Re: New Year New Start Army January 2021

What is a Dáil ? Is it like a shithead?
Bridge it's more like the plural for a gathering of shitheads :harhar:
Like a Gaggle of Geese.

I'm joking - they are doing their best I suppose.
Ironically it's the women in the Dáil that I dislike the most. Feckin' wans from '1980's arsehole of nowhere' with not a clue about real problems people have.

I too am grateful for Rosie. You just can't be in bad humour when she's around. Dogs teach us to live in the moment & not be stressing about what happened or what's going to happen. She's curled up beside me here snoring away.

Satzy - I so do love the way you express yourself...

Good morning Army!

I am grateful that I am sober and I am very grateful that I have been blessed with the coolest little grandson you could ever ask for. Love him to bits and he makes me laugh all the time.
I am also grateful that we are healthy and we have a business that, at least for now, is healthy as well and provides us with our daily bread.

Now here's a thought - something that came to me a while ago. I am not saying whether or not I will get the Covid vaccine, BUT... from what I understand, the vaccine does not prevent you from getting the virus - it lessens the symptoms. Also, you will still be contagious if you get it. SOooo, here is my dilemma - when hundreds of thousands of people are vaccinated and they get the virus but the symptoms are mild, so they don't go to the doctor or the hospital and they don't know if they really have Covid or have just the regular flu since they are not getting tested, will that mean that in reality the number of new cases will go up but they will not be reported? If so we will have a false picture of what the Covid situation is really like. Thousands of new cases not reported and therefore no quarantining by those people nor social distancing. What then? Just wondering what others think....

Jacks - hope you are feeling better. How is your eye? Have you not noticed a huge difference in your vision?

brit - thinking of you, Mrs. A. Hope you are coping and hope your family is with you for support.

Waves to all. Like Tabbers said - let's make it the best day we can. No matter what....

Morning,
Its been snowing..........if you were quick enough you could have got your sled out.

stirly-girly.............you'll get yourself in a knot worrying. They come into your shop but 'stuff' and that is where your duty finishes. Perhaps print a little what to do when they get home. We're are all bending over backward to try and stop this.
Our next door's neighbours daughter has had it..........she's actually in charge. She's had a week in bed. two weeks at home and clear results. She's back at work. None of the team she works with have had it or carrying the virus.

Actually, made me smile that they would have call a 'snow day' (a day off) but seeing how the majortiy are at home any was it Physics & Chemistry as usual. Although I do wonder how they do experiments. I have visions of half blown away kitchens.

One more day before I wash my hair. I've chewed all my finger nails off and I mostly spent the day looking at dogs either for adoption or buying. I did see a lovely Budgie but by the time we did the sums. Then Ooooh ad ahhhh over it ..............it had gone.

I'm so lonely without out our Bess getting out of bed seems pointless.

The eyes are a true miracle. Back getting the right one started. Being English is a chore.

Not worrying about it, Jackie, just wondering...

Delighted to hear about your eye. Bet you can't wait to get the other one done. Chase them for the soonest appointment possible.

A bit of advice from someone who knows you pretty well - never mind the budgie. Get ye a dogger ASAP. That's what you need. A warm, furry creature to cuddle and pamper and who will look into your eyes with puppy love. A dogger....

Arvo all.

Stirly I agree, there is so much unknown about the vax and I wonder if it is actually going to be the holy grail that its being made out to be. I have a feeling this is going to run on and on and next winter will still be very problematic.

Agree with stirls Jax, a dog will help you. Delighted your eyes are good again.

I have had a very pleasant day. Not doing a whole lot. Well a bit of walking in the frosty snow flurries with long dogger and shopping for their food. There is an article in the paper today causing uproar amongst the walking community. 2 ladies met for a socially distanced walk 5 miles from their homes and have been fined. Frightening that we seem to be living in a police state just now.

Hello all. Wishing everyone a great day, evening or night wherever you may be. We are going for a COVID-19 test today. My wife and I were exposed to neighbors whom have tested positive. We do not have any symptoms per se but the prudent thing is get tested. Thus far, I’m not too excited about 2021.

Good grief Techster- haven't you had enough on your plate the last while? Everything crossed that you both test negative!!!

@stirly-girly
The vaccine stimulates our own immune systems into producing antibodies that in the future, if needed, will fight off COVID-19 if it tries to take hold.
So it does prevent you getting the virus.
I will be getting the vaccine - because unlike flu - this is a very dangerous virus that kills.
I think it is mutating and new strains are getting stronger.

I've worked through all this but it's only now I'm getting very very wary.
Now the South African strain has arrived here - FFS!

Our government's logic :
Lock the country down - don't let them fly anywhere - too risky - but sure feck it, we'll leave the airports open for all and sundry to come in.

Jeez Techie, all my bits are crossed for you.

I'm off to the movies for a socially distanced 'good time'.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Test done. Results tomorrow. The nurse that took the nasal was not nice. I think she tried to tickle my cerebral cortex. We both feel fine!

Morning all.

Good luck techie.

What was the film Bridge?

Satz apparently the vax is supposed to protect one from severe disease it is unknown if it stops spread which means you can still get it. The "experts" are saying social distancing, masks etc must still continue after vaccination

Our gov are finally asking for travellers to get tests before they come in. Starting next week.

Good morning everyone. Hope test results are negative Techie. Glad Joes were Molly. Cold one here, grateful for my warm bed.

Nothing much planned for the day. Walk with the doggies when it warms up. Better stay within my 5k, they are out here giving fixed penalty notices. Think they are looking for UK and South African travelers to have had the test here. Madness no checks since March. No wonder our numbers are so high.

Hola Army. We are still waiting on our test results. I find it interesting how difficult this is psychologically. I mean a sneeze nearly causes a panic attack. We are both fine, but it does give one the creeps. The neighbor has become quite ill. The wife says she just feels achy, but the husband is having respiratory issues. The difficult thing for me is being lockdown at hone. We both now have a heightened sense of empathy for anyone going through this stuff. Thanks for listening. Sending hugs and prayers to anyone dealing with difficulties. Blessings x
