    Re: COVID-19 & Variants

    I have been personally impacted by the pandemic. We lost a close friend and excellent athlete this morning in Phoenix. He was in the hospital for two weeks on ventilator. I found this in social media today. If it saves someone’s life it’s worth it. While debating as to whether or not to post on MWO, I have as I think this contains effective messaging to those not willing to vaccinate. If admin feels this is inappropriate, I will delete. Feel free to comment pro or con!

    We all have a choice. I try to respect everyone's choice, but these are some of the reasons behind mine...
    I'm FULLY vaccinated and, no, I don't know what's in it - neither this vaccine, the ones I had as a child, nor in the 11 secret herbs and spices at KFC, or hot dogs, or other treatments, whether it's for cancer, AIDS, pneumonia, or vaccines for infants or children.
    I also don't know what's in Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or other meds, it just cures my headaches & my pains.
    I don't know what's in the ink for tattoos, vaping, Botox and fillers, or every ingredient in my soap or shampoo or even deodorants.
    I don’t know the long term effect of mobile phone use or whether or not that restaurant I just ate at REALLY used clean foods and washed their hands.
    In short ...
    There are a lot of things I don't know and never will. I just know one thing: life is short, very short, and I still want to do something other than just staying locked in my home. I still want to travel and hug people without fear and find a little feeling of life "before."
    As a child and as an adult I've been vaccinated for polio, flu, pneumonia, tetanus, and quite a few others; my parents and I trusted the science and never had to suffer through or transmit any of the said diseases.
    I'm vaccinated, not to please the government but:
    * To not die from Covid-19.
    * To not clutter a hospital bed if I get sick.
    * To hug my loved ones
    * To not have to do PCR or antigenic tests to go to a restaurant, go on holidays and many more things to come .
    * To live my life.
    * To see and hug my family and friends
    * For Covid-19 to be an old memory.
    * To protect us.

    Thanks for posting this Techie & I agree 100%!!

    I know how bad it’s been in the hospitals, several friends & family are working there. I know of at least 6 or 7 local friends/acquaintances who have died of Covid, this is no joke.
    I’d like to share this on my social media if that’s OK.

    Thanks again,
    Lav

      Hi Techie, I am sorry to hear of your friend’s passing, this is devastating virus yet some people, either through fear or ignorance, choose to reject what is society’s best chance of countering it and keeping young and old, vulnerable and healthy people alive.There are words I would like to say about this stance but cannot for anger is not the best course to take and would I feel convince nobody in this camp to consider a non emotional debate on the merits of taking the vaccine based on the best scientific facts available to mankind at this point in time.
      I obviously also agree 100% with the words and sentiments you expressed in this post.

        100% agree with all of the above. The absurd thing is that this continually gets framed as a political issue; it's not, it's a health / science issue.
