Re: International Army November 2020

Went to Physio for my back / bum problem. He was lovely - works out of the gym so I kinda knew him.

Hips , back etc are good but there are muscles deep down in the bum area that need attention as they are pressing on the sciatic nerve.
He did some pressing & acupuncture ....

Homework : stretches & a tennis ball :egad: the order of the day !
I feel less stressy having spoken to a professional. Typically it feels better already.

Do you feel better JackieClaire after speaking to the lovely optician ......?

Honestly you wouldn't believe how many women - young & old - I've spoken to and they'd say "oh I get that all the time" or "I've lived with sciatica for 20 years."
Jesus why would you not go get something done about it ? It is really debilitating - I had to crawl up the stairs last night.
The body will fall to bits eventually but I'm not ready yet ..... and i'll want to know why it's happening.
It's like we're women - it's what we do - we just suffer on - offer it up for the holy souls - well not this one.

satz123........ahh the lovely Michael. He was there........he has to he owns the place it and he does like a bit of a chat........ but I see a lovely Gemma now. Yep, I do feel better..................I know this sounds daft but having it made 'official' by someone who knows what they're doing and are concerned about you about makes me feel I'm not wasting time.

My sciatica went about after the S&H was born. I was lucky was only when he shuffled about the last couple of months off the pregnancy, but it doesn't half hurt. If it had carried on after would have been banging the doctors door down.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

QUIZ FOR MY VERY BRIGHT FRIENDS

        There are only nine questions.

This is a quiz for people who know a lot !
I found out in a hurry that I didn't. These are not trick questions.
They are straight questions with straight answers...

        1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

        2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

3 Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?

        4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?

        5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?

        6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words. Name two of them.

        7. There are 14 punctuation marks in English grammar. Can you name at least half of them?

        8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.

        9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'

        Do not cheat on Google

        Answers tomorrow .....

Feel sorry for me Jacks & Rustytop - Mr S is home all the time. Because I work - the house is his domain more than mine now. So he nags.

JackieClaire - any idea how long it will take to fast track you now? They are dragging this out

satz123, delighted you got to see a phisio - I thought they were not seeing people at the moment.
Ive spent plenty of days sitting on a golf ball in work. When I took up yoga last year, I didnt seem to have any issues like the previous year.
                    Foam rollers are great too.

Way too much going on today to concentrate on work with the US election! I do not deserve to be paid for today. What will tomorrow bring :nailbiting:

JC are you going to wear other clothes under the apron or just the apron and the Pledge? I got a sudden mental image.

I'm too scared to watch the orange man numbers. I had a chat with a friend yesterday about how many people in key roles are actually geriatrics. Biden's name came up for example, but also surgeons, judges, CEOs. If I'm this dense at my age I think that's a bit dangerous at 20+ years older than me.

Yet another big work announcement on Monday and people are seriously announcement fatigued at this point. Consensus is to just take us out the back and shoot us. Get it over with.

                        1. Name the one sport in which neither the spectators nor the participants know the score or the leader until the contest ends.

                        Drinking

                        2. What famous North American landmark is constantly moving backward?

                        Orange man hopefully

3 Of all vegetables, only two can live to produce on their own for several growing seasons. All other vegetables must be replanted every year. What are the only two perennial vegetables?

                        perennial spinach, asparagus

                        4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?

                        Strawberry

                        5. In many liquor stores, you can buy pear brandy, with a real pear inside the bottle. The pear is whole and ripe, and the bottle is genuine; it hasn't been cut in any way. How did the pear get inside the bottle?

Fruiting branch is inserted into the bottle and the fruit grows insitu.

                        6. Only three words in standard English begin with the letters ' dw' and they are all common words. Name two of them.

                        dweeb, dwunk

comma, exclamation mark! colon: semi colon; Question mark? apostrophe' ellipsis...

                        8. Name the only vegetable or fruit that is never sold frozen, canned, processed, cooked, or in any other form except fresh.
Lettuce? Or are they 'processed' when you buy it in bags?

                        9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'

I loved your chickens. I remember when one was poorly. Egg bound or something.

                          Was it the Rio Olympics???
                          Good morning Troopers.

Started this yesterday, only getting back to it now...

I believe it was the World Cup in Jo-burg. Tipster was with us then. We sat up all night keeping Johnny company so he wouldn't drink. And it worked. Still remember that with a smile. MWO was so different then. Much more activity on the boards. Mind there were very strong disagreements and such but the support was unbelievable. Remember Jan and her fight to stay sober and get Ollie back? Man, we were here everyday, all day trying to help as best we could. Ollie will be a young man by now. Memories, memories...

Okay - here goes - thought of these yesterday and this morning. Have NOT looked back to see other answers...

I think that artichokes keep growing. I see a lot of them here in Greece. I think they just cut them back and they grow new shoots. Also, maybe asparagus. I know that rhubarb grows every year but I guess it is considered a fruit although it has no seeds.

                          4. What fruit has its seeds on the outside?
                          Raspberries

Prickly pear cactus comes to mind - we have zillions of these in Greece. In Turkey they are sold on ice at fruit stands.

                          9. Name 6 or more things that you can wear on your feet beginning with the letter 'S.'
Shoes, slippers, socks, skates, skis or ski boots, snowshoes, sandals,

We are going into general lock-down again. 2600 new cases yesterday. Shops closed. No one allowed on the streets after 9 pm. Fuck, fuck, fuck. Not a great thing going into winter. It will be very difficult for a lot of people.

JackieClaire - hope you get something done about your eyes soon. Sending you :hug.

Waves to all. Will check back in later. Be safe.

Went to the dentist yesterday and I got the day wrong, appointment is today. It’s not as if my calendar is chocker block.

I seriously don't know what would have happened to me or what would happen with this new lock down if I was drinking. It has got me down and if I had he depressing effect of AL added to that, gawd knows where I would end up. So very, very grateful that I am sober and will stay that way. The other scenario doesn't bear thinking about....
