Just having a go from kindle. .....internet a bit sketchy to say the least.....morning from the sunny Yorkshire Dales. Oddly the internet works better downstairs than upstairs.
Huge congratulations for our Tabbers and Stirls.:welldone:

So sorry about your daughter, Rusty One of those situations you want to take over their pain.

Don't know what we're doing today. Prolly just a nice walk and then back to lie on the settee doing nothing.

Waves to all.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon everyone.

Enjoy your holiday JC. Hope you are getting some of this beautiful weather.

Back at work today. When you finish your gaff Mary, pop over to mine, it’s a mess after only being gone a few days.

Hope your totally chilled out by now JackieClaire. Is the place fab?

I'll be right over with my feather duster Rustop :happy2:

All go here. Eldest came home with tummy aches, then loads more had the same in school (unless it was a collective fast one, but hes a terrible liar).
Then my Dad decided to tell us hes been getting chest pains on walks (we did one yesterday), ended up in the Mater. He hates 'fuss' so didnt tell us when he was done and got a bus home! Back in for more tests and likely a stent, next week.
Of course many mini dramas, a missing ballet shoe, empty pesto jar and listening to some bloke drone on for 3 entire hours (for my sins).
Just as well I dont 'deserve' a drink anymore.

Hoping tomorrow is dull.

Afternoon everyone.

Never rains but it pours comes to mind. Hope your Dad is ok Mary and that today is a dull day. Duller weather wise, the sun seems to have disappeared.

Hope it is shining on you JC and that you are enjoying your break. Nothing too exciting here, work, grocery shopping and the highlight, getting my eyebrows done after work. Waves to everyone else.

Good morning from The Chilly Sierra’s. Sending light and prayer for your dad, Mary. Hope you are having a wonderful break away, JC. Busy day here after a long morning run. Unlike Rusters, I Will not be getting my eyebrows done. Have a great day, evening or night wherever you may be. Blessings x

@IamMary sending good wishes to Daddy - he will be fine IF he goes back for the next tests which will show if he needs stents. Tell him the dog in the street has stents these days. :haha:The Mater hospital is full of state of the art equipment.
Laughing at the mini crisis (s) Mary. :harhar:

My MAJOR crisis is the immersion water heater has packed it in - must be there 30 years
Not sure if I need a plumber or electrician ............ both as rare as hen's teeth

How do you all heat water in mild weather?

Satz my SIL down west has no Emerson. They have an electric shower and then some sort of water heater under the sink. Now they don’t have a dishwasher so it is just water for the kitchen sink they are heating. All sorts of new gadgets. Wonder if ideal homes on this year. Night all.

Thanks for the Daddy wishes, hes grand, back in Thursday.
Thats interesting Rustop. What else does the immersion do if not heating the water for showers and baths?
We're getting one of those hot water taps soon. Ill be honest, I'm beyond excited.

Hi all. I’m interested in the water heating issue. I pay a huge water bill living in California. It’s usually $275 to $290/month. Of course everything is over the top expensive here. I had instant hot water installed and have tankless water heaters. To run a rap or a shower for 10 minutes till it’s hot is not cost effective at all. How is the situation where you are?

Afternoon everyone.

There is an ongoing joke about the Irish and turning off the immersion Techie. It is heated by electricity and the longer it is on the more it costs. Think a lot of the newer houses have solar panels etc. We don’t pay for water, the government tried to bring in a water charge a few years ago and there was uproar. God knows we have enough rain. Our house is about 40 years old and we heat by oil and have a stove and an open fire. In the winter when the heat is on, it heats the water. In the summer we use the immersion. Fuel costs are going up here this winter. Getting logs today and it is €15 more per skip bag than last year.

Beautiful day here again. My SIL is coming for a few days to help with some DIY chores and hopefully we will get a few walks in.

What are they Mers ??? Where do you get them ?
Surely you'd need hot water in bathroom sinks too ?

.
Turf is banned ; Logs have to be non-kiln dried , Coal has to be smokeless ; we've to give up diesel cars; FFS ! Won't be voting for the shagging Green Party anytime soon ....
Rusty our house is 43 years old & I swear I don't remember the immersion ever not working :egad:
So best not complain. Probably just the element needs changing.
