This weekend we are clearing out the kitchen. absolutely dreading it and havnt really thought through the consequences of living in the sitting room and hall.
Wont be forever.
Good news in work, new working policy will include all possibilities, work from home 5 days, job share, part time, 4 day week etc. We are all in shock, its an old manufacturing plant and slow to move forward. However, they cant get staff so have to make it more attractive now.

Hope your dose is easing [MENTION=7008]JackieClaire[/MENTION] and your feeling a bit better too [MENTION=11089]techie[/MENTION]. That must have given you both quite a shock.

Today 60 years ago my perfect spoiled life as an only child ended when my brother was born. I had no idea my mum was pregnant I just thought she was fat. I got chucked over the fence to the neighbours for a few hours then brought home there was this baby. Tbh I thought my Ma and Pa were babysitting didn't have an inkling that he was here forever.
Tbh I've grown rather fond of him over the years.
His party is Saturday afternoon and Halloween themed...........rolls eyes. I'm going as a witch and Mr. JC is Frankenstein's monster.

Something different besides just sitting in a bloody pub.
This is what I have to do on Saturday as DD is heading off soon & having 'drinks' in the local. FFS !!!

Oh you poor thing Satz, was only thinking the other day how great it was that there was no pressure to go to pubs anymore but I guess we really are getting back to normal. You have it right regarding the animals and the vet. I am ready to kill her and then I see the state they are in and I soften.


This full time work is tiring, no wonder yourself and Molly are tired in the evenings. Hope the family situation has sorted itself Molly and that you are feeling better today JC. You will appreciate the new kitchen all the more, having slummed it Mary.

Evening all -
When we had the kit hen at full tilt -- as in - no water - no appliances - no nothing really -- we filled buckets from the outside tap and brought the microwave into the sitting room and I cooked a dinner in the kitchen at work and brought it home.... we were only a few days like that tho and the water was back on at night for showers etc.... it was a wee bit of an adventure really but wouldn't have liked it for more than a few days!

You deffo should be sainted with all those doggies Rusters --- I don't have that love of creatures I have to admit!

Lit the wood burning stove tonight for the first time this year -- oh I'd forgotten how lovely it is..

Was thinking exactly the same Molls. I supposed to be part-time but she keeps asking me to cover for dopes who can't be arsed coming to work :rant:
I've worked a 5 day week last 2 weeks & that included Sat & Sunday. It is too much really.

I love the work and NEED to get out there & talk to people ( I'll kill MrS someday I swear - such a NAG sometimes)
So I'll carry on but will need to tell her no more that 2 /3 days a week ....

Sounds like they are short staff. Same everywhere really. However, that's not your problem, they are lucky to have you PART time!

Anyone listening to Joe Duffy this week, I wasn't, but apparently some chat about an electrician regularly going to women's houses for jobs and finding the bottle of wine out since morning. Cant find the show though so maybe there wasn't much discussion on it. Pity.

I've had a change of heart. We found a bin liner full of stuff from when the kids used to fancy dress all the time including Halloween. There's hats, cloaks, wigs all in there. We were like two 10-year-olds.
I got myself a witch's dress for £12 and Mr JC got a t-shirt with skulls and graves on in for £6 from Tesco................so we're embracing it to the nth degree.
I also had a trip up the amazon and got Mr. JC a chain with a skull on it and hoping his clip on skull earrings arrive today.
They're clip on.

Woke up to a beautiful Autumn morning and asked his Royal Highness (Mikey) if he'd give me half an hour should go for a walk. In that half-hour its changed to 'I wouldn't go over the 'doorstep if you paid me weather.' and he's gone back to bed anyway.

Afternoon everyone

Costumes sound great, am sure you will have a ball JC. Weather same here, wore heavy jacket this morning and was way too warm.

Guess work is like everything else, all about balance. I don’t mind filling in the odd time but not on a regular basis.

Heard bits of Joe this week but not that part Mary, not a bit surprised though.

Finally got copy of planning for cottage we are buying and they do have septic tank so that is a relief. Slow but things are moving.

Good morning everyone.

Very quiet around here at the moment. Windy this morning but hope to get out for a walk later. We still have a way to go with the cottage, our solicitor has a list of things she needs but the most important thing was that they had planning permission and the septic tank, otherwise we would have had to pull out.

Morning from a very tired JC............I'll not need make-up for the fancy dress do this afternoon and I have a sneaking feeling we'll be the only ones that do dress up.
My own fault as I started to watch Four Hours at the Capitol. It was about when the White House was attacked. Tbh I was just channel surfing for something to watch as I wasn't really ready for bed. I just couldn't move and didn't get to bed until after 2 am. It was horrendous in places and very moving in places.

[MENTION=15758]rustop59[/MENTION]................Mr JC does a lot of conveyancing...............he's had rows between the vendor and buyer about whether they're leaving the front doorstep mat. Its no wonder he's nearly bald.

Evening all.. PTL re. the septic tank Rusters... very expensive thing to add on!! Guessing a lot of non-Irish may have no idea what we are talking about! hurrah rural Ireland!! The one in the house we're buying is stuck in the middle of the back garden -- going to have to build a rockery around it or something to disguise it.

Little or no news... poor old Max was awful sick last night -- some sort of bacterial infection the vet says -- but it was PATHETIC to see him shaking and curled up -- realised I sort of probably do love him despite his boldness... was WISHING for boldness last night... anyway -- grand today -- the joys of youth -- it's as if nothing ever happened -- takes his medicine as if it's sweeties -- so all is good again.

Hope the fancy dress goes ok Jacks -- was up with the wee grandsons today and great excitement getting themselves ready for halloween -- jeez -- my poor kids used to get a black bag put over their heads halloween evening and 'OFF YOU GO' ---

This is the absolute madness that is this country: nightclubs open - let's ALL go !!! Sure God help us we haven't been out for 2 years .... yeah right !

While in the real world we're getting tested to within an inch of our lives in case we infect a 95 year old.
All ICU beds taken up with those who will not get vaccinated. Leaving children with their spines bent by 90 degree + left to live in constant horrific pain waiting for one of those ICU beds.
The world is fecking mad !

Yes, it is a bit quiet here Rustop. That happens sometimes, doesnt it, and then a few come back and it gets noisy again.
Started moving the contents of 'under the stair' out to the hall. Massive declutter but its exhausting. Tomorrow, the contents of the kitchen units and I have no idea where its all going to fit :hopelessness:
