I came back from holidays full of positivity but am starting to feel defeated again with work. The house as well. I've made a sensible plan but am having trouble moving ahead with it so sitting tight till this frame of mind passes. Funny how there are good days and not so good days. This too shall pass haha
JackieClaire hope your neck is feeling better soon
brit what an inspiration! I'm 54 and would love to imagine I could start running or even dancing if I lose a little more weight. I'm not sure with my hips and ankle dramas if I can but its nice to imagine I might!

fickle.....sounds like a bad case of post holiday blues.................or severe ennui. Its not nice.

NE of England expected to go into lockdown as of Friday 8pm. That rule of six lasted all of four days.

I'll say night night now because I'm puzzled, angry and generally well and truly pissed off.

Thank you everyone for your lovely words. I am surviving. I think the numbness started to wear off today so I've had a couple moments. But, I am managing. My son & family came over yesterday for several hours. I had a wonderful time playing with my granddaughter. It was Grandma, come here. Grandma, come here. LOL She is just over 2 years old now and so much fun.

Again, thank you all. :heartbeat:

How is COVID where you all are? Do you wear masks, etc? Everything seems to change daily here. We have so many people that don't believe it is anything more than the flu. Then we have my husband with COPD that we are doing everything we can to stay safe. Our state still requires masks but I don't know how long that will last. I was just curious how it is in the rest of the world.

Just popping in to wish everyone a great day. I am in a very covid-safe bubble in that my city has no cases so even though most people are still working from home, and many have started back to the office at least part time, I notice many are not taking the precautions they should be when out and about. Shopping centres are crowded. If only one case got in here it will be bad. Whereas my brother and family are in Melbourne and were only allowed out of their house for 1 hour masked exercise each day for months. Things are tentatively lifting there at the moment - they allowed 2 hours of exercise now. We shall see if it lasts.

Nora, so sorry for you loss  Imagine she was a great Grandmother! It will be sad, but lovely to have your family close over the next few days.

We all do wear masks (over 12s), but lots of restrictions, like for funerals and weddings, gatherings in your home etc.

Like you JackieClaire, Dublin might go into the next restriction phase by the weekend, our numbers are increasing.
Hope they let you back in satz123 :haha: have a fabulous time.

We (Ireland) have a new road map now with 5 phases. Its a joke already. We are all in phase 2, but Dublin are 2 and a bit.. they make up special restrictions for the bit. No idea what it takes to move up or down. Clear as mud.

fickle, it could also be post holiday blues. I am slightly behind you in age, so we can both be in awe of brit, only starting to run at 65! I may start stalking you now #myhero :heartbeat:

Morning all! The 2nd wave is well and truly making it's presence felt...BUT...I look at some countries where it seems truly out of control and I do feel it is being taken seriously here..most are wearing masks..and they are compulsory indoors in most places...the police now have powers to break up house parties which seems to be what is causing the recurrences ..and we just have to hope that folks stick with the rules and we should get through...the difference in countries is profound tho...don't think we'll be lock down like before but talk of us having to stay in Dublin except for essential travel...
Your little grandchild should be great for you during this sad time Nora...sending hugs xxx

So glad to hear that you had a visit from your granddaughter. Aren't they a delight at that age. My grandson is close to 4 and I just love playing with him and spending time with him in general. They are so full of curiosity at that age and show us how the world is through their eyes. Nothing matches it. And your wee one arriving later in the year. You are blessed, Nora, as are all of us lucky enough to be grandparents. Thinking of you....

Good morning Army!!

I imagine the Satzy wan has arrived in this fair land. Hope you have a great holiday, Satzer!!

As for Covid - we are very stable in our numbers. 310 new cases two days ago, 311 yesterday. Reported cases that is. Lord knows how many unreported cases there are. It is mandatory for masks to be worn in closed areas. A delivery guy just delivered my bagel order. First time I ordered from them. Guy was not wearing a mask. I told him he's supposed to. He said he forgot. I called the company and complained. Fidiots. Makes me furious. Mind you, now that the schools have opened, the cases will skyrocket even tho' they are all wearing masks. Unfortunately, I predict a new lockdown in the next couple of months. Otherwise we are going to have a very serious problem on our hands what with the usual cases of winter flu plus Covid - there won't be enough hospital beds and respirators, etc., for all the patients. Somewhat pissed off myself, JackieClaire. As soon as the restrictions were lifted, everyone started hanging out together, no social distancing, nothing. Only us older folk and even then, it is difficult. We have kids and grandkids. We are in contact with others at our workplaces and even wearing masks is not the ultimate protection if others don't take precautions as well. Nuff of that.

It's another beautiful day. I am alive, I am healthy and best of all, I am sober!!!

Wishing you all a day as good as you can make it.

brit - please check in dear lady and let us know how Mr. A is doing.

tonyniceday - time to get yer butt back into the barracks. Now that Satz is on vacation, you've got kit hen duty!! Bring that Tabbers man along with you.....

Morning and waves to the world.
I thought it was Friday........my days are just blurring into each other. So today I can stuff my house with five strangers if I so choose asof 8pm tomorrow only Mr JC is allowed in but that's only if he brings chocolate.

NoraC......the majority are wearing masks.......I've got COPD although its mild at the moment so strictly speaking I don't have to wear a mask............but I do. Part of that is I can breath quite easily in one thanks to the meds and the other is because I'll be blowed if I have to produce my health records to anyone other than the police for not wearing one. So I don't judge if I see one of the few without a mask.
My poor MIL was in tears last week (she's 95) with all her facilities. Her and Pa-in-Law (he's 91) got entangled in the bubble thing, who and how many are allowed in their house. Did Jenny's fiance class as family or stranger that kind of thingShe's normally so level headed having been a nurse all her life and it broke her.

The numbers will climb again from next week.............the Universities are open.

Its hard to compare country to country we have different health systems. But while our cases are up we are coping there's few deaths. By that I mean around five a day but that is still too many in very humble opinion.
It could be worse, I could be filing.
