Re: Army garrison - February 2021

Good to see you back Stirly..I've learnt in the last two months that I can only worry about what I can do something about I.e. Joe and the poxy dog...I've more or less told my (very) adult children to sort out their own worries...sounds heartless but my insides were bursting trying to sort the world.

I've lost stones since Christmas...skeletal frame at the moment so force feeding myself!

Great news about YS benjy ..I really hope he can move on forward...it was only going to happen when he wanted it...this might be it!!!!

Afternoon everyone. Thanks for checking in Stirly, so sorry for all you have been going through lately
This lockdown is getting to everyone. One of my crochet group shared this.58445C86-01C5-4341-A664-4738E7F37890.jpg

Delighted Young Satz is getting it together. Nice to have some good news. Off for my walk, at least it is not raining.

oh Rusters --- that's lovely --- truly truly lovely -- did my heart good! and it's so true -- none of us are thriving in this environment -- up till Christmas I was thinking that it had less impact on me than others being a loner -- but jesus christ -- it is very lonely now -- and worrying -- it feels like there's no help out there if you were to need it... I will save that - thank you

Only now discovered the joy of a harness on the dog instead of a lead --- it's MAGIC -- he loves it and I don't have the arm pulled off me -- just back from a lovely long excursion up the lane and down the beach -- it's a funny little hidden beach that few seem to know about - just across the road from me -- and it's fab.... didn't realise how nice it'll be for swimming when things warm up....

Evening, I might have to find that beech Molly. Finding the one in Skerries way too crowded, my folks wont walk on it now. Usually go to Donabate for a beach walk.

Great to hear from you stirly-girly. Youve had a rough few weeks  We all know this will pass, but it feels like its moving in slow motion.

Thats a fabulous piece Rustop! Thank you.

JC, its like having a new baby in the house!! How did he get on with your brothers dogs?

Our internet went down last night, or so I thought. We had a cat and mouse situation and in the kerfuffle, the wire was pulled out, but didnt discover this until this morning. We have now caught a 2nd mouse in the kitchen, after I dramatically screamed and stood on a chair like a cartoon character, as it jumped out of the pots and pans drawer :egad: This has cemented my argument for a new kitchen, although there is no logic to that.

Meant to say, great news about YS satz123. A reason to be hopeful. Very true, it HAS to come from himself.

Hows the bloke to when to Spain doing Molls?

IamMary - very true. It's a well known fact that mice don't like nice, shiny new kitchens

Ah he's fecked Mary ...he's been ringing Joe in middle of the night (I've been fielding the calls) doesn't know where he is half the time...said last week he was in Beaumont and they were bringing him meals in the middle of the night... Can't imagine that somehow...and he told another pal that he's broke...he got a 200k hand out last year from his job ...poor bugger...Can't deal with him right now tho

Going to be a lovely day today

Re: Army garrison - February 2021

I can but at times I’m just wondering what is next. To put it mildly, 2021 is not going so well, so far. And as I said earlier in my post, we are into our third lockdown, until at least the end of February.
@stirly-girly that is some burden of worry you are carrying.
As Molly says. You'll need to let go of others' issues. It's not harsh it's self-preservation.
Of course be sympathetic - give advice - be the calm one in a crisis - but then let go of it - it doesn't serve you to take on the worry of it.
Unless you can actually do something about more it , it's futile.

I posted this a while back for Bridge - who is obviously so caught up in it - she's AWOL
This guy is Irish and is full of witty Dublin chat. That you are used to being in the army.
Next course is in April.
He puts up a video every morning & evening & a 2 hour seminar on Wednesday. I love listening to him + I've lost 3 kilo so far. He has a very positive outlook on everything.
It's very simple. 1200 calories. If you "gob it log it" - NOT forever - for 10 WEEKS a day at a time.
And walk 60 mins a day. That's it - but it works having to report to him - he's tough :haha:

Morning all,
brit......thank you for the update. Glad that he's not in pain.

mollyka.......had a wee shudder. That reminds me of my mother's last months. Although her death certificate is very polite......I know, my brother and tbh think most of the family knows she drank herself to death. Can't remember the posh word for wet brain but that's what it was.

Had to put big light on its so dank/wet/cold this morning. The calendar lies and February is really 10 weeks long.

rustop59....that was truly lovely.

I remember those gyms. Me and a mate used to do one......but unlike Satz with her 'healthy' coffee it was two halves of lager and lime and a couple of ciggies before she drove us home.

IamMary........when we had mice we found out where they getting in (under the sink in the kitchen) and stuck a couple of brillo pads.....I just cannot remember where we got that advice from.....we've never been bothered since. But a new kitchen works as well.

Pupdate........he has a harness, an extendable leash, a short leash, a car seat with a dog seatbelt.
Last night our little darling was playing with his biscuit ball.......its a toy that they have to push around a wee treats drop out. He managed to hit a lamp.........which fell over, then got tangled in the wires while struggling to get out he managed to pull a plug out which has us connected to the internet/printer and Alexa ended up at the other end of the room.
Such fun.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening everyone. brit, am delighted that they have sorted the pain relief. Mary new kitchen or a JR, not a chance of any mice taking up residence here. Well done on the weight loss @Satz, must check it out. Bridget, hope all ok mollyka, going to take a leaf out of your book and try and distance myself from adult children’s drama. Glad Mikey is keeping you busy JC. Just in from work so need to get some food.
