she's nervous. Unfortunately she's got a 'Karen' mum who's expecting high results and they won't be forthcoming from her little girl (aged 16) who is going to go berserk .............she's been up all night trying to put...........'Well, you're little darling is as thick as brick who doesn't listen, couldn't give a flying feck because she's going on Love Island (or so she thinks) spends most of her classes gazing out of the window, raking through back pack looking for her mascara and poking her nose '............into polite words.
Got Virgin Media digging up the pavements so we can get their broadband. Wonder if we choose them we'll get money off.
Her Royal Highness is just lying on the floor snoring and farting. We were warned that some of the meds would make her drowsy..........they were right. It could be worse, I could be filing.

I've not worked or gone anywhere but Lidl and the vet (or so it seems) I just don't know how I've filled my days as the house is a tip but I have and I flop into bed as if I've just done a full day down a coal mine.
Jenny's made front page of the local rag in her town.........well, you can see her quite clearly in the background ....and in reality, there are probably less than a thousand readers....but I'm a proud mammy.....as the kids got their exam results. Her kids have done her proud.
And the S&H has got a date to start with the tax office. 21st Sept. He's got a final interview with Aldi tomorrow...........if he gets that he's just going to keep that one in his back pocket as a safety net.
Good grief, this post has taken half an hour..............had to keep stopping to talk to Mr. JC's about Bess's gastric problems. Which are nil today. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: International Army August 2020
Evening all
 MsA
Whatya going up north for Molls ?
We're still in lockdown .......
It's time this government stopped saying "we'd like if you would" : "maybe yiz might consider" : "the guideline is".
Make it law and fecking get on with it. It's what they understand. The same people who wouldn't wear a mask until it was compulsory - they just don't have the brains to see the logic - so need to be told.
Arrest those not complying , shut down the pubs that flaunt the law.
People are dying while you dither around.
TELL people what to do if they want to get the virus under control.

satz123........couldn't agree more.
Remember when England went form Stay Inside to Stay Alert................we were bamboozled.
I read an article about our oldest pub in town...............dates back over 300 years. Bunch of 30 something women wrecked the ladies toilets.
If you're over the limit for driving after a couple of pints how do they think a bunch of drunks going to handle a pandemic.
How's wee Rosie? It could be worse, I could be filing.

Yep, totally agree JackieClaire, drunk people and small kids dont have the sense to socially distant. But at least small kids will try and not be obnoxious about it. Well done to your Jenny.
Molly, you are right, Sky are useless. I have been trying to get through to them for a couple of days and its hopeless (no satellite connection). In the end, I sent an email cancelling the account. 35 mins later, I get a call. Engineer will be out next week. They must have moved everyone to the cancellation department
Fleeting wine notions passing through my head as friends post holiday pics today.. Lala land of course, nothing that a fast forward scene doesnt fix.
brit, hope the prognosis is good. Glad your daughter is there too. And yours too rustop59. They could have almost passed each other on the way home :happy2:AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: International Army August 2020
Good morning everyone. Yea you are right Mary, seems airport was practically deserted. Stay strong and close. Very unsettling again and you have the angst of kids going back to school. Well done Jenny and proud Mama.
Absolutely lashed rain here yesterday, nice just hanging out with my daughter. Enjoy your break Molly. I’m going again next weekend to posh hotel in west, last hurrah for summer. Hope to get walk in this morning.

Re: International Army August 2020
Good morning everyone. Bad news it is a large primary Brain tumour. Beyond devastated! My girls are here with me and I am bringing him home this morning before he has surgery on Tuesday. With all this Covid I am not allowed to see him but I demanded (coaxed) the staff to let me see him in a side ward last night. .
Cleaning the house with my girlies at the moment!

Re: International Army August 2020
Oh Brit, so sorry about what you are going through :hug: glad you have your girls there with you. Just read this somewhere else and it is really all you can do. Take care of yourself.
My grandmother once gave me a tip:
In difficult times, you move forward in small steps.
Do what you have to do, but little by little.
Don't think about the future, or what may happen tomorrow.
Wash the dishes.
Remove the dust.
Write a letter.
Make a soup.
You see?
You are advancing step by step.
Take a step and stop.
Rest a little.
Praise yourself.
Take another step.
Then another.
You won't notice, but your steps will grow more and more.
And the time will come when you can think about the future without crying.

Re: International Army August 2020
Big step made today to get over my FOGO............I'm going to the hairdresser tomorrow morning.
Next step is getting the Metro or a bus on my own.
Its weird or is it normal, that Jenny and I used to fight like cat and dog............ I never thought I'd see the day when I'd say she's my best friend and now she is .:heartbeat:It could be worse, I could be filing.

I think they realise we're not thick and the phrase "Mam told me that years ago " is used.
Since she got her own place she says she's picked up my habits e.g. strategic cushion placing on the settee. ( which my own mother told me will make a room look tidy even if it's not)

I am angry at the hospital that wouldn't let you see him. That is just wrong. Yet you can bring him home today. Defies logic.
All you need to do is gown up.
