Re: Army June 2021

Hola army!

Re building materials. Yep, same here. Prices have gone up, materials are slow to get because of covid/transport issues/restrictions. More demand than supply = higher prices unfortunately for the buyer.

Good morning Campers. Off to sell the car, feeling very mixed.

That WP you tube thingy was excellent and makes perfect sense.

Good morning Brit and all to come. Good luck with the sale. Presume it was a shared car so know it must be emotional letting it go.

Must have a listen to those YouTube links, thanks again Fickle. You sound good. Once you get on the wagon it is just a matter of hanging on tight and not letting go.

Got my hair done this morning and always feel better afterwards. Getting windows cleaned and moss off the roof , gutters etc so place will look a bit better. It is never ending with a house.

How did it go with the car brit? Thats not easy.

I was at the hairdressers too, but with youngest. My mother was a hairdresser so none of mine have had to get their hair done, but not this lady :hmms:

More talk about going back to work.. Im in no rush at all!

Hi Mers - my advice - leave the kitchen changes until all has settled down.
The world & his wife is looking to get building work / renovations done - so they can charge what they like & then probably a shitty rushed job.
I've seen it before where they go from job to job - taking shortcuts with materials etc.

Jacks must be taking a break ?

Rosie has decided she will save us all from FLIES.
So she BARKS like a mad yoke. Can't even say the word - have to spell it out.
So just spent 15 minutes chasing one around the house with her barking her head off - it was comical :hahaha:

Good morning, car is sold and now I am going to look for a small car.

Feeling really flat so I need to plan my day better so I don't get in to my misery pattern.

Thanks Rusters, yes intend to hang on tight this time. Think I have figured out what happened last time and will be better prepared for next bump in the road.
Had a job interview today which went really well. Competition is steep but I actually enjoyed myself. Whatever happens, I met a truly nice man and I felt confident. It's a long time since I felt that way so it's a good sign
Wishing you all well. Off for an early night!

Good morning everyone.

Absolutely beautiful morning here and just had a lovely walk. Glad you got the car sorted Brit, one more hurdle crossed. Nite Fickle, glad your interview went well and you met someone positive. We should all surround ourselves with those type of people.

Poor Rosie, we have one dog who hates the flies but she is silent and deadly, she just jumps, snaps and tries to eat them. Same lady does the same to any rat who is unfortunate enough to come into the garden.

Need to get some food, the cupboards are bare, sick of trying to think what to have for dinners.

You are right Satz. Plus its going to cost a chunk more. My problem is that everything is falling apart - sink needs plumbing, fridge is on the blink again, 2 rings are broken on the hob - and thats for starters. but I might have no choice :grumpy:

I taped a programme on BBC1 called 'Hospital'
6 episodes set in real time in last few months in a hospital in UK.
God almighty ..... I was in bits watching it. I don't cry easily but an episode tonight showed a poor girl just being told at 37 weeks that her baby was dead. After 4 miscarriages they got her to 37 weeks.
She had to deliver the baby - it was horrendous. So sad.

Then the surgeons having to FIGHT for a Critical Care beds.
Sending patients home cos they can't operate unless there is an ICU bed free - not taken up by COVID patients.

Then a 50 year old with COVID - one minute laughing & joking - then ICU - then just days later gone......

I'm not the better of it I tell yiz.
