Gidday crew,

Molly, we're just opening up now in my state Victoria in the south of the country after months of lockdown i.e. 5k travel radius, 4 reasons only to leave home, 1 hr exercise only allowed outside each day, most businesses closed except for essential service such as petrol, supermarkets, health services. We had 0 covid cases yesterday, down from 700 a couple of months back which caused the lockdown. Resteraunts, pubs, retail all open with some numbers restrictions here tomorrow. Other parts of the country have had less bother. So, we're optomistic here. Good luck there. A time for self reflection whether i've liked it or not! lol. Take it easy evabody.

Yeah MrG our lockdown sounds pretty much identical to yours...we've had nearly a week of it..another 5 weeks to go..I will be working but 'essential' is a bit of a stretch ..better than sitting at home tho...retirement sounds less attractive by the day!!: glad you lot got sorted for the minute anyway...hopefully a vaccine will wing it's way soon!

6 months!! I knew you were in lockdown, but wasnt following too closely. I think you also have a similar population size. Zero cases if brilliant now, well done Mr G!!
We can meet up with another household for exercise and kids can continue to play sport. 2 big differences for us since the last lock down.

Rustop, wait until Halloween if over at least :haha:

Had a flashback of a raw esophagus feeling earlier today, Id forgotten about that, anyone ever get that from booze?

Oh yes Mary! The acid reflux was unbelievable. There are so many medications that I haven't touched at all since quitting. I still can't believe that I went back to drinking knowing full - well what was lying in wait for me. I keep a regular running tally of the amount of money I save through not drinking. It's scary. I should probably also calculate the amount of medication and special hangover food that I also got though every day - only to drink again that afternoon. Dropped and damaged property that I had to replace. What a fool's game.

It's looking much better this week Mr G

Fingers crossed for a vaccine soon.

Molly I'm not a natural clean freak so I sit down and watch other people clean their houses on YouTube first for inspiration. It actually works although at first I thought it was the weirdest thing ever. Whatever gets my bum off the lounge has got to be a good thing.

Never too soon or late to cheer yourself up any way you can (within reason) rustop.

Morning folks! Still on my enforced 'holidays'...have had better ones!!
I should be a millionaire if I had all the money I don't spend on drink - drink accessories..and cigarettes....where did the money GO?

Late good morning and waves

We've still got the contents of the airing cupboard that we decided to tidy about three Sundays ago all over the back bedroom. I found towels I'd forgotten I'd bought. Its a work in progress.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good morning everyone. We should all be millionaires but somehow the money gets spent on something else. Same as the lockdown, no where to go etc but personally I have painted the house from top to bottom, replaced pillows, duvets etc so the money is still being spent. Enjoying the results a lot more than hangovers though.

Started off raining but cleared up and managed to get out for a nice walk along the river. Back to the garage for the afternoon. The WiFi works out there so listened to my audio book yesterday, Me by Elton John, very interesting.

Thanks @JackieClaire for reaching out. Yep I'm fine.
First day of lockdown:
Mr S went for a pre-op assessment - he has a hip op. on November 14. Runs in his family - they've all had something replaced
So I had to bring Rosie for a walk - I walked out & left keys inside. @£$%^&^% ... but off we went anyway.
She did a poo on the outward journey and picking it up with a poo bag I stuck my finger in it. Ewwwwww. - and no home to go to.
On the way back she got stung by a wasp.

When we eventually got in - my laptop charger wouldn't work & smoke came from the connection.
Great craic.
So I had to await a new charger from Amazonland.
Then I had to work 3 days of the bank holiday & I am FECKED .....

Then my mother, for the first time in 3 years, today is freaking out that she is in s Nursing Home. She just seems to be more alert & taking everything in.

Shall I go on ?....................

Im glad none of you know where the money is going either. A chunk went off to amazonland I think.

Watched an excellent mini series called The queen's gambit. Child prodigy chess player, drugs & alcohol addiction, I will say no more...

Morning to the North.
I thought I'd had a crap day but at least I don't have dog poo on my hands so I'll shut up.

We have got our busiest time of year on at the moment at work. The entitled genius' are moaning their heads off, everything is late, everyone is miserable, everyone is having a crack at everyone else. It's hard to cut this all out when you are working from home. There's no separation. Still happier working from home though.

Has your Mum had any alteration to her medication Satzy? It's good that she is more alert just without the anxiety. It would be a hell of a fright to suddenly realise you've been living in a nursing home.

JC, I started some Marie Kondo some time ago as well. Only got half way through then just left it in a high traffic area to be tripped over and spew forth it's contents. It's in a box which once housed marine winches, whatever they are. Everyone who walks in thinks that we are boating enthusiasts until they trip over one of my old bras. I don't think it's legit Kondo method, nor does it spark joy but I do enjoy folk looking at it askance on their way to the living room.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Is the virus in the nursing home you're working in?
Howdy all else..have tried to buy local but couple of things couldn't get anywhere but foreign parts

Good morning everyone. Sorry about your #*#** week Satz, it never rains but it pours. Hopefully this week will be better. Ever tried writing comedy Bridget? You have a wonderful way with words, you always give me a chuckle. Sleep tight.

Yea it’s nice to buy local but sometimes you just can’t get what you want. There is all the uncertainty about Brexit too, crazy bloody year, be glad to see the back of it. I have a lot of fiddly things I need to do but can’t motivate myself to do them. Think I’ll do the same as I did for cleaning the patio. I took one thing a day and dealt with it and now it’s all done. Will try that and see how I go.

Morning and waves to the underooos
@ satz123.......there you are. Whenever I took Bess out I used to take wipes, poo bags, extra poo bags, a carrier bag, kit hen roll and still managed to get poop on my hands.
Has your mum had these lucidity before?

byebyebridgetjones..............two years ago when I had the c-diff I lost about 18 kilos and stuffed all my larger stuff in the loft. Now I've got covid eating anything in sight I can fit back into them.................it was whole new wardrobe.:congratulatory:
According to the news charity shops are overwhelmed with donations.

Tried the eye hospital to see how the waiting list was going got a load of blab about how they're backed up...........I appreciate that, I live on the same planet as them and I'm not daft.......I know what's going on. I can only see shapes out of my left eye now and I my right eye is going and the nights drawing in don't help.So after all that explaining to yer woman I've got to get a seperate referral for my right eye................back to the opticians who will send it to my doctor who will refer me and then and then I'll get another letter from them to say I'm on the waiting list.
Might have to go private which means emptying the £2 coin jar and use what's left of the re-furb fund. There's a waiting list for them too but they'll be able to give me a date.
I'm tired, so tired of it all.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Now I've started to get Sciatica-type pain shooting from my bum down my left leg - this is new since gym closed . I been very good going 3 times a week since June. Now the stretching classes had to stop last week - FFS !! I hope it's just a temporary thing ....

The Nursing Home I work in have managed to stave off the 2nd wave of COVID-19. 3 of the staff had tested positive but testing of the residents proved the precautions, when done, work. All 87 tested negative. :hyper:
