Of course I know there's a world of difference between an old persons 'home' and a library - but when you say to Rusters that there shouldn't have been 10 people at the front desk? I did/do feel very neglected by management tho.. so wrong

That is madness Molly.
Not sure if yourself and Satz are the same Rustop, our receptionist in work is completely shielded by perspex. It doesnt matter where you work, if you cant work from home, you have to have confidence that your protected.
Bridge, whats this about arthritis at 55?? Are you the same Starty? Is that not very young? Mr M is the same age and thinks hes getting it, but I keep dismissing it. Well he moans a lot, I have to choose my sympathy moment carefully :blahblah:AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

I take anti-inflammatories and paracetamol. I tried tumeric but it did nothing for me although I have heard good stories for others .

Ask him if his Mum, Dad, Grannies etc had it. I have a distant great grandad who used to stumble to the pub on walking sticks, throw them into the bush in embarrassment, then get a skinful and forget them, trot home merrily without them and wake up in agony the next day again. The granny used to have to go down and get the sticks out of the bush by the pub for him. I didn't feel a thing while I was drinking, got to say.

Bridgey, i have no experience so far wit arthritis, so what do i know. A few convo's with various folks throughout life though has many times pointed towards Ayurvedic medicine or Chinese medicine. I know ur aware of these options, but do either of these thousands of years old practices have anything that can help? Would a fasting practice or real vegetable only diet assist? (known to reduce inflammation radically) take it easy my friend. You're a bona fide raaaawk star!
Big waves to all. Take it easy over there. xLast edited by Guitarista; January 5, 2021, 10:04 PM.

Yes, it is exhausting. Is it in your hips and have you had it checked out? Mr G is right about an anti inflammatory diet and fasting if you can do it. Have you tried CBD oil?

Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021
Morning folks, looking like we are all back to full lockdown here today. Shocking how many people I am hearing of personally in the past week who have contracted Cov. I know there are more tests being done now than back in March but it seems to me as though this has exploded and is much much worse. First in the queue for the vaccine when offered it, and potential side effects can’t be worse than a virus that could possible kill us imo.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

I've never tried CBD oil. I could give that a go. The best thing I could do really is to get this pound-age off once and for all. God, just ridiculous.
I see you are all back to lockdown today up there in the UK. No words. Will try to amuse you as much as possible through this...If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021
Hi Tabbers and Bridge,
Yes it does seem worse. I think we just gotta do what we can to get through this. Its worrying.
Bridge yes I have had an MRI a couple of times but my hip one was bloody awful. They injected dye into the bone and that was truly unpleasant. I even cried :haha:
Yes weight will not help. I lost quite a lot and have managed to keep most of it off thankfully and the surgeon kept saying it was such a good thing as it helps for the op as well as they dont have so much blubber to cut through apparently. Plus anaesthetic is easier.
Just got back from a very wet 3 miles and need to log on to work now. Booo

Door handles must be disinfected and meetings can only hold 4 people in one of the big offices etc.
I've had arthritis since in my 20's...deffo genetic..my other hip and knees should have been done in my 40s but yeah booze disguised a lot..
Filthy wet cold morning here...I agree about the walking Rusters but he's only allowed 20 mins or something ridiculous..try and give him plenty of free running in the garden but he's a bit precious..hates the wet and cold..we'll survive..my mission is purely to keep him alive and happy till Joe can take over againContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021
Jonesy. Sorry you're in pain.
Have you tried the Egoscue method? Hips and lower/upper back, shoulders alignment focus via some gentle stretches and exercises. I do one called 'static back' designed to align the back properly. The bloke Brian running the show calls this position a silver bullet'. Lay on back with back of knees and lwr legs perched and angled 90 degrees on an ottoman or poooofffon. This leaves ur upper body from ass to head flat on floor. arms a little outstretched. Maybe a small pillow for head if needed. Stay relaxed for 5 mins preferably longer as gravity brings back into alignment. Do on floor not a soft bed. Feels good, may help. Plenty on you tube. May or may not help arthritis though?Last edited by Guitarista; January 6, 2021, 05:07 AM.

Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021
Good morning everyone. Not raining here but plenty of the white stuff on high ground. Just had a cold but refreshing hour plus walk.
We have all the measures in place and I have the screen. Recruitment has been outsourced to Manpower and they are on site and meant to be doing it all. However people turn up too early so you can’t leave them standing outside so we end up asking them to sanatize and take their temperature etc. It is crazy that they are not doing it online in the current climate.
Feel for all of you with arthritis. I had a grandfather crippled with it and some aunts. Touching wood I have not noticed anything so far.

Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021
Is this the sick bay? I'm feeling proper grotty. Turning over is like turning a large ship.
Its a little cap I wear to cover where he gouged the cataract out. during the night I have to wear it in bed and have antibiotic poured in twice a days in me my eye twice a day............OK its a tiny drop twice a day but it feels like half the Atlantic.
But the good news is I'm starting to see in my left eye. Its amazing.
While I was waiting at the hospital I kept getting my kindle or phone out I and made it loud and clear I was using a sanitize to wipe on both of them.
Jenny is back teaching from home...because of lack of hygiene and much more.. Her post on FB was clever, well thought out and she managed not to swear once.
Is it time for some good news...........Jenny and Ads have set a day and a venue that has a train to deposit guests to the bar. Get your posh frocks on for 26th August 2022.It could be worse, I could be filing.
