Just as well it was a dark room as that confuses the virus and it can't see who to infect. Also glad that it was only 7 minutes, because you know what happens after 8 minutes...

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Right, I'm back to my old job until May 10. Just because. They have just noticed that when I was doing that job, I had tasks, and did stuff. Then someone else will have to do that job, and that stuff. Don't know who.
They have found us a seat which is awesome but I will be working from home. So, goodo. Then we will be moving from that seat to a new seat in another building. I think it's just to get our steps up.
There is still no job description, so we will have a meeting on Wednesday to meet other people with no job description and 'brainstorm' something. This will take 2.5 hours.
Then I will clean out my old office because someone might want to sit in there. I better take my old birthday cards with me, especially the one that says 'Happy Birthday Bridge, you old f*ckwit'. Probs shouldn't have left that one behind.
They are sitting me next to another cranky, belligerent harridan who doesn't want to be there either. That should work well for team morale.
So good to have everything sorted :thumbsup:If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Haha love it Bridge! I so miss having a cranky belligerent harridan at my side...my two besties are gone from work leaving me with striving enthusiastic 'bright' young things who are quite happy to sit at a desk manning phones and PC and leaving the 'manual' work to the older folks who were trained properly!!! So much so in fact ..we have one who is deaf...she insists on sitting manning one of only two phones that she can't answer..so when it rings we have to charge over from whatever far flung corner we happen to be working in!
Anyway...good about the job missus...
I'm off out on the bike....terrible excited!!!!

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Morning and waves to the underoos.
Only 11 days to go before my next and last jab.
I've got to persuade Mr. JC to take some holiday time. Apart from weekends (and even then his phone will go off), he's had two days off in the last year and one of those was to take me to hospital for my cataract op..........He needs a few days away from his desk here and at work. We've been having some humdinger of rows over the most stupid things, that we'd usually laugh off.
I'm having a very down day today................it will pass. They always do.It could be worse, I could be filing.

I've noticed stupid rows here affect me more than I want them to. It's mostly me talking & MrS just ignoring everything I say. But if someone else says EXACTLY the same thing it's world news ...........
So I just stop talking & find someone who will have the manners to listen and maybe have an opinion on something besides sport.
For someone who listens to the news every hour on the hour ... his conversations are so shallow - just the fecking weather & his walks in the same place every day.
I really feel my age when I am with him - is that terrible ?
Thank goodness for the staff & visitors in work of varying ages who keep me on my toes.
Talking of visitors.
Despite me being high risk because of my mother's double mastectomy & a cousin who died from it - I haven't been offered a cancer scan for 3 years because of Covid.
So The daughter of one of our ladies works in 'Breast Check Ireland' and I asked when they will be in our area.
TWO more years .......
She has got me an appointment in Dublin for this afternoon. :yay:
It's shocking the thousands of undetected cancers that will hit us in a few years.Last edited by satz123; April 26, 2021, 07:02 AM.

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Evening everyone. You lucky thing Molly, another fabulous day. Glad you enjoyed your birthday Satz.
The stress of living on top of each other is raising its head everywhere. Four broken relationships in our family alone. Probably a good thing that I get out of the house to work the few days. Pity your poor MIL Mary.
Keep us up to date Bridget on the job front. Glad you enjoyed your time in the garden.
Just in now so need to get some food, lots of it as I am starting my new regime on Wednesday.

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Never thought of that Rusters (the being stuck on top of each other)...sorry to hear some folks are in crisis but yes spose it is inevitable. Joe and I have never been together non stop..and even now.. even tho we've been in lockdown he's not really been here until now and I'm back to work on Friday..we've both or at least one of us always out at work..if I can sort out my micro-manager at work I very well may stay on a few more years..the deadline I was giving myself was putting me under pressure!
What sort of regime is it Rusters? Calories are yesterday aren't they? Have you much to lose?Last edited by mollyka; April 26, 2021, 02:42 PM.Contentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
I think Rustop is starting with Satz's fella, the Gob it Log it fella (I love that).
Some people are born old satz123. Has the conversation gone boring just between the 2 of you? Would he have more opinions in other company?
Im paying attention to my FIL now as I do not intend to end up like my MIL, putting up with all his shite.
Sounds like a fabulous day Molly!
Licked everything Bridge, I was wearing sunglasses so she didnt recogise me.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Morning all.
We had the funeral yesterday with just 11 people. It was a lovely service which was a humanist one and had a very nice celebrant who had done his homework about Ann and did a really good eulogy. Went to the golf club after for sarnies and cake and sat in the sunshine. Really was quite a lovely day considering.
Mary I roared at your sunglasses story :haha: People are mental these days
Sorry about all the rows and discontent. I think times like this have the habit of pushing people apart or closer. Its not easy as its such a change from the norm and people tend to react quite surprisingly in some cases. Years ago Mr S and I went through a tough patch and I felt we had nowt to say to each other. Its horrible feeling and I do feel for you Satz. The way I dealt with it was to go my own way for a while and he went his. Hard when you are stuck in the same house and he is always there.
Working today but meeting my mate in for a walk round the reservoir first so that will be nice.

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Good to see you Starts....humanist funerals are lovely...actually it was my auntie had one a good while ago..it was very unusual back then..and a lot of older folk were bit bewildered by it..but i thought yeah it was smashing...glad it went off ok.

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
The best thing about being a perpetual Bridget Jones is that you don't have to have fights around you. If anyone kicks off I send them out of my house, unfriend them and block their number. When the pestilence is gone you will be able to have more in your lives and this all won't be so acute with your husbands.
Off to Google humanist funerals. If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: Army Garrison April 2021
Morningish,
I've been to two humanist funerals and they're (looking for a words or here). They're rather peaceful. Peaceful...........I'll stick with peaceful and very emotional and apart from anything there are no hymns.
Ma & Pa in law have already signed up...........hopefully for not for a good few years more.
Mr. JC's having one.......after the hoo ha this weekend he's lucky its not today.
We finally got to talking about 10pm after the frostiest evening in years. Discussion is still in its early days.
a)No he's not taking two days off so he can watch them build the new fence at the bottom of the garden
b)No........ not the end of May..........everywhere will be full of kids as its half term and its five times the price.
c) A long weekend doesn't count because I know on Friday he'll have something to finish off and Monday will need to be back early to start something.
We'll put the results on the front of The Times.Last edited by JackieClaire; April 27, 2021, 04:31 AM.It could be worse, I could be filing.
