For the birthday gal!

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Now that's my kind of cake, Cowboy!! I love dark chocolate - it's the only kind I eat. Thanks for remembering !!

Hope all is well in your part of Canada. Here in Greece we have been having Ontario summer weather. Reminds me of when I was young and camping on the lakes in Ontario. Hot sunny days, but not sweltering. Just perfect, really. You probably have lower temps in Alberta now. My cousin lives in Lethbridge and I know they have cooler weather there. Again, thanks for the cake!!

Dropped him at the hospital at 7 and managed to take him to the ward. I was supposed to leave him at reception and he was to make his own way to the ward. I never slept at all last night but luckily he slept well.

Tried to have a sleep when I got home but the hospital rang me, wanting his medication details ( just as I was nodding off.)

Girls coming at lunchtime--The hospital will ring me when he is out of Theatre.
I am so nervous and worried! Nice to be able to have your support.
Thanks for the wishes, Mrs. A. I keep checking in to see if there is any news of Mr. A....

:balloons:HAPPY BIRTHDAY STIRLS:balloons:

Thinking of Mr A and praying the operation goes well and you can have him home again soon Mrs A

I have had a hectic weekend with two youngest having birthdays and lots going on. Youngest was also moving out to first share house with friends so was helping with moving and curtains etc.

My decluttering is a non-event. Instead I am getting my parquet floor polished. It was a project where we sanded it back and tried to put tung oil on it but the oil wouldn't take because of whatever it was painted with in the 70s made it repel. We've been living on it while I scratched my head. Finally have decided on getting it waxed but it took ages to find anyone who does that these days. So tomorrow I have to move all the furniture out of the living area which means emptying all the china cabinets etc.. moving the fridge etc. It will all be worth it to have finished the floor. On Friday I'm driving north to my holiday. Is a 14 hour drive so staying overnight somewhere along the way.

Thanks for that link Mr G to Ballylliffin - what a spectacular landscape!

Morning all. I was wide awake at 5am so pottering around the place. I love getting up early. Mainly because I can now. fickle, that's exactly what I want, a wax finish, sort of matt - no shine. Didn't realise you could get it any more either. Don't worry, the decluttering will come. I'm starting to think about a jolly good Spring clean myself.

Hope Mr B is recovering well, Brit.

JC, you need electrolyte replacement. Hydralyte or similar. That's why you're so tired.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STIRLY!

Evening everyone. Happy birthday Stirly and congratulations to your special friend. Hope it’s only a 24/48 hour bug you have JC. Glad you managed to get as far as the ward with Mr A and that he has come through the operation ok.

We are getting some of storm Frances here, lashing rain all afternoon. Working week over, daughter going in the morning so trip to airport early.

fickle.............our idea of decluttering is to get those gigantic boxes from IKEA and shove them in the garage,
Our niece is moving into a flat shortly............I should let her have a poke around in the big boxes to see if there's anything she needs.

mollyka..........can't beliieve she's old enough for nursery.

I've got those sachets, Bridgeeeeeeeee. I've been guzzling water down at the mo. Although a friend sent me a good remedy boiled milk with pepper. I'll try anything.

Safe travels to your daughter, Rusty.

Himself just back from giving plasma better go and be nice and try and remember which arm it came out in case I nudge him.

Will try and check in before bedtime so see how Mr. A got on.

No word on MrA? Im sure Brit is exhausted.

Happy birthday stirly-girly!! hope you had a fabulous day :sendflowers:

14 hours driving fickle! that would take me a week, and another week back.

Decluttering started, Mr M going through each bag for 'important' stuff that he hasn't missed in years. Hes a hoarder. And reads a lot, but wont part with any books. I may need to continue under the cover of darkness.

Got a call from the hospital at 10pm last night. He was back from theatre and had a drink of tea and was talking.

I was exhausted and went to bed and SLEPT. I have one of my daughters staying with me. She is my Norweigien daughter and a fast runner and I think we will go out for a little run in a bit.

Thank you Army for being there for me.
