Didn't manage to buy any jeans as they all looked awful on me. Shops were manic as everyone is Christmas shopping.
I came home and managed to shop online.
One of the friends I went walking with yesterday morning, had her 2 dogs with her and the older one who looked unwell had to be put to sleep later that afternoon. So sad for the family and my lovely friend.
On a happier note I have just ordered a hand held Dyson!!
Bought a pair of fitted bootcut - which I balked at because of wearing them first time round - but I think I've got it right they are quite flattering. Even if I look like a throwback to the 70's
I think Mr Dyson should be Knighted - LOVE mine.

I had one Dyson and it was absolutely useless, no proper suction. Because I paid so much I kept it longer than I should have. Will never buy one again and went back to Miele, cat and dog model that I had before.
Agree about the jeans, very hard to get it right but thank God the low slung are gone out of fashion. Not very flattering to my flabby belly.:happy2:
:welldone: Molly, that was genius. I was like Satz, too chicken to try any other stuff and being honest there was not a lot of it about. Stuck to the safer option of alcohol. That turned out great didn’t it!
Another beautiful morning here. Never remember it so mild in November but I am enjoying it.

Re: November Army Thread
Just in to say goodnight.
MrS went to a funeral today in Co Mayo.
Left at 7:20am and got back at 10pm - complete nonsense the things people do to 'show respect'. I dunno maybe it's me. Would I expect people to travel to the other end of the country - in a pandemic - to show respect when I kick the bucket ? Maybe :haha:
How the cooking going Mers ? Slow cooker is brill. One pot wonders. There is a FB group Mers and they literally cook everything in it. Whole chickens n' all.
They look anemic (the chickens - not the FB posters) but taste yummy.
My cooking from scratch is fresh meat & veg & a jar of good sauce if I can get away with it. Life's too short to be faffing with 10 different spices & chopping garlic (yuk)
Having said that I have lamb shanks for tomorrow so I'll do the whole red wine 'jus' malarkey for that.Last edited by satz123; November 18, 2021, 05:44 PM.

Im over the weed incident now..
Funerals - yep, they are all the rage again, but I still prefer the online version.

Yea where is Bridget, she was working two jobs the last time she checked in. I would prefer the online funerals too, hate them and would only travel at the moment if it was a family member.
OMG this weather is amazing, I will be taking my summer walking stuff out again at this rate. Not complaining but it is not the norm. Had a lovely walk and now having my coffee. Might motivate myself then to do a few things in the house.

Starting to get sucked into the Christmas shite already & buying stupid things .... that I probably have in the attic already ......... so no more shops till New Year :haha:

Good day, Army. Yes, I miss Bridget and JC. Of course, I’m a big fan of routine and check this thread daily. So, go on back you two. I see the fricking COVID is starting to surge again. BTW, I live in the least vaccinated county in California. WTF is wrong with people. What I tell people who are paranoid about the COVID vaccine that they need to understand is once you get the shot, you won't even FEEL the microchip. Hahaha. Have a great day!Last edited by techie; November 19, 2021, 11:15 AM.Outside of a dog a book is mans best friend. Inside of a dog its too dark to read

Then I thought if I was younger, maybe just married & thinking of a family would I be as quick to have every vaccine I'm being offered ?
Maybe the flu 'cos it's around years but this vaccine is relatively new - & has yet to be REALLY proven 100% safe over many years.
I still remember the fallout from the Thalidomide tragedy :egad:
So possibly understandable in some cases of anti-vaxers.? I dunno...... just sayin if I were younger ............. I think about it more maybe.
Thalidomide - an anti-nausea medication - was taken off the market. Experts estimate that thalidomide led to the death of approximately 2,000 children and serious birth defects in more than 10,000 children, about 5,000 of them in West Germany.

If people refuse to take it then that is their choice but they shouldn’t expect to mix freely with those that are trying to protect themselves by having taken it and in particular vulnerable people. Just my opinion and as we know everyone has one of those.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?

And I 100% agree with your opinion...however I think the waning immunity probably makes the rest of us as big a risk anyway...and anyone who got dumped with AstraZeneca is very much at risk...Tilly just tested negative PTL but her Dad is quite illContentedly sober since 27/12/2011

Re: November Army Thread
Hi Molly you may be correct are about the effectiveness of the vaccines wearing off as time goes by, possibly by up to 50%, hence the third jab being rolled out. I read Leo Varadkar told CNN news yesterday that Ireland currently only has 5% unvaccinated people but yet about half of the ICU cases are made up of people who are not fully vaccinated. Fairly sobering thought for those who choose that route no?Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
