Re: December Army Thread with Extra tinsel and Joy

Been locked out of MWO for a while, it was after an update on my laptop.

Sadly Oslo daughter cannot come home tomorrow, probably a wise decision as she works in a operating theatre and our virus here is out of control.

I am being well looked after by family and friends over Christmas holidays.

Thank you everyone for all your supportive words over this last year.

FFS .... the anticipated crowd here on Christmas Day is dwindling.
Son-in-law is going to his sister in Dublin - she'd be on her own if he doesn't. There's always only been the 2 of them since their parents died. But I thought when you married that going to seperate houses changed ? They are still newlyweds & she must have some friends?
Ridiculous carry-on ........ it's only ONE shagging day.
BIL decided to go to his mother - who has gangs down there. But he just sits & drinks & says nothing - so let him off. Just a bit rude - but won't be asked again.

Having ranted - I really I don't give a shit - so less stressy with just my own family, sister & niece
.... just the last minute telling me is SO thoughtless. We'll be eating turkey & ham for weeks.

Lots of the young ones seem to do that now Satz. Informing you last minute not on. Look up Neville, he has a few lovely recipes for left overs. I do his Turkey Satay and Ham pie. I’m happy just having ourselves this year, no boyfriends. Baileys cheesecake and Tiramisu made, Sticky Toffee pudding will be made tomorrow. Nobody here eats Xmas pudding or Trifle except me so I am making what they do eat.

Sorry your daughter did not make it Brit, hopefully you will get to see her in New Year.

Who's BIL? confused.com....little shits...I agree with Rusters...until they've actually 'done' Christmas for hoards...they think nothing of just cancelling out...just enjoy your own wee unit...much nicer...I hate having the partners...Jill brought one home years ago..from Canada...I had the whole house scrubbed to within an inch of its life...only room I didn't bother with was my bedroom and my ensuite...he arrived in from the airport needing the loo...Jill ushers him up to my semi derelict bedroom toilet....FFS!!!
Busy today...bed now tho ...sorry your daughter didn't make it MrsA think she did make the wise choice tho considering her job.
Night all..I'll tell yiz the scarf story tomorrow...bollixed now xx

BIL = Brother-in-Law Molls
Married to my sister Rusters - so not a young fella.
Selfish / self centered.

Anyhoo got called into work tomorrow .... just as well 'cos I am about to box the head of someone if I'm asked again when I'm doing 'the big shop'
I've been gathering stuff by almost daily trips to shops ..........
When asked what 'the big shop' entails no-one can answer.
I'm convinced now that unless the chief Christmas organiser (me) suffers to the point of nervous breakdown - they think it's not a 'proper' Christmas.
I have no intention of entering a shop again... ooooommmmmmmmmm !

Wishing you all a wonderful blessed Merry Christmas!
Sorry @techie for raining on your Happy Christmas parade ....... :heartbeat:

Happy Christmas all !!!!

Just back from THE BIG SHOP!
so looks like we will be having the quietest Christmas in history.. middle child is a close contact.. and yes, 3 of them hopped into the car the other night as they decided they were too cold to train (we were out running), so shared the same airspace for 45 mins. No escaping it.

We will zoom into my family lunch tomorrow.
My folks have been rented out on Xmas day (didn't take them too long to find about turkey, which is concerning!).. and we will be here doing antigen tests for the foreseeable :cuss:
I am v disappointed but have to look at the bigger picture. No risk for my folks and we will be over this In a week or so. Unless we all get it, which Is likely too.

Good morning everyone! I wanted to wish you all a wonderful, stress free peaceful Christmas. I hope you are all managing to avoid the dreaded omicron/delta and any other variations that are lurking? Seems to be affecting many folk including my 85 year old inlaws who thankfully came through perfectly fine. We are off to my brothers tomorrow and inlaws for new year but ultimately looking forward to a lovely rest after an incredibly busy few months. I have moved to a new area within my company and although I took parts of my job with me, lots of other stuff is coming my way which is exciting but tiring. I have also had a few back problems which have curtailed my walking a bit which is a real shame. I have an appt with the consultant next week and hoping that I get some tips how to manage it so I can get back to normal in 2022! Best wishes to all xx

Morning,
Starty............:huggers: Lovely to see you, sorry about the back problems.

satz123..........the S&H comes here for Christmas dinner as his MIL can''t cook. Been doing it for years even before they were married. He buggers off to their house after he's been fed.

We're off to my cousin's for dinner tonight.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning everyone.

Lovely to see you Starty, sorry to hear about the back. Think it is inevitable it will come into all our homes Mary, especially with young people living with us. I’m amazed daughter hasn’t caught it after night out in city and concert last weekend. She’s self testing constantly and has had her booster which must have made a difference.

Lucky you getting your dinner tonight JC. We had a Chinese last night and it’s the ham tonight. Just got a long walk in with doggies before the rain. Will be busy in the kitchen for the day. If I am not on again Merry Christmas everyone and a happy and healthy 2022.
