Would have been up earlier but didn't get to sleep 'til near 4am. Mr JC & I were talking about the sad death of Ruth Ginsberg. Amazing woman who worked until she was 87 years old.
  This is awful. She was an amazing woman. (And now we have to deal with Trump trying to rush in some evil person to her position!)

What a wonderful woman...and known as such world wide...she will be sadly missed..how appalled she must have been watching that freak show being president...May she rest in peace

How are you Nora? Sad times for you...try and remember all your happy times together xxx

The more I read about this lady the more I want to know about her life.

I think most of the world are looking on in horror. He's a disgrace to his own party. Fine be a Republican if that is your politics but find one that's not in it to fill their own pockets and boost their own egos. In my humble opinion.

The engagement for Jenny and Adam is now official.........its on facebook.
Looking at 2022...........which means I'll have my bus pass and can get the bus there and we can start saving.

They took my mum's engagement ring to a jewellers as as one of the diamonds is a bit loose and they're going to have to take it to an speciall antique jeweller.........puzzled me a bit as its only 70 years old. I thought antiques were older than that.

Anyway nighty night all and morning to the undies when they get here.

Night all,

I must have just missed you in Ikea Rustop.
Same with our Lock-in, doesnt made any difference to us really. A few activities are cancelled for the kids.

Hope all is ok NoraC. When is your mams funeral? Thats one big difference between us and the UK. We tend to bury immediately, in England, it could be weeks!
- and we do have nutters here to who are protesting about masks etc.. They are everywhere. I believe there was a big protest in London too. Thankfully most people are sane.

Congratulation to Jenny and Ad!! :heartbeat:

RIP Ruth Ginsberg.

Morning all, wishing everyone a lovely day when you wake up!
I am having a much needed sorting day because its raining.
My beloved brother and his wife are both turning 60 so planning a trip for a small celebration.
byebyebridgetjones if you can recommend a good place to buy plants, I'm driving up on a Friday and can visit a nursery on the way. I'm thinking of getting him something showy like a potted japanese cherry, or a potted pear... not sure. Am investigating if he and wifey have any spare space in their tiny courtyard-like back garden. He loves his garden and has cleverly arranged vertical herb beds up and down his fences as well as a lot of pretty miniature trees plants. I've given him a grafted 3-kinds of citrus bush in the past which has had limited success, and some japanese anemone which died. I really want to get something that will thrive and bring joy to them both. Their living room looks out on their garden so its an important focal point.

Morning everyone. Hope that the world is back to normal by the time of the wedding JC. Nice to have something to look forward to. Just a quick check in as taking the doggies for a walk on the beach. Fancied a change of scene.

Morning...lovely morning but a lot of glums going around...Joe's very down and jilly just seems to be having crisis after crisis...worn out with it tbh...started knitting a jumper...usually therapeutic for me
How's everyone else? 2nd wave taking hold it sounds...crikey it's going to be A long winter!

Waves to all.

Morbid stuff first
Its a lot better than it was. Trouble is our funeral directors want to see the colour of your money before anything else. Its a week..............10 days at a push.
I'm not having one..............I'm going straight to the simple crematorium. No family, no hangers on and certainly not relatives that I haven't been in contact for 50 years.
Mr. JC has been told to do something nice with my close family and friends. The rest of them can piss off.

Much less morbid that will get Molls running for the hills.............we're having an Alexa ACDC morning..........very loud.
Mr. JC has now got his trouser legs rolled up playing air guitar and pretending he's Angus Jones.

OMG Jackieclaire -- dunno which I'd hate to attend more today -- a funeral or your kit hen concert:harhar:
jesus --- all my life I've hated 'noise' --- so it's not just as an aul wan!!! enjoy yourself anyway

Well I'm sure I've told ye before - but I'm going to be buried under a tree.. they are special pods you buy specifically for that purpose -- so yeah -- quick jaunt to the crematorium and then dig a hole - I want NO ONE but my own hubbie my kids and my grandkids --- if they contact my sisters I will truly come back and haunt them:welldone: I HATE funerals -- with a vengeance - have never heard of anyone dying that I haven't had the horrific thought 'do I have to go to that funeral?' - thankfully the answer I give myself is generally 'NO' -- but I don't want ANYONE to feel like that when I pop my clogs!

bit bored today - think back to work full-time for the first time in months is a really good thing tomorrow -- will I think that tomorrow ???:eek-new:

Why do you think I'm wearing ear trumpets.............think my hearing finally left after seeing Motorhead in the early 80s.

Its the hypocrisy that drives me round the bend............I actually called out one of my cousins at my Mum's funeral when he was going on about what a wonderful woman she was................simple question that floored him..............'When was the last time you spoke to her?' He hadn't seen her in eons.

Jenny's loving being back at work.................although this week she's cried in her cupboard twice, broken up a fight between two lads three times in one day, reported four girls for breaking their 'bubble' then got a vile phonecall from one of the mothers and missed her train home once.............she says its giving construction and normality to her day

Oh yes when he's not Pete Townsend..........You do realise you're a legend with our friends about you finding him in your bed.

S&H starts his new job as a tax man tomorrow. He's working from home.

Nighty night lovelies
