Re: November Army Thread

Good morning everyone.

It is only a day and really too much hype, too soon about it. Not going to get involved until after 8th December. No smallies so no pressure. That must have been a nightmare Molly, bet you were thankful for a clear head. I actually found it easier during covid, did everything online and no pressure to go out. Mainly go out for lunches. Avoid the glitter and night time do’s if at all possible.

Lovely and mild here today, did not mind doing my early walk in it.

Oh God love you that is horrible. And was also around Christmas you decided to go to the quare place - so that would be an association too.
I get that sinking feeling when I think of Christmas in Australia.
I had been sober from July until December @ Dublin Airport before we went. Then we got upgraded to First Class & I drank my way to Dubai.
Family chose to pick that holiday to confront my drinking but I was in the height of it by then & carried on until I got home.
No way was I having a holiday without alcohol :egad:

That was then - and my mindset then - now I embrace a sober holiday, feel 'holier than thou' ( don't care - it's true) not needing to drink & remember everything about it.

Hey Techie!
Ach we don't have to relive those times I spose..have to remember how strong we are ..how many people would give their right arm to have what we have right now..so let's pat ourselves on the back just now and again!!

Good morning everyone.

Thanks for the laughs Techie, we are a small army at the moment so your input is appreciated. As Molly said we have to remember how strong we are... people would give their right arm to have what we have. All of us or our families have been through difficulties this past year but we are still here, putting one foot in front of the other and making new plans and all sorts. Bualadh bos for all of us.

Now off to walk the doggies as the sun is shining.

Definitely bualadh bos Rusters..we really need to remember...and maybe when we're cross with ourselves because we may have not done something the 'right' way...or hurt someone unintentionally ..we should think of the chaos we'd probably be causing around us if still drinking...I don't doubt my drinking would have escalated in the intervening years never mind my health!! So again....well done us. Joe and I are minding youngest granddaughter for few days as her creche is closed cos of Covid cases...most of it will fall to him as I'll be working ..but she's a good wee thing..just HOW to keep her amused...it's a long time since I've had a child for more than a few hours!!! It'll be fine ;-)

I'm sure like most small girls, she will have a schedule for Joe. At that age, they can just trot along after you.

Agree Molly, I was definitely heading the wrong way with booze too. Hated it, hated myself for being like that.
I have to go into town on Friday night, cafe en seine, ffs.. dreading it. Not worried about drinking, just could not be arsed with it all. They are talking about sparkly dresses and leather trousers :crying:

Good morning everyone.

I’m with Molly and I think it is an age thing. We were just discussing this on our walk this morning, the advantage of getting older and refusing to do anything you do not feel like doing. Our crochet class was cancelled last week as teacher’s daughter had covid. She asked how we felt about coming back this week. I felt it was too soon and had no intention of going but before I got to reply they had decided to postpone.

I really do not want another lockdown either. Hope to be getting booster soon but they seem very slow at rolling it out.

HAve to agree with Molls & Rusters IamMary.
Use Tony as an excuse. You are not taking any chances with elderly parents & parents-in-law etc etc etc.
Unless you WANT to get dressed up in sparkly mini dress and tight sweaty leather trousers - you might ??

Seriously maybe you want to get dressed up Mers - you're still young with good mini-skirt- ready legs:haha: ? If you do - just go for the meal - WOW them & come home. That's what I do .... ( apart from the WOW bit ) & feck the rest.

Tried to watch from the start again.
Maybe it's age but was finding it really crude :egad:
Should I keep going - does it get better ?
