    53 days

Why is this strange number significant? ?

well as of today i've equaled my longest ever quit since I started drinking way back in 1998.

Last new year I quit after going to bed at 3am on the 1st of Jan (was drinking that night) but in the morning I didn't drink again until 22nd of Feb which was 53 days.

I will be beating that record too as I won't be opening a bottle of wine to celebrate

The number is increasing regarding my longest quit as of today.

p.s. still proud of the 53 days at the start of 2020 as that was the longest and I'm sure it helped. I fell of the wagon by attending a gig and Tyson Fury was fighting that evening. Both of those made me go..ah screw it, pass the free beer over and then lets hit the casino to watch the fight. Nothing like that is happening this time thanks to Covid... will watch football on tv with a coffee or non alcoholic beer.

Keeping it going yes. Feel great and going to keep it going as long as possible. When pubs open that may be a challenge but now I have a number in my head that I don't want to reset and blow. Imagine coming sooo far and then having to put the counter back to zero?? in the early stages it doesn't matter as it's not a long time, but the longer without drink the greater the fall. If I make it to 3 months that is a quarter of a year... then 4 months is a 3rd of a year.

thanks for all the support x

              WHOOT, Kev.

The pubs opening thing - that's a one day at a time thing. Maybe you can get to acceptance by then - accepting that your life is better and you have more control over it if you don't drink. You can spend your isolation days devising plans for avoiding those drinks. I can go to bars fine now, and I don't at all have the inkling to drink. I see drunk people now and it just makes me uncomfortable.

              Keep it going!

Yes I may not wish to go to a bar for a real drink again. Let's see what this gaba drink brings when it arrives next week.
