Its absolutely baltic...........could be November.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Laughin at MrJC I was working with a long haired music man yesterday ..he manages bands and things in his spare time...none of us could ever work out what age he is...anyway yesterday he was trying to remember a name...wouldn't come to him..and I just said 'wait till you're my age you won't remember your own name'...he whispers to me 'I'm older than you'
I was GOBSMACKED ..just goes to show...it's really a state of mind!

Happy Sunday all!
Heading out into a beautiful spring day for a bit of gardening. Recent rains mean the earth is soft so good time for me to tackle the giant weeds that have sprung up since the end of winter. It's been snowing nearby and was minus 1 overnight so pretty nippy but with the sun shining, am hoping its not too cold. Forecast top of 13 is not very encouraging but I'm on my second cup of coffee so will do my 7k walk first to warm up.
Will have a read back laters

That gas Molly, maybe it was the long hair that made him look younger, I must try that! Although once it reaches my shoulders, it drives me mad.
Went out for a walk before dinner with my youngest, something we never do, its always running or cycling. She is quite the walker (and talker). We are both delighted with our new found hobby.

Thats one think Bridge I thought Id never be able to do without serious cravings, cook. Of course drinking and cooking were a lethal combination, a single bottle of wine never lasted long. Id put a dash into the dinner to convince myself that's where all the bottles had gone.
Anyway, I was wrong, I can cook just fine without.

Let me know how that book goes Rustop. I did enjoy Asking for it. Well maybe not enjoy, it gripped me. Gave it to my older daughter and she devoured it. Not sure if had any impact, time will tell (its about a young girl who is gang raped at a party, shes so out of it, she hardly remembers.. the community siding with the boys. Not an easy read).

Good morning.
Mr A came home on Friday evening with a full package of care. Hard work but glad to have him back. I am sleeping on a camp (type) bed next to his hospital bed. (Sleeping better there)
I just thought I would update you--Although it is now palliative care I am able to cope so much better.

Good morning everyone. Thanks for checking in Brit and letting us know. Have been thinking of you. It is great that you have him at home with you and that you are managing to get a little sleep. Stay strong and take care of yourself.

It is indeed a beautiful autumn morning. Just did the cliff walk with the doggies and Molly has just reminded me that I have bulbs somewhere so better dig them out.

An odd thing to say at this diffcult time but I'm glad he's home with you. Take care of yourself as much as you can.

:hug::hug::hug:

Must away to the shops. We didn't get the big shop done yesterday.

Like Jacks says I am so glad you are home together...it is a special time now for both of you..bless you Whizzy..I'm not a big hugger but i truly have an overwhelming urge to give you a mighty bear hug.
I know you are a trained nurse but let the carers do the work now and be a wife and just be kind and gentle to yourself
Loves and loves xxxx

Yep Stirls - our lovely village of Assos is washed away. The villagers are desolate. No, food, water , electricity ..... we stayed in Athens for 2 nights without having to leave the hotel & then Lassi - south of the island.

Health & Safety in Greece second to none from what I could see. Airports excellent too.
Easyjet & Ryanair were exemplary in their promotion of health measures to stop spread COVID19. If you let the mask slip down your nose - they were on you in a flash.
I felt safer there than in Dublin or Kildare & surrounds. Literally EVERYONE had a mask inside & outside. Removing only when seated to eat.

.
I feel really bad about Satzy being here and all this horrible mess. Not that I can do anything about it. I thought of starting to call hotels and see if there are people registered with her surname but when I started to look the list is really long - almost 200 places from hotels to airbnbs. Where to start. The pics from the area are very upsetting. Homes flooded with mud, cars, trucks, etc., half or mostly buried under tons of rocks and mud. Just don't know what to say. There have been no deaths reported but there is mention of people trapped. I imagine they have no electricity, therefore no WiFi. Don't know if there is any way to contact her daughter on FB. I just looked up her daughter and she hasn't posted anything since 2012 so obviously no way to contact her.
Thank you so much for worrying about me Stirls - I saw your message pop up on my phone then couldn't find the bloody thing. So I messaged you on FB messenger.
Sorry to have worried you
Both Molls & Jacks have me on WhatsApp.

All phones were hopping in the hotel with everyone trying to get alternative accommodation.
I finally got to see Jacks message  and replied.

Our Welsh friends were not so lucky & were right in the thick of it. - they feared for their lives as tons & tons of water carrying rocks & boulders surged down from the higher ground. Rain & wind lashed at them. The village roads are 6 feet higher in some places since.
They finally escaped down to us on the Monday.
The stories got more elaborate as the pints & cocktails were downed.
The stories were told again & again every night after that ( they drink a lot EVERY NIGHT)
SIL - I had to carry home the first night - was such a sad sight to see her fall into a bush & literally stagger up the street to the apartment.....
I was the only one who remembered it next day :egad:

If I ever had doubts about staying sober - they are gone.....

Welcome home, Satz. Although I'd lay odds even with the chaos you'd still be over there.
satz123..............just had one of those memory shudders......re your SIL. Although I don't remember it.......apparently after a family party, Mr JC had to sling me over the bonnet of the car while he opened the front door then carried me in and all witnessed by very young Jenny & the S&A who told me in great detail the following day.

Nighty night and mind the bed bugs don't bite.

Thinking about you too brit. As Molly said, its a special time for you both.

Glad you are home too satz123! Never a dull moment :happy2:
(Im sort of craving dull moments). How was the rest of the holiday anyway?
Is it really that different here? Im finding everyone wears masks now, its unusual not to see it. It took a while mind you.
Love the SIL stories.

Beautiful day here, hill running on our lovely hills in Ardgillian. The view on days like this would take your breath away.

Morning all..glad you're home safe Satz...have to say I agree with Mary...certainly feels most are stepping up to the mark now...only grief I have is teenagers who somehow think they look cool with their nose poking out over the mask! In comparison to what's happening in a lot of the world I feel quite proud the way the Irish government are dealing with it...am so looking forward to positive news about vaccines ..even if it takes a year or more to roll out ..it's something to look forward to.
Morning lovely Whizzy...stick your head round the door whenever you can...say hello!! Thinking of you xx
I was fairly 'lucky' re. those awful stories with drink..by the time my drinking was out of control I was pretty much hidden away...only had to look at my own face in horror...bad for the soul tho
Tax returns to be done this morn
Can't WAIT:sad:
