Re: November Army Thread
Good morning everyone
Glad the rib is healing Brit. Just being outside helps, fresh air and the colours are amazing this time of year. You are right to make things easier on yourself. We get some help in the garden and I’ve had clean teams in from time to time but a regular set up would be bliss. As the other ladies said treat yourself too.
Note to Mary, plan on a clean team after building work. You will have dust for months but just having someone else come and clean even once is amazing. I did that the Xmas after our building work. How is it going by the way?
Waves to everyone else. In work today so doing this on break.

Re: November Army Thread
What about signing up for a run in the new year brit, something to aim for and look forward to when that rib is healed. You are a lot stronger than that little voice, who's full of empty promises. Have you got some nice treats and a good book/series to get stuck into?

Its going fine. Steel is up. They are working away on other bits. I'm just worried that the windows wont be delivered on time and they will delay everything. Kitchen is booked for installation on Dec 9th, worktop, the following week, assuming the windows are not delayed.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: November Army Thread
Good morning Army friends. Thank you for the positive feedback and yes it was lovely to wake up knowing I hadn't had that drink I was planning.
Going over to Liverpool to meet up with running friends and going for a walk. THEN going to buy myself a new pair of jeans.
A bit worried about going over to Liverpool (because of the bomb) However,I am not going to let that stop me.
Speak to you later

Keep checking in Brit if it helps keep you on track, that’s what we are here for. Glad you are going to meet your friends and not letting the madness stop you. My God, it seems to be going from bad to worse.
Not going to dwell on it, too depressing and afraid of where it would lead. Fingers crossed windows arrive Mary, at least it is something to look forward to.
Not a lot happening here. Work week nearly over and then I can go back to my cleaning job! I still have runt puppy staying. He is improving but not house trained of course. Just as well he is so sweet.

Good woman brit. Hold onto that morning feeling. God I used to fear the morning, even when I climbed the stairs swaying, cross with myself again. It was all so pointless.
How was Liverpool?
Looks like we are heading for more restrictions again. Nurses and Doctors and everyone in hospitals must be totally exhausted.
Dinner ideas that doesnt require an oven and is not a curry (my family will be speaking with an indian accent soon)?
Working with a single camping stove, a slow cooker, a pressure cooker and a George foreman!AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: November Army Thread
Good morning everyone.
God, I don’t envy you Mary, hard enough trying to think of something and having a full working kitchen. Neville does a crispy chicken taco on the pan and only takes a few minutes. He uses chicken, kidney beans, coriander and cheese but they could choose their own filling. You brush a tortilla with oil put on pan, put your filling on one side of tortilla, flip the other half on top, cook one side for a few minutes and then turn. Baked potato in microwave and that’s it. It is quick and easy. I’ll try and think of a few more. I have a very quick Kung po, again on the pan. I’ll look it up if you are interested.
Glad you treated yourself Brit, am sure it was nice to see friends and get out. We are facing restrictions again, nightclubs faced with closing early. Hard on the young ones but does not affect me. Won’t have my crochet class again this week as two family members of teacher have covid.
On a brighter note it is another beautiful sunny morning and I have just had my walk.

Re: November Army Thread
Beautiful sunny morning. Off to have lunch with old friends who we spent many happy times and holidays with.
Didn't manage to buy any jeans as they all looked awful on me. Shops were manic as everyone is Christmas shopping.
I came home and managed to shop online.
One of the friends I went walking with yesterday morning, had her 2 dogs with her and the older one who looked unwell had to be put to sleep later that afternoon. So sad for the family and my lovely friend.
On a happier note I have just ordered a hand held Dyson!!

Re: November Army Thread
Evening..at work so just a quick one...I could try 10 pairs of jeans before I'd find a nice pair...don't despair MrsA:victorious:
Tilly's dad has Covid....just feels very very close now...she was with him last weekend..awaiting PCR test...if she's positive I think I've to stay home for 5 days...haven't even done any Christmas shopping yet!

Re: November Army Thread
Rustop, thanks for that.. perfect. I'll do that over the weekend!
I'm using lots of jars, guilt free as I don't have the means to make from scratch. Most are pretty good too! I might be converted.
Who needs jeans when you have a Dyson brit. I can't keep up with jean fashion now. Apparently my skinnys are so yesterday.
Agree Molly, hearing of a few cases now that are not a million miles away. You see Tilly most days, don't you?
In other news, Mr M found some weed in my sons room.. ahhh.. he doesn't drink (despises it) and was delighted to "talk" about it. He had all the 'facts' and said he only smoked a few times over the summer (as did I at his age, but them a lot more in my 20s.. I didn't share this).
Head melted, more so as son is so logical about it all.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Re: November Army Thread
Had this done last night & forgot to hit 'post' ................
Was working today - fecked
Agree on the closeness of it all this time Molls.
Seems to be everywhere
But silver lining - if it was last year we'd be in big trouble with no vaccine.
Was ok though to allow 60,000+ at 2 big matches at the weekend - and then are surprised when the numbers go up ?
They may have been outdoors but were on top of each other with no masks & no doubt FILLED the pubs afterwards.
THEN they pick on the pubs & nightclubs again - FFS! ---- it appears that Covid only comes out after 12 midnight and then goes to a nightclub - double standards.

Re: November Army Thread
On the subject of weed it kinda passed me by. Left school - job - met MrS - got married - babies.
Went a bit nutty around 30 though but still never dabbled mainly because I wasn't mixing in those social circles.
The way I look at it is ... it's no different from alcohol - alcohol is just a legal drug. Gateway to other drugs ?
imo Just bullshit we're being fed over the years. That gateway is always there and any drug legal or illegal can bring us there.
There were friends of mine in the 70's who took other stuff but I was terrified. I didn't want to lose control
Stuck to the 'safe' option of alcohol - where I could lose control gradually :haha:
Look where that got me....Last edited by satz123; November 18, 2021, 03:33 AM.
