Happy sober Sunday folks, just laying in the bed still, thinking how lucky and blessed I am to know for 100% absolute certainty that today I will not drink. Don’t think I will ever tire of this feeling, it’s a gift we all have within ourselves to give to ourselves if we want it badly enough. Took me decades but I got there in the end so never ever give up, it’s all about mindset imo.
Good morning Tabs and everyone else.

That feeling never grows old, thanks for reminding us. I have been on the early shift as we have three puppies and they are not very well. Woke and heard them crying so I got up to them. Poor little things.

The sun is shining so just enjoying a coffee and then I’ll take the dogs out.

Morning,
rustop59...............Ireland's St. Francis BTW if you go to a Yorkshire village you have to have a labrador or 2.....I don't know if it's the law but Mikey looked out of place.

Went down like a ton of bricks with a sort of cold yesterday. I had my flu jab on Saturday and they give you three pages of blurb and mine was under 'Mild side effects. It didn't feel mild at all.

We're now on tenterhooks as our godson is due to become a daddy this week. He's my favourite cousin's son and she's so excited we'll have to scrape off the ceiling when this little one arrives.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon everyone.

Oh that’s lovely news JC. Hope you are soon feeling better.

techie, hope you are ok too? Was browsing some if the other threads this morning and saw that you had been in a car crash. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Hope all ok in Molly land, also with everyone else. Life is full of trials and tribulations.

Hi folks. Yes, we were hit in the rear at high speed as we were heading to Souther California to visit friends. Our SUV has extensive frame damage and is in a tow-yard about an hour from our home. We were able to rent a car in another town. We have some injuries that we are being treated for but nothing too serious. Thank you for thinking of us.

KTAB, I have 23 solar panel installed on the roof of our home. They are not enough. We still pay a true up to our utility, PG&E of around $1600/ year. The home is about 4000 sq ft. We are currently working with our solar company to see how we can offset that cost. I have tankless electric waters heaters and they are part of the installed solar !

Good morning everyone

Wow Techie, you were both very lucky. Any wreck you walk away from is good, the alternative does not bare thinking about.

Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning JC? Raining earlier but got my walk in. Puppies or at least two of them doing better, not sure if the third will make it. One of our little dogs was attacked on Sunday by a Newfoundland. She’s lucky to be alive. My husband had to intervene, he was lucky he was not bitten. She’s on antibiotics and pain meds. Always something !

Morning and feeble waves from the sickbed.
techie..............so glad you're still with us. You are always so supportive of all of us, we'd be lost without you.

IamMary..............kitchen tops continued. Why can't they just call it........' very dark grey and as tough as granite' . The fitters left a huge piece in their skip and I pulled it out and lugged it into the garage.....must have taken half an hour...we'd paid a blooming fortune for it so it was mine..... I'm sure we'll find a use for it someday.

rustop59............that's horrible.......always thought Newfoundlands were gentle dogs.
I'm just bunged up, beyond tired, and praying it doesn't go to my chest. Of course, I've checked the Covid symptoms about two thousand times now.

Right, I'm back to bed with my hot water bottle. I've got to get fit for my little brother's 60th birthday party on Saturday. Its fecking Halloween fancy dress. Actually, I could go now as I look like death warmed over.

Totally agree on the names for everything JackieClaire.. I got myself a Ral booklet and everything has numbers. Arctic blonde and nettle soup are just r4567 and r7890. Much easier.. Great idea on the worktop, nothing gets wasted here either. The current wooden worktops will reappear, probably as a book shelfs - apparently bookshelves, in every single room is still not enough.. Molly could probably work from here.

Your poor dog rustop59, never a dull moment, is there. We're you out walking when it happened?
V sad drowning near us yesterday. 53 and a very strong swimmer, got caught in a rip. His friend survived. I didn't know him but a few friends did.

On a lighter note, anyone watching Squid? Don't think I fancy it.

And delighted you and Mrs techie are ok!

Good morning everyone.

Miserable morning here. Not working today but am on the next two days as the girl I job share with is off. Then off for two weeks so looking forward to that.

No Mary I had taken the other two down to the river, he goes up to the top of the mountain. Would say it was mayhem. Poor thing was in and out all night, her tummy is sick with all the medication. We just left the window open and she hopped in and out. The little puppy died, hope the other one makes it, he is still weak. The biggest one is eating and drinking and getting stronger by the day.

Waves to everyone, very quiet around the barracks these days.

rustop59.............poor wee pup. I'll keep everything crossed for the other wee one.

IamMary.............I always have a reaction to the flu jab............. I'm normally just tired all day.

I have what is called a stinker of a cold.

Interesting article from the Guardian..............Return of the common cold: infections surge in UK as autumn arrives | Common cold | The Guardian.

Evening all! -- I'm really sorry - I've not really read back -- but I'm tired and just in from work and aware that I'm not posting - so it was either not posting or posting without reading... so apologies for what I may have missed... speed reading - Jacks has the snots -- sorry for you -- haven't had anything for 2 years now -- but that's down to wearing a mask 8 hours a day I guess --- does give you horrible skin tho!
Poor wee pup Rusters -- is he ok? why do you have so many pups?

Mary and the kit hen -- we had a boiling water tap -- they're probably much better now - but ours silted up cos we didn't change the filter soon enough --- apparently that was very important -- loved it when we had it tho.

that's it -- as far as I've gone back - so hi to all -- going to bed now with Stephen King! night night xx

Hi everyone. Thank you for your caring support. We are doing ok, but some new aches and pains are surfacing. I’m having a CT scan on Tuesday due to my head injury. I have weakness in my arms and hands. I was not about to pull the little foil covering off my my new toothpaste tube. Yikes. Sending healing vibes to you, JC. I guess I’ll get the flu jab next week since I’m seeing a bunch of docs. I too typically get an unpleasant reaction. Sorry to hear about the puppy, Rusters. BTW, I love blondes but never dated an Arctic one! Have a great day, evening or night wherever you may be. Blessings x

Everything Molls said up there. I've been working a lot too - they are short people & I'm really fecked most days when I get home.
I can't talk about the poor puppies or your lovely doggie Rusters - so sad.
Your daughter is a vet yes ? And you are a saint who takes in the abandoned & sick doggies ? Am I right.
