Happy sober Sunday to all, 6.30am wake up sober is one of the highlights of my week. Obviously not a lot of excitement in my life right now but that’s kind of how I like it these days. Contentment and peace of mind a words that best describe.
Have to highly highly recommend a series of podcasts called ‘One for the road’ by David Wilson aka Sober Dave. They are one on one chats with people about sobriety and honestly some of them have me laughing out load and have moved me to tears, brilliant.

Hi folks. Yes, we were hit in the rear at high speed as we were heading to Souther California to visit friends. Our SUV has extensive frame damage and is in a tow-yard about an hour from our home. We were able to rent a car in another town. We have some injuries that we are being treated for but nothing too serious. Thank you for thinking of us.

KTAB, I have 23 solar panel installed on the roof of our home. They are not enough. We still pay a true up to our utility, PG&E of around $1600/ year. The home is about 4000 sq ft. We are currently working with our solar company to see how we can offset that cost. I have tankless electric waters heaters and they are part of the installed solar !

Glad you both ok and ‘walked away’ from the idiot who rear ended you, that must have been a serious fright.
23 solar panel is a heck of a lot, but your house is huge by Irish standards so I can see why it would cost a lot no matter what system is put in place. About 1500sqft would be about average here I would say or maybe smaller even.

Little or no news... poor old Max was awful sick last night -- some sort of bacterial infection the vet says -- but it was PATHETIC to see him shaking and curled up -- realised I sort of probably do love him despite his boldness... was WISHING for boldness last night... anyway -- grand today -- the joys of youth -- it's as if nothing ever happened -- takes his medicine as if it's sweeties -- so all is good again.

Ahh poor Max, of course you love him, how could you not? Just like a naughty toddler right now but the good news is he will grow out of it and mellow, just like myself haha.

I am not up quite as early as you Tabs but it is a great feeling and I love reading your musings, must check out that podcast, thanks.

Agree with you Satz, absolute madness, God knows what we have ahead of us, dread the thought of another lock down.

Decluttering is hard work Mary but there is a great sense of satisfaction.

Glad Max is feeling better, of course you love him, that’s what they do to you.

Hope you were feeling well enough to enjoy the party JC and are enjoying a lie in.

Okay the house we've bought in Mayo is 135 sq metres which works out at just over 1400 sq feet...my reservation was it was too big!!
Decluttering ....mmm hate the thought of it Mary but quite enjoy doing it ....huge de-clutter ahead of us too!!
Hope all else okay...family rocking up today so busy one ahead...have to clean the house when the lads bring their partners...the lads notice nothin :egad:

Yep we went to the party and we dressed up. Gawd knows what people thought when they passed our car to see a pink-haired witch and a ginger pirate.
I even got a hug from my brother which will make that about 4 in his 60 years on this planet.
Even the two Grandmas made an effort. We were away by 8pm (it started at 3pm as there were a lot of little ones there).............there was someone in a dinosaur outfit. The trouble with that was if he turned around his tail kept knocking food of buffet.

One of those Grandmas will have woken up a Great Grandma...............my cousin's son (well not him..........his partner) had a little boy early this morning. If the mum had waited a day I'd have won the sweep we did at her baby shower...........I had her down for today. He's a healthy 7llb 3oz prolly home by now.

[MENTION=9094]satz123[/MENTION]............same here. My cousin's husband is a surgeon and ICUs are packed again so he's having to cancel a good few of his surgeries. He's furious. Seeing how I was a witch yesterday I can foresee another lockdown.

Agree with this Techie. They are BY FAR the nicer, more loving, even tempered, loyal species. Don't hold grudges for a lifetime.
You can walk around looking like the back of a bus and they don't care. They still love you.
Who says we're the more intelligent creatures. We tie ourselves in a knot working all our lives & acquiring 'things' then .......... we die..... not really intelligent.
They live in the moment & enjoy it while it's actually happening.

Honestly I cant see another lockdown, not with everyone vaccinated. Or most.

The last item to move today was the kettle, making the hall, officially, the kitchen. Challenging times ahead!

Thanks Techie, so true. Afternoon everyone else and congratulations JC. . Just back from the Ideal Home Exhibition, very disappointed. Very few Irish companies and no show house. Bought a cleaning product, Whiterocks, meant to be ecological and environment friendly. If it cleans my brass fender I’ll be happy, it’s a job I hate. Huge check point on way in, about 50 guards, we were waved on but think it was drink/drugs check.

Off now to walk the doggies, beautiful bright, sunny autumnal day.

Then to the pub for lunch.

We're all fecked now - & Rosie's been sick from hoovering up BBQ chicken.
