Re: Army June 2021
Morning all
Molls being the listening ear can be so draining - especially when they forget they've told you & tell you again - I feel your pain.
I know though it makes a difference to someone's day for you to listen to them.
I'm also finding it makes a difference to me to be there for someone and feel a sense of purpose..... ( though ask me this eve after 8 hours) :haha:
I'm off now to the workhouse to do a lot of the same. :llama:

Morning everyone.
Belated happy anniversary Molly. It is a balancing act but both yourself and Satz are doing good. For some poor people you might be the only one that they can unload on.
Very grey morning here but not raining so that is a plus and as Tabs says waking up unhungover on a Sunday morning never becomes stale. Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Re: Army June 2021
Evening all from here,
Happy Anniversary Molly and I hope your tooth is on the mend!
Happy 8 years Satz and WOW! :bigwave:
Bridge, keep in touch during lockdown and the thing I always tried to do was contemplate how lucky I am to have a house with a garden to isolate in. I thought of all the people locked up in their apartments and then I'd go outside and sit in my garden in the sun for a little while. Not even to mention the homeless.. and in the middle of winter. The wayside chapel is trying to look after them.
My niece in the cross was going a bit nuts and bought a bottle of vodka the other night out of fear.. Thank goodness she has found a buddy in the same building to stay sober with. They put the vodka down the sink and now they are going shopping together to make sure neither is tempted.
My tree planting was good.. it had been raining for couple of days so lots of sticky mud and al little light rain but the sun did come out and generally a good day was had by all.
Its a microforest project so we planted loads of natives quite close together from grasses to shrubs and trees. Looking forward to see it grow!

Re: Army June 2021
Morning and wavings to the world,
Mr. JC's just gone to pick up Jenny from the station. I am beyond excited.
A wise person once told me (can't remember who) told me that we have to look after ourselves before we can look after others.
Sorry for the quickie but I can't remember the last time I saw her........certainly not this year.
I'll do a proper read back later. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Re: Army June 2021
Thanks Mr G. A bubble partner!!!
I’m ashamed to admit the obvious, which is that this suits me down to the ground. Might start doing some YouTube ‘Yoga with Adrian’ Really good.
Our friends on this thread have done a lot more of this than you and I, so I won’t be complaining any time soon. I just wish I’d been able to get in and get the Pfizer. Have you had yours?
fickle I’ve been think the same thing all the way through this horror. I’ve got a nice cosy home and garden that I love spending time in. Other folks are doing it so much harder.
I’m really interested in your tree planting. What sort of plants are you putting into the microforest? I’ve got a tiny food and medicine forest in the back yard. The plants seem to like each other and growing together. Very relieved for your niece btw. That’s scary.
Congratulations on that Anniversary Molly. I’ve never worked out how folk do it but good on you and well done. Also congratulations on the long conversations. I just cannot be trucking with those.
JC, enjoy your time with your girl. It will be just the shot in the arm that you need, I’m sure. And happy birthday Mikey!
I really dislike having multiple folks staying in my space Satz. Personally I would take myself off to accommodation rather than make the work for my relatives.
I big wave to all-comers. I’ll do some work for a bit.If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Very good call. Yoga releases suppressed stress and trauma and a known path to contentment and inner peace. If that's what one would like for one.

Wavement to all.

Re: Army June 2021
Morning and waves to the universe.
Our 'freedom' day is supposed to be 21st July..I'll believe it when I see it...no masks, no 2 metres apart, we can shop 'til we drop........might have been a bit quicker if our health minister hadn't played tonsil tennis with one of his staff for the last 18 months. Tbh I'm not holding my breath.
It was lovely having Jenny here. It was all too short but we'll see more of her and Ads during the long summer break from school.
The re-furb will be starting again soonish. We've only got the living room to do. I've just got to remember that the plasterer is called Keith...........I've been calling him Arthur for years. We also have to tidy the back bedroom previously known as Mr. JC's office and before that somewhere where we opened the door and chucked random stuff in there. Mikey and I will be having a little holiday upstairs.
byebyebridgetjones Guitarista............why is the vaccine so difficult to get in your place?
Its Mr. JC's birthday tomorrow. I was going to bake a cake but I get my new ear trumpets tomorrow (I only lost one I've just had one ear for sooooooooooooo long) so thought I'll do a run-through Marks & Spencer and get him a cake from there after the appointment. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning
2nd jab yesterday and felt it last night, had a read and then my eyes closed. Arm killing me today  small price to pay...

My sister and I both have friends going through separations at the moment. Although different circumstances, both friends describe the downfall, over many years, exactly the same: He drinks every night. Has lost all ambition and interest in life. neither will stop and both devastated that the wives are walking away, although both marriages have been over for years.
There but for the grace I God I go...AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

The vaccine roll out (and quarantine set up here) has been casual, slack, and riddled, i say fraught with error and incompetence. I don't know why vaccines aren't just delivered and rolled out everywhere. There may've been a little hesitation with the reputation of some vaccines but it's more down to govt. incompetence.
Good luck with the trumpets and happy birthday to 'imself.
