Re: International Army October 2020

Hope I'm not too late to offer some nice thoughts and vibes to Techie. How are you holding up Brit and Nora and JC?

How are you feeling Molly? Any chance you could just take some time off and sleep? I've come to the realisation the last couple of days that I'm not doing as well mentally and physically as I thought I was. Just subtle things. Some OCD-ish type thoughts, trouble sleeping. Sometimes we like to think that we are bigger and tougher than others. And we might be as well, but we're not altogether bulletproof. This virus is like water dripping on stone.

After I read your gratitude list Stirly I went back to my own for a bit of a review. Never hurts, does it? We should probably print it and keep it on the bathroom mirror.

Hiya Gman. What's happening in the inner sanctum of Melbs? Are things easing up a bit?

Agree KTAB and Stirls. There's not much pleasant stuff to listen to news wise. I've been avoiding it for weeks now. I also saw The Social Dilemma, Mary. Scared the crap out of me and I'm not even a big social media user.

I hope you lot are all as OK as can be. I see a lot of you are heading back into high level restrictions or lockdown. Bloody hell I hope those vaccine trials are coming along.

Waving to all.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Afternoon everyone. Some very good points there Bridget and well done you for recognising it. Also a good idea to review and print off our gratitude lists. Must go back and see how to upload photos on this site Stirly. Never do it.

Glad you are enjoying your garden JC, lovely gesture from the vets. My daughters practice take a paw and nose print and send it to their clients. Think they just realize how much our fur babies mean to us. Must check that out on Netflix Mary, thanks for the recommendation on Borgen, on the last season. Just got my hair done so feel much better without my badger stripe.

Re: International Army October 2020

Afternoon army mixed day here sun cloud grey skies and looks like rain but not too cold yet. Was at the supermarket earlier doing most my weekly shop and then i got my windows cleaned which was badly needed. Thanks for your kind words and encouragement i have got further than this in the past alcohol free so i am just doing the best i can each day and i try have a schedule of some sorts to structure the day but not mad busy or stick to a rota lol just not spend too much time on the internet and the tv. Prayers to all who are going through some tough times with loved ones or work i am not up to date as i just came back on a week or so. My oldest sister and her husband are going through a tough time now. he is back in hospital with a recurring bug or infection after toes operation due to an infection with diabetes and my sister fell and book her color bone so she is just over an operation and a 2 day stay in hospital. s
She is the oldest and both in the early 70's over 40 years married but no kids. We can't visit Michael and so far niether can she, just phone call but he is sore so he is not able to stay on the phone for long. We visit her when we can and she has good neighbours. i was there yesterday. My brother and his wife were to call yesterday but because of phase 3 lockdown and they live in Wexford and Betty is in Wicklow they can't leave the county. My brothers got bells palley twice and she got very down the 2nd time it happened. My other sister got a stroke last year and did not fully recover her sight so she cannot drive again and not travel on buses or any where far on her own. just her and her husband at home all kids married or in their own places mow and the oldest 2 living abroad. And the worst happened over a year ago. My 2nd oldest sister lost her battle with cancer and her husband who also had cancer died 2 weeks later. We were gutted and heart broken and still miss them so much. Sorry for all my sad news but we carry on and have hope and i practice gratitude daily. I m lucky after my years of heavy drinking that i am still standing so taking more chances with my health. anyway that what has been going on for the last years. Many hospital and home visit and i just pray my older sister and her husband will be around for another few years. i did not intend to post this today but some of you may be going tru similar so my thoughts and prayers are with you all. have lovely afternoon or evening in your part of the world. xx

Anjicia........sorry for your troubles. Don't fret about writing about it..............if it helps you its all good.

I actually just popped into say goodnight...........its been one of those days that felt like a fortnight. Didn't help that I blew a gasket when I discovered in the UK instead od the usual steps of one to 5 for the virus the powers that be have changed it to a traffic light system...............greem (good)...........amber ( keep an eye on it) and red (the numbers are rocketing and watch out ICU)............the powers that be have spent prescious time on crap like this.
Wonder how long they spent on that while us plebs are trying to keep up/
Rant over.
Wonder how quick Amazon can deliver a yoga mat. I seriously need some ohmmmming.

We'll get Bess's ashes back next week. She was cremated with her favourite toy Neil.

Right now after that rather dismal down hearted post I'll say nighty night and morning to Bridgeeeeee and Fickle and Mr G...........tomorrow's a new day.:victorious:

stirly-girly, teens are all grand, theres always something :happy2: but they are good kids really. I do understand about that parent sending the daughter to school, well not for the party, but if the child is feeling grand again. I nearly sent my lady back on Friday as she was flying around, didnt in the end and then started coughing on Saturday.

Actually for under 13s here, they dont get the full back of the nose one, its only goes up a small bit. Makes no sense at all, shes taller than my own mother, so why would kids only have covid in the nose but you have to poke around in the brain for the adults?
Results back in 24 hours, so it was all very straight forward.

Bridge - Im the same, This forum is about the only social media I'm on (and I have a pseudonym, I am probably Bob Geldof in reality), but I still use Google, my phone, Im creating a profile. Im being directed to certain websites when I search. I am being manipulated.
Are the Clan keeping away? how long have you off?

Anjicia its one thing after another, that hasnt been easy. Glad your ditching the booze now, it really does amplify everything. And if your like me, feel very sorry for myself.

Rustop, Ive moved onto Criminal. Im with JC, LOVE crimes! one of the lads on the group I coach is a forensic Scientist with the guards. I was preparing myself for loads of cutting edge dramatic solves, but alas, he said its mostly boring, analyzing cigarette butts. Its early days, ill get to the juicy bits..

Morning all, day off work today so a nice long weekend for yours truly. Off over to do a couple of small odd jobs for my elderly mil a bit later on in the day but first I might take doggers out to the beach as it doesn’t look a bad day.

My problem is that when I see a picture of someone on FB that I have not seen for 50 years, it's kind of a shock to see how much most of them have changed while I, Stirly, have not changed one iota!! :shakingno::lipstick:
Hi Stirly, that’s another thing I don’t do FB, never did fancy it or any of the other social media sites tbh. Suppose I am odd.

stirly-girly.......our garden has finally caught up with the rest of England...........its in full bloom. There's a blooming great sunflower just outside the kitchen window.
Just getting up JC.
Blimey, didn’t think it would be blooming still even given the northern latitude. Even my autumnal flowering plants are finishing up soon I reckon.

Good morning army been sweeping up leaves outside and tidying up. Still some weeds to pull up and trim shrubs but i'll do a bit here and there over the weekend i am tired already and my back is not great but i am fine. Yes its a lovely day so far and mild for October. I might head to Woodies diy and garden store later i need a bigger and better yard brush and i might get a few winter plants. I am also looking at curling wands in Power city a couple reduced its just across the road from Woodies. I did these in the past and found them hard to use but they may improved so i will have a look online before i consider buying. What kind of coaching and work do you do Mary? just curious.

A big day in the garden and I feel so much better about life. Altogether a pretty good week off. Get the goods from the copper for us Mary.

Hope things are looking up for you all.

Afternoon all. Just had a lovely long walk around a lake with two friends and the doggies. Beautiful morning and feel all the better for it.

Technology is a double edged sword. Find Googling ‘how to’ one of the best things ever. Social media I just dip into. Had a very productive zoom meeting with wardrobe lady this morning. We are changing the wardrobe in my daughters bedroom and she was able to show her what she has clothes wise. She altered her drawings and was able to show them on the screen and we could chop and change according.

Glad the garden gave you a boost Bridget. How are you feeling these days Molly? Hard to believe it is weekend already.
