Apart from all that I am hoping to get my jab soon and have some peace of mind. Drink wise, no interest in the least, it has been off the table now for some time. You folks understand what that means, when it’s gone it’s gone TG.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

Re: Army May 2021
Evening all.
Not sure where all the freedom & big opening of the country is. Certainly hasn't made its way to this neck of the woods.
Church was still closed, hairdressers' I past were closed. Apparently they are having a 'soft' opening : FFS they've had 12 months to get ready to open.
I wasn't going to any of the above - just an observation :haha:
I felt like a wartime housewife again going from Greengrocer to Butcher today with my little shopping bag - ( I'm avoiding supermarket at the mo - sick of them) :disgust:
I'm on first name terms with both since the war began .......... SORRY - since Covid began.

Good attitude Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB)
Moan away, thats what we're here for. I like that, when its gone its gone :happy2: there are always days when its a little bit not gone, but mostly its gone.
Well that's a bit of a pain Bridge. Molly is right though, we just cant get complacent with variants ramping up in a few places. Hopefully the big brains know enough at this point to make quick edits to vaccines and they get the ones we have out quickly to the rest of the world.
Hairdressers today. Couldnt get my own girl for weeks, so i took a new girl. Bad mistake. In my defense, I was desperate. Better than I was this morning though!
We (sister and our daughters) have a Pennys slot next sunday morning. I hate Pennys, but they need a mobile clothes hanger and someone to say, lovely, looks great and over my dead body are you wearing that.

Re: Army May 2021
Morning all. Wide awake - dunno what that's about :egad:
Suppose that's par for the course for weekends - and Monday & Tuesday are my weekends.
Bridget are yous in total lockdown down there?
Young Satz been on the missing list for 2 weeks now so that means he's drinking again
A bit like folks on MWO when they relapse - will withdraw from normal chatter because it hightens awareness of how shite their lives are? Understandable.
But if they could only use it instead as a reminder that life can be good. Not always exciting - but good.

Re: Army May 2021
That's so hard to persuade tho Benjy...I know in treatment they didn't try to tell young'uns (under 40's I spose) that life is 'wonderful ' without drink or drugs..more that for an addict it's pretty shite...an hour or so of feeling wow and then days trying to chase that feeling...when they actually analyse it it does make sense to themContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: Army May 2021
Good morning I have been up since 4 am.I was lying in bed with my mind all over the place so decided to get up and do some sorting out of stuff.
Off to Wales to do a mountain walk with my hiking group and I am exhausted already.
I have had a few tough days and will be glad to get out again.

Re: Army May 2021
Morning in-mates.
Thought I'd use the official blurp rather than try and explain what's happening over here. Apologies for the Boris photo.
Covid lockdown roadmap: the rules that are changing from May 17
It wasn't the fact that I could eat in a restaurant, shop where I want ...........what brought me to tears (yes more tears) I can hug my son and daughter)
Tabbers (a.k.a. KTAB)............moan, whine and rant away pet. In the last months I've cried enough to fill a lake. I'm quick to anger as well. In fact if it had been the reverse I left me I'd have left months ago. How Mr. JC has put up with me a near miracle.
brit.....another hero....Something to look forward to.
mollyka..............sorry Molls, but the retirement course has me thinking that you'll be taught how to get in and out of a deckchair safely. Use step ladders to reach something on top of the wardrobe, not a chair. Classes in how to watch 20 year old repeats of Coronation Street and EastEnders. Do tell us what they're actually 'teaching'.
satz123........I so sorry bonnie lass. I know sobriety isn't a walk in a park but its so much easier than scrambling around getting enough alcohol to get you through next couple of days.
Anyway we're apart to wrestle the dog in his car seat and go for a walk by the river up at Rothbury.
Throbs and hugs to all.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Army May 2021
Bloody tired again. I'll try again tomorrow.
No Satzy, not a lock down, just a few restrictions. That's a biggy for us where I am.
More throbs and hugs to all who require them, The pestilence will be over soon - or quashed anyway, so chins up troops! If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

mollyka......its lovely watching your enthusiasm. Forgot to ask will you be doing veg............you've prolly said and I've forgotten. Got a brain like a sieve.
Went to Rothbury...........its about 20 miles from here a proper old fashioned village for the day. A butcher, a baker and I bet if we looked hard enough there'd be a candle maker and it was warm. Of course I was dressed as if we're about to trek over Northern Canada at the height of Winter.
Loads of people with dogs so Mikey could do a bit of socialising. He was a very good boy, there were lots of tangled leashes and me and Mr JC talking to the owners. Real grown ups. Masks were on and off. Just bliss.
Got to be up sharp as I've got my ear tests tomorrow at 9am and have a clue what parking is like in town now. We'll look right tools sat on our own in the multi-car park at 7am ...............I'll take a book.
Throbs, hugs and love to all.It could be worse, I could be filing.
