Re: September Army 2021

Morning and waves to the world,
IamMary.................tbh I have no idea. Mind you Jenny had to isolate for 10 days as she'd come into contact with someone who had covid. The thing that puzzled me is that Ads could still go to his school and teach.

There are rumours we're going into mini-lockdown in October for two weeks.........one of which will cover half term break. You know it absolutely gets up my nose as the powers that be have already nicknamed it Locktober. They are just so funny...........not.

Oh and I thought of Satz when I heard rumours that they are going to drop the traffic light crap.

I know you shouldn't wish your life away but 4 weeks today we're off to the Yorkshire Dales for a week. In the middle of nowhere and only horses for neighbours.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

IamMary........delighted with the blinds. He was in and out within half an hour. We've used the same company for nigh on 30 years. Why do you need steel?
byebyebridgetjones............how the feck did that happen.

Re: September Army 2021

Good afternoon Army. We have had the heatwave and now the epic thunderstorms.

Having a bit of a clear out still unable to face all of the clothes but have done some.

During my clearing out I came across a bottle of Gordons Gin. I must have hidden it years ago as Mr A wouldn't have touched it.

I am sure we all hid our secret supplies!

Good morning everyone.

Remembering all those who lost their lives in 9/11. Their loved ones are still suffering. Hard to believe it is 20 years ago. It is one of those events that we never forget where we were when we heard about it. I was doing the school run and remember turning on the tv when I got home.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Great excitement down here in Mayo, flags, bunting etc. They are through to the All Ireland final. Hope to be home in time to see it.

My heart goes out to the USA :heartbeat:

rustop59............
I remember it like yesterday...............I was working then. I'd was only part-time so it was about 1:15pm I'd just got in from work turned the TV on.......... believe me when I say I thought I'd left a video in the machine. I had Dylan on his leash ready for his midday walk and flicked through all the channels.
I then made 3 phone calls, one to Mr JC, one to work and one to my Aunt whose son who works in the US............( one week in the towers and one week in Boston) to turn their radios on. Luckily it was one of the weeks my godson was working in Boston.

Mr. JC's just back from Slimming World and he's lost 9 pounds.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Well done MrJC, sure you knew thr weight would fall off him.
Ripping out walls in the back of the house. 2 big sliding doors going in and a few extra picture windows (north west facing so need to think outside the box). How I will love cleaning glass :happy2:

I remember exactly where I was too during the attacks, wasn't long in my current job, Mr M called me (he'd spent 10 years over there) and we all stood there gob smacked watching the 2nd plane.
Visited the site a couple of years ago, so respectfully done, but hard to take in.

Good luck with the house viewing rustop59. Worth a look anyway.

Hope you chucked that gin brit!! You are doing brilliant, I know it probably doesn't feel like that some days but we think your amazing.

God to see you Bridge. What's the skinny on the job?

Re: September Army 2021

Well done Mr JC! I've heard a lot about Slimming World and how good it is.
I'm still working the old job while the new job get things ready for the new position. But then the new job keeps finding.....well....jobs for me to do, then paying me for it.
That's OK, it suits me to trat the old job with the same respect that they'll always treated me. None.

Thinking of our American friends as always at this time of year.

As of last night we find ourselves linked to a Covid case and are all marching off to the drive through swap first thing tomorrow. Naturally, there was stupidity involved. Never ends, does it? I will be bloody cranky if I turn up positive after 18 months of self imposed lockdown, regardless of the health orders. I really will.

Big shout out to Mr G for three years off the turps
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Re: September Army 2021

It seems to never end (Covid) Bridge... we are all double vaccinated now -- well -- everyone over 12 - don't think they are going to do the kiddies.. but 54% of people in hospital and ICU have been double vaxed -- so like --- is there something they aren't telling us? Just beginning to feel an uneasy 'wondering' --- are they codding us about the vaccines? Have they now discovered they aren't a whole lot of use but don't want to tell us plebs in the world in case the economies have to go back into lockdown.
I'm the furthest thing from an anti-vaxxer in the whole wide world -- but..... just uneasy.

Morning all -- sorry haven't been much around -- life's fierce busy at the moment - still trying to buy a poxy house... we had one in the bag -- highest bid for 4 weeks -- and of course -- along comes some shagging muppet with a higher one... just disenchanted at the mo. particularly when one of the estate agents told us that there wouldn't be any new houses coming for sale until the spring now... latherin HEART!!!

Did you buy your cottage Rusters? You make it sound so easy!!!

Joe's off out on his bike now so house to myself for the day - well except for Max - but he behaves himself ten times better for me than Joe - he knows I don't put up with the same nonsense!!!

Hard clearing out MrsA -- can't even imagine doing it... could one of your daughters do it for you? I know my older sister did it for Mum when Dad died.

Mr G----THREE YEARS -- good god man -- that's fantastic -- how did I miss that? well done indeed xxx

9/11 - was at home when the first tower fell -- was incredulous -- thought it was Orson Welles for a few mins -- had to run down to the school to collect Joey to get his top-up vaccines and saw the second tower go down from the doctor's surgery. Everyone was so gobsmacked there that I was half way home when I realised Joey hadn't got his jab -- had to turn around and get it. Sympathies to anyone who was affected by the tragedy.

Now -- feet up for a few hours and read my book -- re-reading (after about 30 years) The Stand by Stephen King -- I'd completely forgotten the story --- very pertinent to these times -- and very very good!!!

Morning and waves to the world, mollyka..............OMG The Stand...........I have a load of the books Stephen King wrote. Very pertinent at the moment. The Green Mile made me cry.
Same here with the hospitals and it doesn't matter which vaccine you've had.

Sorry about your house woes. Mr. JC has never been busier with people moving........wish he worked on commission.

Meeting Jenny and Ads, then picking my Aunt up and going out for Sunday dinner.

brit............its the Great North Run today. Seems like a 100 years ago you stayed here. You're still one of the S&H's heroes. He thinks I'm a lazy mare.

IamMary.............when we were over for my cousin's wedding a while back we managed two days in New York. We saw the ground zero memorial and got to say shed a few tears.

I'd better get a shift on.........

Good morning everyone.

Fingers crossed that you are negative Bridget. We could be the same. Daughter was out in the city last night and like you will be royally peed off if it comes into the house after avoiding it for so long. It really is never ending and as Molly says we are all beginning to question what is going on.

Nope this house search is not easy Molly. We saw one yesterday, site perfect, cottage a dump. Price war already going on, hubby is going to bid tomorrow and we will see. Not getting my hopes up.

Well done Mr JC, send some of those vibes over here. Trying to be good and made very good choices when out to dinner Friday night. Prawn pil pil for starters and salmon for main. Absolutely delicious and I only stole a few spoons of his cheese cake.

Not sleeping is a pain Brit, maybe tonight will be better after your run. Glad you have plans. Nothing much planned for the day, walk with the doggies, that is it.
