Waves from the damp, soggy, abysmal weather from up North..... looked outside and my kindle and I made an executive decision for a duvet day.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good afternoon and anyone else about. Woke up to rain this morning but it has cleared now to lovey breazy sunshine and still quite mild for mid October. Off to visit my oldest sister this afternoon. I like those duvet and rainy days too Jackie. Catch up on reading or tv Netflix whatever shows you like or follow.:radiate::bigwave:

Hiya Army!!

Good to see you posting more often Tabbers.

Jacks - hope you had a good duvet day. The new dogger idea sounds good although I know it's a bit early. Impossible to replace Bess but as the others said, you and Mr. JC have so much love to give to a pet and they have so much love to give you.

I see that mollyka and satz123 are still AWOL. brit as well. Hope you ladies are okay.

Hi to Rusty, Mers, Foxy, Techster and Ficks and Bridgeepoo who are most likely asleep right now.

Wishing you all a good week.

Evening everyone. Getting very autumnal here which I like and I got to walk before work. Have decided that I will go out any more regardless of the weather. The little doggies won’t come with me but the other fella loves water so off we will go. Feel much better after it.

I too hope that the people gone awol are ok. You are doing fantastic Anjicia. Do you mind me asking how you came up with that name? Have spag bol on the cooker and just put a fire on. Don’t plan on doing anything this evening.

I do like Autumn too Rustops. I get out for a walk most nights with my youngest and we vowed the same thing this evening, hail, rain or snow we are walking. We are lit up like Christmas trees, but its getting darker earlier and earlier. well for another few weeks. But I think this will be the last October that the clocks will change. Are the UK getting rid of daylight savings too JackieClaire, March I think?

Mary, I too listen to the radio in work and when at home either through my computer or Alexia. I use Irish Radio Stations | Live Radio and listen to RTE lyric in the morning and then various world radio stations after that, many of which are news free such as RTE gold from Ireland, Soul Cafe from USA, Euphoria from Oman, Blues radio from Greece, Radio Nature from Spain etc., or really whatever takes my fancy.
Thanks for that link Tabbers, its a good one. If you have a smartphone/tablet, download Radio Garden, hours of radio run!

Hope the rest of the army check in soon.
Hows the holliers going Bridge??

Morning folks --- sorry I've been missing -- just a fierce amount going on and not really coping as I should -- but I will -- it'll all be fine.

I don't want anyone to worry cos I'm not posting - I know I worry about others too - but it's outside factors - nothing to do with MWO or booze or anything that's pertinent here so it's really better to keep the angst in real time and deal with it there - when I'm fit and able I'll be back and posting for sure... seems pathetic to be whinging when I think of Whizzy and all she is dealing with -- love you MrsA -- thinking of you all the time xxxx

mollyka......thank you for letting us know and take care, pet.

IamMary...............I knew nothing about the daylight saving had a bit of a google and saw that the EU voted against fiddling around with the clocks but I only found we actually left the EU on 31st July and they're just squabbling about a 'deal' now.

They're squabbling with the French about fish again. No wonder Boris's hair is falling out.

Called the duvet day a day early the weather's even worse than yesterday but I'm not going anywhere....again.

Big   to our Whizzy.

Evening ladies and the occasional fellow male visitor.
Mary thanks for the Radio Garden recommendation, it looks good and certainty lots to explore.
I received Monty Don’s new book today, first impressions are it’s going to be very enjoyable indeed.
And finally, has anyone listened to Imelda May’s recent album ‘slip of the tongue’ it is excellent. The spoken word/poetry I suppose but don’t let that put you off if it’s not your kind of thing, give it a listen.

Evening all. Was away just thinking about things.
I've decided in the scheme of things I don't have it too bad. And I owe MWO a lot - so here I is.

My News:
I got shouted at & verbally abused by 2 members of a particularly obnoxious family in work on Sunday via zoom call to their poor mother.
I was very shaken by it & felt threatened by them.
The poor lady has dementia & is subjected to this every day for 30 minutes in a room on her own & to me it's elder abuse. They are either drunk or high on something & it's wrong.
I have dealt with them before but stopped as they are truly horrible ignorant people.
The powers that be didn't want to rock the boat yet. They gave them enough rope to hang themselves.
So I was thrown under the bus and asked to deal with ending the call after 15 minutes on Sunday. That's when the torrent of abuse started.
The mother got upset & they turned it round to say I was upsetting their mother. Who did I think I was & I should get back to Reception where I belonged.
Truly vicious ....

I rang my boss and said I was refusing to deal with them ever again.
She said it's ok that they have been gathering evidence since February - and Sunday was the last straw.
They sent a solicitor's letter today & the family are being given notice of termination of contract with the nursing home.:welldone:

Yes Tabbers I like Imelda May - but she has such a broad Dublin accent I can't imagine her reading poetry.
I'll give it a whirl though !

How dare they. I cant fathom how people think. Why do they bother.
