    Hiding places

HAHAHA! I have done the booze in the neighbour's recycling too! Hilarious!
Of course, then there was always the "under my clothing" in my dresser drawers, in random water bottles around the house (though that backfired once after a long weekend at a cottage when I returned to work Monday morning, grabbed a bottle of what I REALLY honestly thought was water, took a great big chug that morning at work and had a mouthful of orange flavoured vodka and water...grrreat.) I DO wish I had thought of the vodka in the hairspray bottle for women on the go - LOL!) WOW!!

Yeah I guess we all know how to kid the kidder! I even took stuff out of my recycling to put in the main bin so that no-one (not even the dustmen) would know what was being sunk...but now I know they didn't care and I was only fooling myself

        Hiding places

I couldn't believe it when we were in Florida, last year.. I had to "clue" my Mom in Law in... she also enjoys her white wine... When she mentioned that you're not suppossed to have alcohol on the golf course (and we were being strong armed to go along w/the guys on a rather windy day...) I looked at her & asked if she had any 7up bottles...DUH
I thought my Hubby was gonna shoot me!

Who was the person who hid their vodka in the water tank on the back of the toilet?? They said it kept it nice and cold too.... OMG! Now THAT is creative. Gotta chuckle at that one.. and yes Becca, I remember the Tampon box....we really can be pathetic!

              Hiding places

I have never hidden alcohol. Oh wait, I guess I have a little bit but nothing like you all. I am soooooo mad I never thought of the hiding empties it in the neighbors recycling. Before they had the big bins with a lid to hide it in they were these really small baskets that I would fill up in four days. My in-laws, who live close by, would drive by on recycling day and makes comments to my husband.

I stopped putting my empties in the recycle container for the neighbors to see. I wrapped'em in those black trash bags, to hide them.

Well, I looked under all the old, pre-transition threads for the hiding booze thread. Anyone want to search through the current general discussion thread, or has somebody already done so???

My way of hiding my empty wine bottles was always back of wardrobe under all my clothes and behind my shoes...would eventually take them out in my gym bag and dump then in the supermarkets bin en route!!

I checked almost every page here earlier on the General D posts, ... didn't see it anywhere in all of 40 pages back! Even tried the search icon... no go.. Damn I had about 5 pages of that printed out months ago because it was soo funny. But I think I threw it out eventually!:upset:

                              Hiding places

I did it the Lou style, and it was expensive. I was a social drinker before my marriage than only lasted three years after dating for a few months. I think that was one of the main reasons we married - loving alcohol. Whereby I was used to drinking anything that could make me drunk, my husband introduced me to good wine, and it was good, until one day when I opened one of the bottles he had received as a gift, by mistake. I only realized what I had done the next day which was just the day he would be returning back home from a business trip but before rushing to replace the bottle, he was already there, and there I was, listening to the door opening and standing with the bottle on the floor - immediately rushed to the room that he rarely went to and hid the thing somewhere between my shoes. When I went to replace it the next day, I was shocked at the price - I had to, and so I did part with 83 Euros. As if that wasn't enough, I continued the cat and mouse game from time to time, to my shame, found some empties the time I was moving out, of the same brand - thanks God I was alone but I was so embarassed that I managed several months after that without alcohol.... and then.........

                                Hiding places

TER!! Great to "see" you! How are the wood ducks? Hope you are doing well. Stop by more often! I hope things have settled down for you and you are in a good head space now... ya know what I mean.

Between the mattresses, Jen?? Musta been the flat kind of bottles! No princess and the pea syndrome for you!!
I never really hid the full bottles, was just maybe secretive about the empties. Did the replace booze with the same kind of booze thing, fill bottles with what I drank with water (then I'd end up drinking that too, which ended up being a not bad moderation plan if I poured same quantities of watered down vodka! duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh), stashing empty wine bottles here, there, and everywhere.
We always have parties and everyone around us drinks, so it was never too difficult. Could always blame someone else, and sometimes, it truly was someone else's fault!
                                but not usually...

I'm also famous for being creative in bringing alcohol into public places that are not supposed to have alcohol. Certainly a pink lemonade bottle mixed with gin is completely inconspicuous, as is a diet coke can laced with rum. Even the ever-health-conscious-water-toting-PTAer can appreciate my lemon aquafina a la vodka.
I'm kinda making myself laugh and puke at the same time! Topa mouth!
Even hubby started catching on and was laughing (before he started getting concerned, then mad...). The one day I went to my son's baseball game after I had had a crappy day. I had my travel mug in hand.

"There's a little somethin' special in that there mug, huh Becca?"
                                "ooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh yeah"

Sporting events are now attended sober, and much much much more happier .
