Certainly am Mers! And I certainly hope that you are too?

I have exactly eight (8) working days until I move to part time. I have eleven (11) working days until holidays.

I think I might start a thread or put it in my signature line.

Thank you for the birthday wishes also!!
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Morning and waves to the world,
I've missed so many birthdays.......so I'm singing a very off-key Happy Birthday at the moment to those I missed.

We've got three birthdays in 10 days..............was the S&H was Saturday, Mrs. S&H's is Friday and Mr. JC next Tuesday. Can someone lend me a tenner til payday?

techie...........what a lovely thing to say, thank you.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Greetings all,
Happy Birthday Bridget! and glad to have you back JC
I've been a bit up and down. Day 9 so have found myself very happy during the days then a little fragile in the evenings so not much to say.
I also have a birthday coming up so, inspired by a radio interview called 'Michelle vs the Atlantic' I bought a myself a rowing machine.
It is in part to make up for the fact I can't walk every day.. the pain in my ankles is too bad now so I'm trying for walks 2-3 times a week.
Hoping rowing is something for inbetween. I should be going swimming but its mid winter here and that's not so appealing right now.
I've joined a tree planting group that creates microforests using crowd funding and have my first planting session this Saturday so feeling nervous and excited.
Lovely reading back to see what everyone is up to.

She is Mers - a really polite gentle lady.

I see the frustration setting in as she tries to make sense of where she is etc. as with many others.
She barks every now & then which is so sad because you can see that it goes against her nature.

Welcome home Ms Jackerooney.... :yay:

Evening everyone.

Horrible disease Satz, so hard for them and their families. Good to have you back JC, enjoy the birthday celebrations or as much as you can in the current circumstances.

Good idea about the rowing machine Fickle and well done on the 9 days. Tomorrow you are in double digits. Just in from work so need to get some food and have a read back. Waves to everyone else.

Make that 4 birthdays, was having a tidy and found Mikey's documents. His birthday is 25th June. Its prolly one they give all rescues as they won't have a clue but we've promised to take him to Pets at Home to buy a toy.

Wonder if Molls has learnt to sit and stay yet :dog:

fickle...........I understand completely. Emotions are all over the place in the early days. Top of the world one day and the next day wanting to hide behind the sofa.

Well done Fickle! thats great going. I found early nights helped and then i felt amazing the next day! Evenings are hard, you just want it to hurry up and be tomorrow..
Good for you on the rowing machine! And the tree planting group, that will be really interesting.. you are doing all the right things!

8 working days bridge! Just when I knock off for my holidays.. we will have lots to celebrate :happy2:

Worked, made dinner, ran. Did an online food shop. Calm day. Middle child is away this week and the house is so quite without her (also the smell of fake tan has faded, so thats 1 positive).

Afternoon all,

Nervously watching the news here for the Delta strain outbreak around our general area.

Fickle, the best thing I ever did regarding the witching hour was to turn my day on it's head. Keep really busy and structured after work then go to bed really early as Mers says. Set your alarm for early hour- anything from 5am to 6.30 am here. Then you can harness all of those secret special hours before dawn all to yourself. It's like having a secret! I light a candle and just potter around. Head is in a much better space for going to work. It took a while to get it together but I love it now.

Mary, I'm sure your holiday will be more interesting than mine. But I just can't wait to not think about work, how about you?
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Good morning everyone.

Raining and it is the first time in ages so seems strange but the garden needs it and the plus side is no watering of the plants today. Hope to get walk in. Lucky you Mary and Bridget, nice having holidays to look forward to. We were meant to be going to Scotland next month but cancelled it. Himself is not fully vaccinated and between the Delta strain and restrictions re quarantine etc just easier to go west. Have booked the last two weeks of July off work. Will be nice to have the break from work and a few days in the west.

About to message my friend and see if she is willing to go out in the rain. It does not bother me or the Lab/Goldie but it might not work for her and the JR’s definitely won’t come. Have a good day everyone.

I didn't wake up 'til past 10am. Tbh I could go back and have another couple of hours.

mollyka, poor you. Hope you can get to the dentist's toot sweet.

Got the official blurp from the eye clinic......and its the lovely surgeon that did my left eye doing it.

Good morning Good evening wherever you may be. Sending healing energy through the ether to those in need. You are right to be concerned about the Delta variant, Bridge. It now makes up 20% of cases here in the states. BTW, Ms. Techie and I walked out of a restaurant last night after moi, had a police encounter. Ms Techie, took her mask off at a restaurant dinner table as she had a necklace caught on the neck of her sweater. Waiter said you need to keep your mask on when not eating in not so pleasant way. This ended up outside the restaurant after waiter used the B word. However, it eventually ended well. I think we’ll order room service today!

Evening....was doing a course today Techie 'managing aggressive behaviour'....sounds like that waiter lad could have been someone I could have practised on ;-)
Thanks Jacks...I'll be honest..it's really sore...hard to believe a tooth can cause so much trouble...I'm on antibiotics now so hopefully will improve. It's good to see you back.
With regard to an earlier question Rusters this lady is coming Friday just to help Joe with some basic training that was missed when he was younger and Joe was in hospital...walking easy on a lead ..not jumping..particularly on the smaller grandkids...that sort of stuff...but she's American and very intense sounding...sort of last straw for Joe she sent him a recipe book for treats he has to make for Max for Friday...it's all a bit errrmmm serious...he hoped a few wee lumps of cheese or apple squares were grand...
Going to bed to watch ANYTHING that isn't football on the tele! Night folks

Hello everyboddee!

My colleagues have all scattered to work from home today. Apparently it is, as I warned them, not over... My insistence on working from home has been scoffed at in my new team, so I've feeling somewhat vindicated. They keep pressuring me to come back to the workplace in contravention of their own policies. Their only justification for return is 'team spirit' I keep telling them that I am not catching B.1.617.2 strain for their concept of joie de vivre. The truth is that the CEO said 'jump' and they all mindlessly complied. Jesus I'm sick of sheep.

I hope you can get that tooth fixed Molly. It is a special kind of pain, that.

Techie, do we sometimes think that there are a few folk out there using Covid as an excuse to be d*cks? There have been some Covid wardens who almost got punched in the throat (by me) at times.

Two new eyeballs JC!! Cor....

Anyway, something nice. New show recommendation Sandham Murders: The Sandhamn Murders (TV Series 21– ) - IMDb for Nordic Noir lovers.
