Re: September Army 2021

House Market is nuts everywhere. Wouldn't you love to know if it will blow over.

Youngest is a confirmed close contact. Her best friend in school. Friend has no symptoms. Daughter has 1st vaccine, but not a 2nd yet. She's had the 1st test today and another in 10 days -movements are restricted for the duration. Total pain.

I know Molly about the hospital cases. My Dad's close friend and my sisters godfather passed this morning. He was riddled with cancer, but had some time left, until he got covid. Statistically, he's a fully vaccinated person who died from/with covid in hospital, but in reality, the cancer had him already.

Morning and waves to the world,
mollyka...........Guess what...............the North are having a housing boom. My theory..............because so many have realised they could and can work from home with ease they're buying bigger and much, much cheaper than houses up here than the south. We're only 4 plus hours away from London by train.
One of our neighbours has now got their son and his partner living with them as they got gazumped at the last minute. We 'enjoyed' a good few minutes watching them put their stuff in our neighbour's garage. Of course, their son is passed himself............moving back home with mum and dad in your 30s hasn't sat well.

We had a lovely lunch. There are only 13 years between me and my aunt. She's more like a big sister than an Aunt. Ads and Jenny joined us as well.

Big fat hugs to our Whizzy.

Afternoon everyone.

Delighted you enjoyed your lunch JC and big hugs indeed to Brit.

It would be great to have a crystal ball Mary. I keep thinking what’s for you won’t pass you and not getting too invested. Mind you it’s his dream not mine so that makes it easier. Do the whole family have to isolate or just your daughter. Can’t keep up with who is meant to be doing what.

Very grey here today. Got my walk in so was glad about that. Work busy and again that’s good as the time goes faster.

No it's just herself and its not isolation, just restricted movements, ie, don't leave the house.
1st test neg. Shes half vaccinated and her friend had no symptoms, so I believe both of those mean she's low risk, but who knows!
Funeral tomorrow, but not sure if I should go now, given even the idea that it's floating around in my house. Ah well, will watch online.
I think your spot on JackieClaire, why would people want a city apartment if they could have a garden and space. Well, not me anyway.
But.. are the city prices going up too?

Drinking dream last night. Very disconcerting, felt so real, the disgust, disappointment and the guilt.
Anyway, I've no hangover, so all good

Morning (just) and waves
IamMary........to be honest I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised.

The only other news is I've cricked my right shoulder and I can't get comfortable. I'll blame Mikey for nearly pulling my arms out of their sockets when I walk him.

Sorry to hear that JC, hope it soon improves. The joys of growing old, ugh!

Beautiful day here, wasn’t expecting it but enjoyed it at lunch time. Working week nearly over. Meeting friends for lunch tomorrow. Have not seen them in nearly a year so really looking forward to the catch up. Small little bits of reality. Just hope it continues.

Morning and waves to the undies and those across the pond,
My shoulder gets worse as the day goes on but its easing.

I'm getting my nails done this morning and going to a baby shower this afternoon. I've never been to one as I thought it was more an American thing. It's for my cousin's future daughter-in-law.

Gripe of the day..............an awful lot of dogs/puppies were bought during the lockdown and now so many people are back to work they're being abandoned. The shelters are filling up Mind you if I bang on long enough Mikey might have a little brother or sister.

Good morning everyone.

Oh am sure he would love it and in fairness they are company for one another, just saying same happening here, pity that they were not taught that an animal is for life, not a disposable thing you get rid of when it does not suit you any more. Have no time or patience for those type of people. Rant over.

Have only been to a baby shower once and that was in Canada. It is becoming more popular here and they now have gender reveal parties. Never been to one of those and it could be a while as it does not look like there will be any grandchildren in this house for a while.

Waves to everyone else. Must go and get ready for my lunch date.

Hello Jackie, hopefully your shoulder is on the mend?
Good morning everyone else. Sun is making a reappearance here so I am going out for a walk.

Just had all my electrics sorted as everything was fusing, I find coping with having to sort all these things out so difficult. Up to now I have had to find a person to service the boiler, find a chimney sweep, fix the leaking gutters and get someone to help me with the garden. All this is so new to me.

Morning and waves to the world,

I got all ready for the baby shower yesterday..............nails done, casual but smartly dressed and a little gift in a bag...........just sat waiting to for my sister in law to pick me up............had another look at the calendar and the fecking thing is today. I felt a right tool actually still do.

brit........aah bonnie lass, I feel for you. Our window cleaner has just done our gutters..........I was just having a chat with him about how hard it was to find someone and he said he did it. So we have now have lovely clean gutters and he replaced a tile that we didn't know had gone. We got our decorator through him as well. They seem to know everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Really enjoyed the lunch and the catch up. So good to be able to do normal stuff. Feel for you dealing with work men Brit. I have always had to do it as hubby was working or away and they are a nightmare here. My tolerance level is zero now and I have given a lot of them their walking papers. Not doing me a favour, am paying well. They either act professionally or are gone. How are you getting on Mary?

Well you won’t believe it but himself has gotten his retirement place. Viewed Saturday, put offer in Monday, counter offer straight away. He messaged me and said would he put in a larger offer, bringing us up to our limit? I said what about €2k and play around for a few more offers. He did that and it was accepted! So we will have water, trees and a shed! Fingers crossed that it all goes through.

That’s my excitement for the week. Just back from lovely walk so need a coffee.

Evening all! Hilarious Rusters - we have just this evening had our offer accepted on a lovely wee house/cottage... very excited -- well - very excited until Joe went into overdrive trying to do everything re. buying and moving in 24 hours -- he actually sulked cos I wouldn't go down on Sunday to 'measure up for furniture' ---- ach - he'll unwind eventually -- but I'm happy out with it... big move won't be till I retire tho -- it'll be long weekends etc. in the meantime. Congrats to you and Mr. for your holiday home -- seems like we were both lucky!

How's everyone? My dread is dealing with drains or gutters or hedges or painting or any of those awful things -- but hey ho -- my mum managed and if she did - I'm sure I'll be able if and when I have to... sending hugs Whizzy xxx

I've managed to avoid the shower syndrome so far -- the gender reveal -- oh latherin heart -- there are an obnoxious couple in another branch of our organisation --- everything is about them -- nobody as important as them -- we were All invited to their gender reveal -- unfortunately I had to pick my toenails that night.... they baked a cake with blue or pink inside so the 'reveal' would be when the cake was cut... imagine the hilarity of all when it was cut and the colours had run -- it was green..... nearly wished I'd been there for it.

Must away -- apparently I have to discuss how to get rid of ancient oak furniture -- omg this is going to be a long year!

WOW ladies, that is fantastic!! Cant believe you both got the houses you wanted! So how long before you get the keys? Any work to be done? Old, new, big garden, small garden?? Rustop, will yours be your holiday retreat? I dont think your selling up?? is it far from home?
Molly, I hope you have the internet at least! will you hold on to your house up here for a while?
Thats great news, congratulations.

Off tomorrow, still have the youngest at home as a close contact, so need a neg test on Monday. Pain.
Need to stock up on some supplements for my teens. Older ones complaining of lack of focus and sleep, any recommendations? its a minefield in those health shops.
