Re: Army June 2021

Guitarista..............thank you for the explanation. But you know what I don't think there's been anywhere that's got it right.
When Mr JC got his letter that he was eligible for the vaccine....we had to book online....his first date was just in town when he tried to book his second jab it was 250 miles away. The website wouldn't let us book our first without booking the second at the same time.
Given the fact we'd been warned it could cause some drowsiness. I wasn't having him nodding off at the wheel and ending up in a tree. He just kept refreshing the page and got both in the same place.

I got in early as I've got COPD and ancient.

Mers, I'll get Arthur/Keith to get in touch. He's really good and doesn't need tea or coffee as he brings his own.

Time to wrap Mr JC's pressies. I'm sure he'll be thrilled with his miniature table tennis and some posh coffee bags. Bit like tea bags but posher.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

.

Afternoon everyone. You are right there JC. Hubby is still not fully vaccinated. He was one of the over 60’s who was given the Astra Zeneca. He’s not very impressed seeing all the younger age groups fully vaccinated (myself and daughter included) before him. Keeps telling me he’s in a vulnerable age group! Delighted you are getting the ear trumpets sorted and got to see Jenny. Am sure Mr JC will love his pressies.

Poor Satz, deep breaths, that’s all you can do. When is the big day?

Hope you are feeling better Mary. Any handy relatives you could call on to do the kitchen?

Waves to everyone else. On my lunch hour.

Gorgeous day today............I had shorts on
Just had a lovely hour sitting in the garden with my friend and the next-door neighbour.
Luckily I checked my e-mails and my appointment is at 8:30am not 9am as I thought so we'll have to be up with the birds to get parked.

Molls, if you're reading hope you've got some relief from the toothache.

I really dislike having multiple folks staying in my space Satz. Personally I would take myself off to accommodation rather than make the work for my relatives.
Hate any folk in my house Bridge - especially 'cos we'll be up to 90 anyway with the wedding - but worse - this is the SIL of Greek holiday fame :egad:
Some people just have no COP ON !!

@IamMary Mers I told yer - no kitchen till everything settles - they'll drive you to drink :haha:
I see it 'round here - jump from job to job so it takes FOREVER ..... bide your time I say.

Here tell me about the morning zoom yoga ....

Re: Army June 2021

JC, we’ve had trouble getting supplies at times and the roll out process for vaccine seems to have been plagued with difficulty. Mr G and my age group was recommended to have AZ, then they promptly pivoted on new health advice (which I am grateful for) Now I’ve had to re-book myself. If you look at our Vacc stats, we are waaaay behind the rest of the world, and we may well be sorry about it. All part of the fun.

Happy Birthday to Mr JC. Good to see that Arthur can come back now. So good to have it buttoned up.

Mers, one armed yoga is all the go I hear. I’m just going to use it as a stretching thing for when I’m really stiff in the morning and go from there.

For those with arthritis, I went back to basics this week and started taking calcium after a convo I had with my Mum. Not sure if I’m just having a good could of days? But much, much less pain. We’ll see.

Rustop I’m surprised that Mr Rusty is not done yet.

Say no more, Satzy. THAT SIL! I threatened my neighbours with nude sunbaking for lockdown. They said they were Ok with it but frightened for the Google Earth people.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

:sohappy::sohappy: I've got two ears and it's weird.
I've even been to Tesco to get Mr. JC a birthday cake but as he's skiving off work early to watch the England v Germany match next door. Actually, it's authorized skiving. His boss said it was okay.
The young lad that does my ear is off sharp as well..........no wonder my appointment was just about at dawn.
I will be in the cupboard under the stairs.

A teeny bit of info............... The Euros is a bit like the World cup but only European countries play in it. Supposed to have happened last year but the pandemic was at its height so delayed until this year.

Well, himself got the best birthday pressie money can't buy.............We beat Germany. :egad: I was under the duvet hiding and himself went next door to watch it.

Our 'Freedom Day' is now 19th July...........forgive me for raising an 'I'll believe it when I see it eyebrow'

New ear trumps in place and I can now hear with both ears. The only thing left is the cataract removal next week and I'll be fully functional by the end of July.

I'm zorsted so I'll say good night now. Hugs and waves to the missing.

Quiet around these parts.
Not a lot of news from me apart from I woke up with fruit pastille stuck in my hair. I had been munching through a bag while I was reading before lights out but I was sooooooooooo tired must have dropped off.

Afternoon everyone.

Very quiet indeed. Nothing very exciting happening here either. Think I will head west tomorrow for a few nights with my SIL. Himself going fishing and think I have done enough in the garden. A change of scene will be welcomed.

Satz must be busy with the wedding preparations. No sign of Stirly in ages, hope all is ok. Waves to everyone else.

Hola Army. I do not believe I mentioned it but we may be moving. We spent the past 1 1/2 weeks house hunting in the Carmel/Monterey area. We did find a home (new build) near Pebble Beach. We put 3% down. However, I’m having second thoughts. While one would need to have a kidney harvested to afford that area, that is only a minor concern ATM. The big one is the weather. It is generally always overcast. Marine layer daily till noon, and an average temp of 65f year round. I love the seasons we have here at home which is three hours east. The home is 3800 square feet, yet there is not much wall space for our art and books. The great room has two walls that are all glass pocket doors. Looks nice but is not practical. Mrs T is more excited about it then moi. I have moved (corporate moves) eight times in the past 30 years. If we do this it will be our last move till we are in our dotage, then a senior living community. Senior living on the coast of Northern California will require the other kidney.

While I tend not to share so much here, this is clearly a sign on my level of ambivalence. Blessings x
