Ah here - don't write us off being mid-sixties Molls.
I'm talking about picking your hours & working a few hours a week just so you won't be on Crimeline for murdering your husband or worse the dog :haha:. You can regale him with stories of the people you meet and integrate in your new community.
- not talking about a new career or being boss or anything :egad:

Yeah ...no ...doesn't appeal in the slightest tbh. Part time still ties you down...want to be able to just be free really ...first time in our lives with complete freedom...well except for the poxy dog!!! That's why getting him infuriated me so much...but I've grown accustomed to his face

HAHA first thing will be sending himself off to find holiday kennels ...we are also planning a road trip ..maybe to Italy or Greece with car and dog for a month or two....well that's the plan anyway...just need to organise this move in my head...and get rid of Covid...booster done got a headache now but I am a crashing hypochondriac so hopefully that's all it is! Thanks folks for all your ideas but I'm fairly sure I'm on the right track!

evening all.
was there much of a queue for the booster Molls? might shoot up tomorrow or Thursday. Passed your library this evening, it was dark and so festive all around, gorgeous.. i reckon a few weeks into your retirement, you’ll wonder where you got the time to work at all.

That’s great you got the eye sorted JC. another box ticked!

my friend works for the dept of health (big important job ) she said major panic now as omicron will be the only game in town v shortly, like a week - panic is boosting everyone before it takes over.
on a happier note, kitchen arrived. fitted tomorrow. electrics and plumbing before the weekend. the end is nigh (aside from the windows, doors, worktop and my sanity coming in Jan).

Got the booster at the GP...they had spares from the over 70's so moved down the ages...in and out in 20 mins.. bit sore and achey but laying it on with a trowel...himself got a day of care...so will I :victorious:
Jeez that's one long house reconstruction...fair play to you..I'd rather live in a shed than go through that!!

Ah she's younger Molls - we all did it in our day & learned our lesson.
I think I'll move house before I have to do anything major here.
This is a house of doors I've realised.
FIVE doors in the the hall alone FFS!
Was built when 'open plan' was unheard of & heating was from back boiler in the fire.
Hence "shut the doors and keep the heat in"

i hope you have an open fire in the new gaff Molls or I won't visit.

Good morning everyone

Love a fire, something warm and comforting about it. I had a bit of a sore arm too after booster but himself is feeling poorly and taking solpadine. You won’t know yourself Mary and the new kitchen will be bliss after hall, the rest will come.

We will be facing big refurbishment in the cottage but won’t be living in it so don’t care. Bit of a breakthrough this week, part of the site was landlocked and no rights of way. Our solicitor had a right bug bear about it. Himself said would it be worth finding out who owns the portfolio and then we could approach them and offer to buy it. Off she went and it turns out it was the lady we are buying from. Don’t think she even realized she had it (someone didn’t do their homework her end) Long story short she threw it in at no extra cost so now we can proceed. Whew, put years on you.

Beautiful morning here and just had a lovely walk. Dropping my SIL off to the airport in a few minutes.

Morning,
We just booked on-line for our booster. Now we've been told only two families on Christmas day. With me being an awkward cow does that mean me & Mr JC plus two other families or just me and Mr JC and one family and what happens if the second family is huge?

Nothing said about Boxing Day here (St. Stephen's day over your way)..............does that mean I can have the world and family for lunch?

It gets better there's a public advert/advice being shown on TV over here telling us to open our windows regularly to let the nasty germs out. I kid you not.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

yeah you're right --- but you will have a lovely house I'm sure Mary -- it'll be worth it -- eventually!!!
Yes we have a lovely big open fireplace in the sitting room -- he has an enormous wood burning stove in it -- twice the size of the one we have here for a house less than half the size... so not sure what the point of that is -- guessing we'll just broil quietly watching tele.

I love open plan -- couldn't live in little boxy rooms anymore like we all used to have -- tho mind you -- when you've kids -- the boxy rooms are a godsend --

Well that all worked out well for you -- and yeah it's great to get stuff done when you're not there -- we had all our windows done about 3 years ago -- we booked into a hotel for a week and when we came home it was done and dusted... heaven!

Your rules are -- how shall I put it --- a bit bizarre -- it's like someone wakes up each morning and thinks 'what'll we confuse them with next?' -- not that our rules are amazing -- but they do vaguely make sense -- most of the time... mind you -- we still have to decide which sprog to dump on christmas day:welldone:

Stagnant air is a breeding ground for d'Covid ....
So they've been doing that open windows thing for weeks here Jacks.
The kids in school have 3 coats on & still freezing :haha:
Then the government got sick of parents moaning about frozen kids - so they threw a heap of money €62million ::egad:: at the school principals and told then to install Hepa filters or whatever they want & stop annoying them.

The Nursing Home went from a hothouse to a fridge overnight.
I agree with the fresh air theory tho - can't be good to be sitting in stale air all day - Covid or no Covid.

Freezing at the desk in library...all the young ones who sit on their holes all day now have discovered that actually working warms you up....result!!!!

Slept half the day after the booster and in bed now hopefully to sleep again...night folks!

Got boosted today. Walk in after work, but we were done within 25 mins of parking the car. All very efficient.

Don't think it matters how many are in the house JackieClaire, as they all breath the same fresh air that runs through our open plan, open window houses and schools.. I think we are 4 households, including our own. But that rule could change.
More friends have it now, def picking up pace, but doesn't seem to be too harsh.

Thats great news about the land rustop59, you must be delighted!!

Off to bed with my heavy arm..
