Re: International Army November 2020

Just a quickie.
I'll be going....... satz123.....you know the man in charge. I've got to get on the waiting list even if we went private. Mind you from Thursday it would be handy if I could get in sharp as Mr. JC's working from home for at least the next 4 weeks.
The budgies are still under discussion. We did have a look see on tinterweb last night.
Now I'm thinking a parrot................Mr JC will kill me.
NIghty night lovelies
It could be worse, I could be filing.

They don't really care if you spend money or not .... :haha: And if you do spend money they give it back some other way. Mr S will often buy around of drinks by the end of the night the barman is giving him & everyone else free drink.
Dinner is not just dinner. At the end there is always a free dessert / shot/ beer. When going home a gift of a bottle of the family's own wine or sweet treats.
..... I love it.
That's my experience anyhoos

I hear ya on getting out of the house Rusters.... I was in all day today a) cos it was lashing rain b) sciatica is getting worse. Living on painkillers even to get out of bed.
It's a vicious circle - if I sit it eases the pain - but then when I get up it's really bad. Had to crawl up the stairs just now.
Seeing physio on Wed morning.

I feel a big medical bill coming up as I get the runaround Physio / Doctor / MRI etc.

Oh that reminds me a good friend recommended a book ..... zzzoooooom !!!
I'll return all knowledgeable about the sciatic nerve ..... & start preaching as I usually do when I get new information :haha:

Re: International Army November 2020

Evening all,
I've never had sciatica Satzy but I bet it's a bugger of a thing.

I had a thought that agoraphobia will be on the rise as a result of all of this lock down stuff. I've always had mild anxiety when I have to leave the house. Took me years to identify what it actually was. Let's face it, there are a lot of shit-for-brains types out there so you'd be forgiven for not wanting to mingle. Why did we spend so much time in pubs and clubs as young ones? Even then I knew I hated it but went along to be with my friends. If only I'd just found new friends, I wonder what might have been different?

Going next level Marie Kondo now. I realise that previous efforts were only Kondo Lite. Now I have undies rolled into balls and placed on their sides, filed according to colour. No OCD here!
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Hallo Troopers!!

A quick fly-by from me to wish you all a good week. I actually started this yesterday and am only getting back to it now.

Well, the thick, smelly person has been let go. Mind you we had to pay him a leaving compensation of over 2000 euro but such is life. At least my anxiety level will be much lower.

As for Covid - 1700 new cases yesterday, 2000 the day before. 5600 new cases in the 4 days before that. Needless to say, I spent the weekend at home alone. Quick stop at the supermarket for supplies on Friday after work and the rest of the weekend inside. Bit of housework and some cooking and baking, but mostly painting and Netflix. I just feel vulnerable when I am out. It's bad enough at work that I am in contact with others and can't avoid it, so will do what I can to protect myself when I'm not at the store. Not liking it but I figure it's what I need to do. We all do what we need to to cope with this situation whether that is staying home or running marathons or flying somewhere for a vacation, we do what we need to in order to cope.

Tabbers - congrats on three weeks. And on loving it. That's the secret. To feel that it is liberation and not deprivation to not drink.

Satzy - how do you know it is sciatica? Just curious. I'm sure you know what it is. I have self-diagnosed my hernia. All the symptoms point to that. Now to get to a doctor about it. Terrified of having the operation. Last time I was in the hospital was 41 years ago on Friday when younger son was born. :egad:

JackieClaire. Yer a dogger person, Jacks. Get yerself a pupper. Nothing can compare to the look in a doggie's eyes...

brit - please let us know how you are doing. Sending you

Mers - if you ever get to visit Greece and you're in the Athens area, you'll get the grand tour!!!

Waves to all I haven't mentoned - hope you have a great day!!!

Yo Bridgit! The movie looks good. I have been bingeing on "Ozark" on Netflix. Keeps you in suspense. And there's a young girl who plays in it - Julia Garner. Only 26 years old but IMO, a very good actress. She's got a bright future.

I'm not sure you are ready for the next level Bridge. Last report was your visitors were falling over bras in the front room ?
Two or three balled knickers does not a Marie Kondoer make.

Watch Queen's Gambit and see how to move up the levels. I'm sure balled knickers and chess must have something in common

Totally agree Stirls. That is the essence of recovery imo. Wallow in those feelings of being sober.

Agree totally JackieClaire - a poor little lost rescue is waiting for you .... not a replacement for Bess just an addition to the JC doggie & human family past & present.

JackieClaire thanks for the tuck in lovely. Just keep in mind with budgies, if you get just the one they are quite chatty and even might learn to say some words. Not sure if you get two as they may tend to talk more to each other in their own language. I'm told having only the one is how they make the best company. Don't know if its true. Was visiting my youngest yesterday and her housemate has a lovely little chatterbox white budgie who lives in the loungeroom and chirrups all the time. They have just been given a little orphan duckling to raise too. So starts the menagerie.

satz123 I really enjoyed Queens Gambit and that little bit of dialogue is about the longest speech she makes in the entire series!

I thought I would hate being here on my own in this house, but I suspect I'm going to enjoy not having other people's junk all over the place and not having to clean up after others

Morning and waves to the world,
fickle......ta for the budgie info. Tbh haven't done a lot of research into budgies.
Of course my ideal one would have four legs, a snout and glossy coat............but I think that's a dog.

The thing that angered me into a rant in front of Mr. JC (he did his usual calm down, calm down) is that many people bought a dog/puppy in lockdown to keep them 'occupied' the shelters are filling up as these morons realise that a dog/cat/rabbit is for life not just pandemics. We'll bide our time 'til after Christmas. Its five weeks today since we lost Bess and we're still raw.

Definelty got himself home for four weeks.
